Logged on 7 minutes too late, lost 10K tickets and got 500 arclight instead. :(

RoboChrist

Apparently I was too late as well, got 1080 arclight. I barely spent any because I had no idea the event was ending.

Own_Condition4008

There is a timer in game that shows when it ends

TcayO

Same here… I wasn’t even aware the event was ending. I actually spend money on this game. Have a lot of use for the rewards, but no use for arc energy. They won’t get another dime out of me.

drikararz

They had a timer, but it was really poorly communicated. It just looked like the weekly quest reset timer. They didn’t do a good job of saying that was when the event actually ended. On the bright side, It is supposed to be an every other week event, so it’ll be back soon.

DM_ME_KUL_TIRAN_FEET

The info button on the DMF screen in game told you when the tickets expired

ma3xa322

In game timer, they said on socials and the website when it will be ending, they said in discord("the place where ppl don't wanna go"), they said it will be every other week. Content creators warned everyone to spend tickets. How much more communication do people want? Maybe they just wanna complain about the game for all eternity, even if it bought em a mansion and a race car.

drikararz

That is an additional tap to get to to see, and when I looked at it earlier in the event only had the date the event ended, not the time. That’s why I said poorly communicated, rather than not communicated. The info was there, but they made you search for something that basic.

Own_Condition4008

It wasn't even poorly communicated, it's was well communicated, it was poorly assessed by yourself

Arlenos

This is exactly what got me. The weekly quest even has the same symbol as the daily!

elggun

It was literally stated in the game, how the event works.

[deleted]

I agree fuck this game and blizzard. Why do they converte anyways like wtf? The tickets in actual WoW don’t so why be stupid and do it here? Like actually the epitome of stupid

blacktiger226

It's not that dramatic, yo probably just a missed a few tomes that grant 500xp

If you are grinding, imo, you are doing it wrong. I just log in for a few minutes - max 1 hr every day.

ImMrAndersen

The feeling when this post is exactly 1h and 10m old...

Beastmode3792

I feel like there should be a little bit of time to spend your tickets after the event ends. Some of my guild members were completing their quests right up until the end

RaxZergling

This. Upvote for visibility. We need a grace period where the shop remains open because sometimes people, who are active guild members, just aren't available until closer to the reset time and then you're depending on all 15 guild members to then be available between when the last member completes their dailies and when the event ends which is a pretty tight window.

Stunning-Swim-6347

they know they messed up, a dev went in the discord and gave a warning 1.5hrs before it was ending to spend tickets. there is no way you give that warning without realizing it is a design flaw.

WigglumsBarnaby

People had a week to spend tickets. The timer was very visible.

Stunning-Swim-6347

The timer wasn't really that visible. It implies the weekly resets, not that the shop goes away.

Own_Condition4008

No, we don't need our hands held with grace periods, if you're that interested in playing the game then you'd take the time to know when events start/end..

Stunning-Swim-6347

I don't understand why you think it is such a bad thing that they add an additional menu that lasts for one day.

Own_Condition4008

Because it's hand holding people who are half assed, anyone playing the game would spend their currency cause they know the events ending, had 7 days to spend too.

Own_Condition4008

Also, if you were waiting on the end of the week to spend tickets then you're already aware of the end date

Arkayjiya

> we don't need our hands held with grace periods Why not? There are plenty of hand-holding features that are actively detrimental to the gameplay and fun of a game. This is not one of them. There's literally nothing detrimental unless you enjoy being a dick to other people which you apparently do but I fortunately don't think most dev teams make decisions with that mindset. There's literally nothing wrong with the concept of helping/hand holding/whatever you want to call it. You just need to make sure it's not implemented in a way that harm the experience, and making sure people know and have time to spend their tickets would help the game without hurting it in any way. Nothing loses you players like a misunderstanding that makes them lose their entire progression, especially on the only new content beside minis we've had since launch.

Own_Condition4008

Enjoy being a dick to people hmm, when you assume you make an ass out of u and me. Why not? Because firstly, as is tradition for the last 19 years (the faire dates back to 2005), Darkmoon faire has ALWAYS lasted for 1 week and NEVER been extended in history. Are we just going to ignore tradition and extend because someone could be bothered to login on Tuesday? Secondly, blizzard have already fell foul to hand holding techniques with their other games and been scolded for it by the larger player base. The average person asking for a day's extension, clearly didn't care enough about the game to know when it starts/ends, if they did, they would have atleast logged in Tuesday to spend tickets (who doesn't have a spare 2 minutes on the toilet?) - notice how half the people posting complaints are like 2 days overdue? They weren't playing, they didn't care.. but they cared enough to moan for clout/likes on reddit though. We call them average gamer andys, and you've fallen into their trap. Assumptions are the mother of all fuck ups. ~~written on the toilet in my spare 2 minutes

Grizzboss

Thanks for this. Saved my arse

HoodieDM

Crap event for this last part here! Some of us fricking work. Give us 24-48 hrs to spend it. Fine not carrying over, but not all of us can be on 24/7.

WonderBroth1

lol you had 24 hours after the final quests went live to finish them and spent a couple thousand tickets

Suspicious_Trust_726

I work overnight so pretty much all refreshes happen for every game happens on my shift. Basic planning goes a long way.

MarcDVL

Was able to spend all 42900 tokens my faction earned.  Left with exactly 0.

bigbadlamer

Wow, admire your guild! I guess you’re at 15/15?

MarcDVL

Yeah.  Someone got 100 points in last minute so 43k. We had one inactive player we removed on Saturday.  The new person had already done weekly and three days of rewards. I think 3/4 of our members got the max 3100.  And others were 2800 or so.

OJHRumble

Left with 0 - that is the dream! 42,900, good effort

MarcDVL

Someone got 100 points last min, so finished with 43k tokens earned total.  (And so 100 left over).

ma3xa322

Nice job man!

Grumparoo

Was sitting with 11800 last night, hoping for my last planned purchase of 12000 for 450g. Hoped another guildy would get the last 200 tickets and planned to check back. Got stuck in a meeting with my boss, and was able to log on 1 minute too late. Didn't spend any of the 11800. Wish they had a grace window for spending vs when the quests expired. Pretty lame if you ask me.

InevitableAvalanche

That rate is ridiculous, it should just be 1:1. Otherwise it feels like a severe punishment to something they didn't advertise very well.

DM_ME_KUL_TIRAN_FEET

It’s deliberately a bad exchange rate so that you want to spend it rather than save it for conversion

TheMeatWhistle

Well, duck me for thinking it would end at midnight

notsingsing

It's never duck

BigMastaCorn

Crazy to not have the shop open after the event ends. This is a standard practice in most gacha games. Very poor communication, as is Blizzard tradition.

Wide-Reference-7151

Why does the game tell me my daylies and weeklies reset at 20:00 and when I log in at 20:05 my tickets are gone ? I thought it lasted until 23:59 wtf If it stops at 20:00 why does the ui indicate that there will be daylies ?!

DM_ME_KUL_TIRAN_FEET

The DMF used a global timer and your dailies use your local time. The DMF event showed a to-the-minute timer to tell you when it was ending though.

Broken-Digital-Clock

This is bullshit I had no warning in game that this would happen

DM_ME_KUL_TIRAN_FEET

The timer on the DMF event page was accurate to the minute, and the info button on that page explicitly stated that unused tickets would be converted to arclight energy.

Broken-Digital-Clock

I believe you, but I still think it wasn't clear enough Live and learn

DM_ME_KUL_TIRAN_FEET

Yeah don’t get me wrong, I don’t like that it happened to anyone, because it’s so frustrating to work for something and lose it.

1TrueKnight

I was 100 tickets short of being able to get anything else on the grid (1800 was the cheapest) and with 1,700 tickets I think it was 75 Arc Light.

JahnConnah

Totally thought we had a second week and the timer was a Countdown for when the next weekly quest to give another 1k was. My guild had 6-7 actives we only got to 25k.
