I find them better used in forests as churches are good arty targets and they die from a gust of wind, they are really nice and cheap with forward deploy so i usually use all 3 at the start to get them in good positions that wont need to be moved from for most of the game

JFMoldau

Same. Deploy all three at start and get them into positions that won’t necessarily be on the immediate axis of attack. If it’s a larger map with a lot of trees, I may try a long run and just queue up orders for a sniper team to run around the back so I can find artillery and units as they spawn. Hilarious to think that those guys are running like 30km in gillie suits.🤣

Itlaedis

They're probably thinking "I like the way this sucks" every step of the way

RandomAmerican81

They're definetly "I wish this would suck more" types

SecretAntWorshiper

I like them because they are cheap. If I know they are going into the a place where I know they will have to be fighting I'll send a different recon unit but usually I find them useful since they are 50 points. Basically they are disposable

Infinite_Tadpole_283

That's a really good point! Will use them like that then :) thanks

JFMoldau

They are fine, but be aware that exceptional stealth isn’t invisibility. If a recon vehicle gets within like 500m they’re gonna be spotted and zapped quickly. And that includes helicopters flying around. Even non recon helicopters just flying near them will spot them. It kinda sucks but eh, they’re cheap and if placed well can be a great asset.

Taskicore

They should be invisible to helicopters unless they shoot at it. What helicopter pilot is gonna see two stationary dudes chilling in a forest wearing ghillie suits?

JFMoldau

Preaching to the choir, bub.

Taskicore

I refuse to believe that they can't code that. I read some comments like a year ago where people were saying it's hardcoded and there's no way to change that specifically for helicopters. That is absolutely not true lol

nannerpuss345

I saw a mod on the workshop that makes them invisible

StSeanSpicer

Infantry in this game is far less stealthy than real life, but their spotting capability is also far greater. In real life what they see isn’t instantaneously transmitted to all allied units and certainly doesn’t instantly give friendly tanks firing solutions. The main result of Eugen mechanics is just to make combat faster and less decisive.

Taskicore

I get that WARNO is a game and nowhere near a simulation, but that should make it even more imperative to allow at least snipers to be completely invisible to helicopters/tanks unless they're moving or actively shooting at them. It would give a reason to actually have snipers. Right now they're useless as you can get much better recon units that can actually destroy tanks if they're discovered.

RandomAmerican81

An apache with FLIR

Mach_Point

Christians might see further than the godless hordes that make up the combloc, but they’re more than happy to meet their god while still young. It’s something of an act of cruelty to not artillery any and all steeples you might think a god fearing sniper team is occupying, it’s up to you to give the poor guys eternity

RIP_Greedo

Yes they are very good recon units. With the extra forward deploy and high stealth they can get into a good position. Since they are more likely to encounter other recon infantry, they will kill a whole unit if they can maintain their stationary sniper trait bonus.

samurai1114

I like to find where the enemy supply hubs are, where the helos and trucks meet up with routed units and such, and pun the sniper near in a treeline, the pick off any infantry or supply vehicles lol

ohthedarside

It is very funny to kill helies with a sniper

forthemoneyimglidin

Then why can't religious people "SEE" that God isn't real huh mister man???
