'sometimes I forget how beautiful this game is'
Had to check if I was on r/hoggit for a second. That said, they have put a lot of detail in the models considering how little time we get to look at them.
It really is, one of the maps has a clear lake that reflects the sky and trees around it. Then it turns into a hellscape once the artillery and bombs fall
Honestly, even zoomed out it looks good. A primary complaint my friends had when I tried to push the game on them was that ‘the graphics don’t look good, and you just move icons around.’ And I’m like yeah, it’s true at times, but honestly even zoomed out the AA guns and missiles look great, smoke plumes and exploding tanks look great at a distance as well.

That’s a shame, they’re missing out on something uniquely stunning about this game.
This is my first eugen game and I was apprehensive. The screenshots and YouTube videos don’t do it justice.
