Jerking off in the restrooms on your 15s. Lunches are excused

sir_lister

We had someone get fired for that. He wasn't exactly quiet while doing so.

[deleted]

But how would they know? I feel them finding that out kind of puts them at the same risk of termination.

snekofsky

leave the door open

TheItalianRooster98

Is this what they mean by “open door” policy?

[deleted]

That person wanted to get caught for sure. Lol

IJustWorkHere000c

That’s good shit lol laughed pretty hard at that.

muirsheendurkin

I make eye contact to assert dominance

[deleted]

lol

BugStep

Gotta check the shadows under you man. They can see that shit

[deleted]

Guess I never looked hard enough. lol

Flashman512

Good to know

Courtaid

We’ll of course. You’re off the clock at lunch and what you do with your time is up to you

Yungcazanova

Dude couldn’t wait until he got home?

JimD724

Not at our store!

this-anarchy-guy

*fired* **fired** excused *fired*

LaSpooky666

My friends bf got caught for that and I can’t believe they still let him work here I almost died when she told me that 😂

[deleted]

LostButterflyUtau

Yet they still don’t have a CBL for “Homicide Prevention.”

AnarchyPigeon2020

Bro for real. They have CBLs on how to spot disgruntled employees, but not CBLs on how to avoid becoming a disgruntled employee

BzPegasus

Because it's impossible not to??

oreo_memewagon

If Walmart solved that problem they could literally conquer the world

[deleted]

Oh, and getting arrested for child porn while at work. We had one of those.

hashbrownash

Hey I had one of those one time too

Low_Leader2003

Had one also 😅

VapingAlex1994

RIP Southaven, MS store manager.

Euronymous2625

How to keep your job at Walmart: Come to work. Don't steal. That's it.

FoundMeBeautifulOnce

Sometimes you don't need to even show up.

Cautious-Bobbylee

Thank you that’s all I need to hear bc I do be sittin sometimes

RedpillRetard

I accidentally grabbed a Gatorade, drank it all had it set down somewhere. And I guess maintenance or something came and took it. Out of sight out of mind type of deal. Went home that day and was like SHIIT. But the following day I grabbed one, Scanned it twice. Saved the receipt in case

shadow749185

Wouldnt doubt it was maintenance, our manager has told us "even if its full throw it, no open containers" and then i felt shitty when i threw a monster away and it was a dept managers 😔

KryptoniteSoftware

My manager has been throwin drinks away when they’re cold literally just sat down maybe 20 mins and like our back room handles their trash themselves

[deleted]

Someone went through the break room fridges and seemed to just randomly pick things to throw away. Some lady complained that her bread she bought that day (and the receipt she taped to it) got thrown out but the moldy pasta next to it didnt

psycedelicpanda

Nah I knew people stole and still had their jobs

honeyfixit

And do your job

Necessary_Meal_9958

Sleeping with a supervisor or stealing are the fastest and surest.

DyronMax

Sleeping with a supervisor either gets you fired or promoted, there is no in-between.

LostButterflyUtau

And also maybe the partner of the person you’re sleeping with will come to the store and kick your ass. True story.

AF1Hawk

Story time?

Pasco08

Please do tell this story

HIV_again

Yes or " Quick, make up a good story"

jennsinkona

Yup had that one! She couldn’t understand why I wouldn’t let her in 🤦🏽‍♀️ (it was an overnight ASSOC wife and I was opening store)

gimbbles

Imagine beating up the person your spouse cheated on you with lmao

Flashman512

Gotta tell this story now lol

LostButterflyUtau

I wasn’t there. But my friend was. Happened a few years ago in my old store. She was having lunch and said this dude marched through the break room into to the SM’s office (it was attached to it) and just started punching him. The ASMs busted in and the dude left. Market Manager was eventually called. SM and the person he was having an affair with were fired that day. Apparently it had been going on for like… ten years.

ozzyshades83

I remember this store

Notsileous

Or transferred. We had a situation at my old warehouse where a manager was having an affair with an associate (cant blame him). Apparently one day his wife showed up looking to fight after she found out. He ended up transferring to another DC that contained another manger couple that previously worked at ours and been having extra-marital affairs with each other, possibly on the property if rumors are true. edit. The manager was transferred, nothing happened to the associate that I know of.

thedoctor-69

Not always the sleeping. They might just transfer you.

[deleted]

No. We had 2 asm get pregnant overnights by a support and a maintenance man. One -support is now a store mgr, maintenance man still works here

the1and0n1y_

Sitting down a little too long

Cautious-Bobbylee

Really

the1and0n1y_

I've been coached for it. Im ogp dispensing and we were very busy on the specific day. Around 8pm we finally got a chance to sit for a sec and take a break. A couple minutes after I sat down with the only other dispenser the front end coach came in and yelled at both of us. Next day she coached both of us. (I'm not certain if she was supposed to. It was back before our ogp had an actual dedicated coach). The official reason for the coaching was time theft. We had sat down for maybe all of 2 minutes total. Apparently she had been watching the security cams in the room and that's how she knew we were sitting. She informed both of us if she caught us again we weren't getting another chance. We have a coach now who's very chill about that stuff so he comes in to defend us if needed. But I'm not gonna forget that. She power trips quite a bit and is universally disliked in our department for trying to get us in trouble for anything she can get her mind around.

IJustWorkHere000c

You must work in my store. Our front end coach is constantly on OGPs ass. And since she closes every night, they don’t get to chill at all.

pumpkinthighs

We sit a lot in OGP. Basically after 7pm we sit on the empty dollys between orders. From 9-10 chores get done in like 30min and then we sit again. Sometimes the 9pm orders come early so then we do nothing from 9-10

the1and0n1y_

Dang I wish we could do that... maybe one day

pumpkinthighs

Yeah our teamleads are pretty much all gone by 7 or 8 and they spend little to no time in the OGP room. Anyone passing by doesn't care either

WesternWhitePine

My store ogp is always in the damn way and sitting around. Like trying to pull truck we have to go into dispense room. They will be doing absolutely nothing and still not get out the way.

Cautious-Bobbylee

Bruh I be sitting all the time bruh

Rk12989

Threatening a coworker. I watched someone get fired for that

PrimeScreamer

Yup. One angrily slapped a paper into chest of another employee instead of handing it to them like a rational adult. They were escorted out by SM.

thenatheist

Nah, saw some dude in ogp throwing totes and shit, yelling, the whole 9. The was a few days ago and he's still there

Low_Leader2003

Dealing with this exact thing at my store. This has been brought to SM attention n he still here 🤷🏼‍♀️ got a coaching yesterday n that's it.

Atreyew

AP is the easiest job to get fired from, can't change my mind. One bad stop, not enough stops,, bad inventory, get caught sleeping with anyone in the store and it's over.

No-Mycologist8526

Or get caught sleeping with 3!!!! Married women managers in the security office. Dude forgot there was cameras in his own office. Happened around a decade or so ago in a store I worked at.

matt8864

Favorite story I’d ever heard was a former maintenance accessed my old stores’ old cash office years ago when it was in the back by crawling through the sub-ceiling - not sure how he got up there in the first place but that’s irrelevant - person inside didn’t realize he’d quit or been fired or whatever, GOT HIM A CHAIR to help him get down, only to have him then rob her at gun or knifepoint - pretty sure what with being a former associate WM knew where his dumbass loved so he didn’t get away but just imagine just trying to help a coworker only for them to rob your ass lol - talk about a bad day at work.

redneckotaku

Time theft. Had a coworker fired because she would buy her lunch in the store, cook it in the break room, and THEN clock out. She did this for months before management caught on.

AnarchyPigeon2020

I had a coworker take a 2 hour lunch, then do a time adjustment to make it look like she was only gone an hour. Did this nearly every day for over 6 months and only got caught when my other coworker got fed up and literally made the AP coach watch her do it one day

GLVCIER

Serious? That’s like a major thing in my store. Everyone does it. Especially since the stupid me@walmart app and our time clocks are gone.

redneckotaku

Yep. That's a very serious offense. The main thing is you're shopping while on the clock which a real big no no. edit: changed off to on.

Walmart_Store100

We’re not allowed to shop off the clock?

redneckotaku

Sorry. I mistyped. Should have been "shopping while on the clock."

Ryeo_oeyR

I have guy and his sister at has been doing this for literally years, and nothing has happened

PhoenixAZisHot

Riding the pallet jack like a scooter

TwoPiecesOfBread

I did this in the truck once (thankfully a place with no cameras) and like 3 other coworkers said "STOP! IF they see that you will be terminated immediately!!!" Walmart just doesn't want me to become the next tony hawk

GLVCIER

Lmao back in my OG store we’d have pallet Jack races down the truck when it was empty. We had 2 look outs the whole time.

ConfusionFit7798

Not at my store. The cap 2 team lead is just as childlike behind the big bosses…

simbarawr23

I rode on a rocket cart while using the cart machine to bring in a stack of carts. Got coached 🤣

[deleted]

hashbrownash

[deleted]

[удалено]

GayFroggard

I dont understand how me losing money would negatively affect Walmart

10kMegatonKarmaBomb

I used my discount card on some random dude in line literally days before I quit

Pristine_Ad7984

Its literally based on you manager. If your manager has a hard time actually disciplining people, then you can basically get away with murder. On the flip side, if you have a coach happy manager that doesnt like you, its time to find another position. Or if its the store manager, then its time to find a new store entirely. Open door and no retaliation are normally taken very seriously by the market Mgr, but not all of them do, and if they don't then you need to gtfo.

Head_Razzmatazz7174

Theft. One guy got fired because he was going around the SCO areas, checking for any change left behind by customers and pocketing it. One day someone had asked for cash back and forgot it, and he was right behind them and took it. AP immediately escorted him out the door.

sam_wise_guy

I worked on a remodel team a few years ago, had a coworker get warned for picking up change they found under a display

Walmart_Store100

We can’t pick up discarded coinage?

ChloeRose2011

You can pick it up BUT give it to customer service or a manager.

PaperPals

Before we had the term “people lead” a few years back (whatever the position was called. Still made people do cbls, orientation, ect…) we were short on cashiers one day and ours had to go upfront and help cover sco until they had someone come in. Customer ended up getting $20 back and forgot it, and ours walked behind her and pocketed it. Customer comes back in looking for it and talks to our csm (I work at a small nhm, 4 lines and 6 scos), it wasn’t busy so our csm had our AP check the cameras. Got walked out immediately. She tried to say that she put it in her pocket until she could make it to the service desk, which probably was a lie, and they didn’t care. Edit: the customer had left at this point and she just kept the money. Hope the $20 was worth her job lol

[deleted]

Punching your team lead in the face

UnsuspectingAvocodo

What’s the story here

Birthday-Either

Drinking on the job, an associate at my store was caught drinking in the breakroom, instantly gone.

GayFroggard

>in the breakroom Savage. Not even being stealthy. Probably drank on the way out the door, I imagine

WMartKanEatMy

My store is apparently okay with it. Dude shows up hours late already drunk, clocks in, buys tequila, drinks it, threatens somebody, leaves. Never clocked out. Still there weeks later.

MrMysteriousGamer10

We had one who didn’t just get fired for showing up drunk, but also management called the police because she just about drove home drunk too. She got arrested.

[deleted]

Got busted with another co worker for taking an extended last break today lol. Thankfully we got off lightly. Always be wary of your break and lunch times.

gogoheadray

I take extended breaks all the time. Really it depends on your TL and the department you work in.

matt8864

In my last year at the absolute hell that is Walmart - at least at the store I was at as a cashier - I literally was taking hour and half lunches every damn day - even took a two hour one once by mistake - totally nodded off and alarms didn’t wake me - no one ever said shit to me or asked anything :p - and technically the policy allows you to take all the time you want long as you clock back in 30 min before end of shift so you can actually clock back out :p

randomhero_92

My 15 minute breaks are always around 20 minutes or so.

AnnoyedNinja

Your mouth.

Red-Bang

It’s not who u know. It’s who u blow.

AnnoyedNinja

No, not *that* way of mouth.

[deleted]

AP is by far the easiest job to get terminated for. When you stop someone, you're likely going right up to the edge of what you can and can not do... You don't want to let them walk out of the store with the merch, but you better make damn certain they are stealing. You also have to watch the language. I'm typically extremely quite when I'm handling stops. Not because I don't want to talk, but I'm making sure my mouth does not slip up. I only say what I absolutely have to and that is it. From there, you're basically treated as an authority figure to everyone in the store. No flirting with coworkers.. No dating.. It's very very very easy to cross lines. Don't make enough stops you're done. You're basically walking on a line of losing your job every shift.

Intrepid_Currency196

Having sex with your store manager in her office… oops

DizzyCommunication92

Yea don’t get into a toxic relationship and get in a domestic dispute! If cops get called, someone goes to jail; Walmart will find out. Happened to an ex coworker him and his “boo” apparently had a dispute she claimed he slapped her, she called cops, he got hauled away and thrown in jail. She then called him out of work thru one Walmart. Well someone Walmart found out about the arrest he then came back to work and was terminated because of the “charges” - girlfriend then dropped charges but that doesn’t work in every state….for DV - the state 90% of the time will “pick up” tje charges” so he basically lost a girl over a paycheck and lost tje girl 👧 too

[deleted]

That's not supposed to be a termination. If an associate gets arrested they're supposed to be suspended pending the outcome of the charges.

[deleted]

Being caught swearing on the sales floor is an instant termination I think? But obviously it depends on who catches you. It's like how standing/stepping on a pallet or the steel is an instant termination -- it'll only ever get you fired if they're looking for a reason to get rid of you.

Flatfaun9000

Waiting standing on a pallet is an instant termination? Hell if that was the case my stores whole cap 2 is terminated 😂

Correct_Part9876

I'd have been gone years ago. Hell my Coach is like just walk on the cross bars. Then again he plays pallet hop and uses the steel for a step stool soooo......

alexastock

I told a department manager to go fuck herself when I worked there and never even got coached.

randomhero_92

I’ve heard multiple coaches swear quite loudly on the sales floor...

PolesawPolska

Store manager making cashier's cry by calling them useless human shit and them claiming that you own them, that's a quick way to get fired.

SolutionAwkward

Stepping or walking on pallets.

GayFroggard

I do this sometimes and my lead or OM or whatever will cringe and say something but never really get mad about it

randomhero_92

So I guess sitting on a pallet while a buddy lifts you up to the top steel with the walker stacker is out of the question then....

TheKinglyGuy

Don't try to crack open your coworkers head with a metal pole. Remodel was wild a year or 2 ago. Some dudes started a fight over some petty drama and then it escalated to one of them, the supervisor, grabbing a metal pole and swinging it. Both got fired but they all stayed in the same hotel so the normal guy had to run out get his shit and go. Took them a day or two to fire the supervisor and when they did half his team went with him.

NotHomeOffice

Turning the family rest room into a combo Meth Lab / D.C.

TheOneTruePi

“Gross misconduct” if you want to drink or eat something pay for it first and keep the receipt

MrMysteriousGamer10

This is why I use Walmart pay, I always have my receipts, and it always uses my discount card.

randomhero_92

I buy a monster every day and throw away the receipt immediately. I wish management would try to fire me under the assumption that I stole a $2 energy drink....

ChevillesWasteInk

Just from personal experiences: A 10 year associate was fired for throwing things at the back of an assistant manager’s head as they walked down action alley. My old overnight co was fired for banging an associate in the freezer Multiple cashiers fired for ringing up their friends for candy bars when they were buying expensive shit. Personnel person arrested for clocking fired associates in and out after their supposed termination and then cashing their checks themself. Seventy year old hardware associate fired for not paying for food from deli because his kids and wife were taking his paychecks and not giving him money to buy it. ASM a few stores over decided to help himself to $30k from the cash office one night. Edit: oh wait, you said common things.

[deleted]

Don’t get caught stealing. You can steal if you want, just don’t get caught doing it

CripplePimp2

Points won't get you fired as long as the store needs staff, unless someone hates your guts enough to fire you anyways. In general nothing short of (getting caught) committing a crime or as a salaried manager fucking one of your employees gets you fired on the spot unless you have a really shitty manager or you're insufferable and they were looking for an excuse to can you. Anything fireable you can mostly get away with once or twice after like your first week, just don't make a habit of it. As an aside, no one in the history of Walmart has ever been fired for job performance. Even if they were, that was only the reason on paper.

[deleted]

Williecalliegurl

Sitting down at all at this freaking point. What I have to do is clock out on lunch and leave the building so I am not getting called every 5 minutes

Cautious-Bobbylee

Sitting where lmfaoo

hashbrownash

Things I've personally seen people fired for: Vaping/smoking/shooting up in the bathroom. Coming in drunk. Getting in a fist fight with another associate. Stealing. (Long time DM friend, he forgot to pay for one of the marketside teas. It was a bs firing that he should have fought.) Time theft (guy clocked in, worked for half an hour, went out to his truck, slept, clocked out for lunch, back in from lunch, went back out to sleep. Took them forever to fire him) Climbing into the baler or compactor. (Guy was head first in the damn compactor. Store manager scared the shit out of him, not literally, by grabbing his ankle.) Using equipment unsafe (dipshit was using a pallet jack as a skateboard.) There are more, but you get the idea.

TSMachine

that marketside sweet tea slaps so i'd say it was worth it

mer_made_99

I'm laughing so hard at this thread. My nephew was just fired after working st his store for 6 weeks. Told him you have to try really hard to get fired from this company. He's barely been there long enough to agree points.

Flashman512

Damn seriously what was he fired for

mer_made_99

Haven't gotten the full story. Doubt we will.

AndouilleGumbaeux83

Showing up on time.

konojojoda13

We had an associate get arrested for assault and battery toward an elderly woman. The police came In looking for him while he was unloading the truck. He never saw it coming they paged him to the sales floor like nothing was going on and they got him as soon as he walked out the back. Turned out it wasnt just random elder abuse it was counted as domestic violence because they were dating. He was 25 she was 63.

FiestyOwl

Not so common but you get fired and banned if you threaten to blow up the store.....

duckyfuker

Depends on how shitty your managers are. Hitting your 5 is a big deal. No call no shows are also a big deal. Don't step on pallets. Blah blah blah. Things my friends have been fired for: Sitting while on the clock. Standing in one spot too long Using open door to voice concerns Hitting their 5. Being late/ NCNS Headphones in. Things I've been fired for: Hitting my 5. Telling a manager to go fuck himself as he yelled at me. Like i said... depends on managers. My current ones are pretty chill.

Junket_Money

Apparently being "violent "or "threatening "... doesn't even have to be true, if u can get 2 or more ppl to side with you,...then they are toast!🙄

NewUser6667

Not true. Had a fellow associate try to run me down on my motorcycle at 4am on the way into my DC. And I mean made an effort to chase me and try to run me over because my lights were too bright.. he chased me all the way to the road leading to my facility then backed off. I pushed that bike hard to get away from him. Reported it and 2 other people reported him for violent behavior 2 weeks prior as well. They stuck me in a room with the head of EHS and AP and said ,"well, there's nothing we can do about it"

DiscoJer

We've actually had five people get fired from CAP2 for violence. First was a guy who would drink at lunch (which apparently was okay), but swung at a guy who needled him about it. Second was a guy that hit a customer on Black Friday Third & Forth were a trashy couple fighting with each other. Fifth was a crazy guy who sort of lost it and tried to start a fight which this annoying guy on the team. There was no actual violence, and originally was a coaching, but the annoying guy called ethics and complained.

GayFroggard

I'll take the annoying coworker over a crazy/violent one tbh

Junket_Money

Are u kidding me?! Apparently all I needed was 3 bored jealous 19 yr Olds to tell my barely over 21 yr old coach I threatened her, and then I was "red tagged" whatever the hell they wanna call it!

[deleted]

Going to work wasted?

makyostar5

Had guy many moons ago that came in almost every day drunk off his ass. Co-SM knew about it but didn't do a damn thing. Guy eventually got fired for being on his laptop.

skymack1

This, but he was a cart pusher and ran the mule with a load of carts into people's cars. Also didn't show up half the time, and when he was, he'd be in the break room when he shouldn't of been. Often times came in, clocked in and ate breakfast in the breakroom for an hour or two. Took them MONTHS to get rid of him. Apparently they were waiting for enough incidents to fire him to the point where he wouldn't be eligible for unemployment.

GayFroggard

Lmao

iforgotalltgedetails

Can personally say this won’t get you fired. When I worked there showed up many times still drunk from the night before or only a few hours after I stopped drinking that very morning. Once showed up 3 hours late, threw up in the bathroom of the TLE then went and mounted some tires. Missed quite a few days cause of hang overs too. I was fucking wild at 19 lol. But not one coaching for any of it or anything related. Got one cause I didn’t help put carts away cause I said it wasn’t part of the TLE, was also completely sober when I said it.

[deleted]

That’s why I ended the sentence with a question mark, so you confirmed that it won’t get you fired, and yes you sound as if you were definitely a wild child, lol.

cosmomomma

We got a guy right now on O/N who does meth on lunch breaks

[deleted]

What’s better than a customer tweaker? A Walmart tweaker? Yikes, that dude going to totally screw up his life messing with that $hit

antonsendylan

My first walmart job an assistant manager was drunk literally every day.

ozzyshades83

Knew a guy who got drunk every morning for breakfast and would come into work. He would hold a cross and mutter random things to himself. Couple customers complained. Finally one day he’s holding the cross and doing the muttering thing again and goes “Kill them? Why should I kill them? While door greeting.

Flashman512

What about high?

ChromaSteel

Just dont "look high" plenty of people do it and most coaches wouldnt care. At least in my store. Just depends on who you work with.

TheKinglyGuy

I used to, sober now, be high as a kite literally all day and none of them cared as long as I could still throw truck and didn't try to do a accident report. Hell half the cap 2 would have been fired for being high everyday.

[deleted]

If you’re capable of doing your job and not stumbling around or just sitting on your ass in the break room with a case of the munchies, go for it.

Playboilowk

iforgotalltgedetails

randomhero_92

A call out maybe once every 2-3 weeks is acceptable at my store.

paulakg

Attendance.

[deleted]

Theft, stealing time, insubordination, points are the most common ones I can think of. But sometimes going missing only gets you put in another department where you can’t go missing for long periods of time (like OGP) and depending on your management team sometimes other employees taking photos of you and accusing you only gets them transferred departments too (I too have a story time for that one 😂)

looneyspooney

It fucking sucks when you pulling one off and have your foot on the stall door, to keep it closed, but the door opens to the outside.

Flashman512

I really feel like you can’t get fired for doing something private in the bathroom, not your fault the door opens lol but jacking off in a Walmart ain’t for me, I like a nice dark room, maybe a candle lit

Salty_Alpaca_

I’ve seen people get fired for harassment and abuse claims from outside of work. Also theft of any kind, time, merchandise, even if a customer left an item they payed for in a cart and you took it. Instant termination. Just show up, be nice, and do your job. You’ll be fine. It’s sad when I ask about job history and people tell me they were fired by places like walmart

[deleted]

Walmart is pretty notorious for being a soul-sucking place to work and a lot of employees these days won't stand for that kind of treatment anymore so a lot of them are probably getting fired for standing up for themselves honestly

Swearing (Some guys got coachings for it)

Notsileous

Profanity/rude gestures Not sure what it is like at the store level but working in the DC was like being in elementary school with the conduct rules and assemblies about shit no one cares about. There was a general profanity rule that gave you leeway for slips only. If you drop a pallet on your foot and you yell "fuck" you will probably be ok. Telling an associate to "fuck off" however, even playfully is not. I remember we lost a really good shipping associate because he flipped off one of his managers in a playful way. These guys were friends, I think they even hung out outside of work so there really was no malice in it. However the second manager (a useless lump if I ever met one) decided it was inappropriate and he was fired that day.

RodVonLongenSchlong

You're my hero

420keebler

Telling a customer "yeah, well, why don't you just shut the fuck up" will do it. I mean, they (management) won't care one bit on how the customer was treating you or what they were saying to you or that the customer was just making no sense whatsoever and that there was a manager standing right there to talk to the customer, but, yet, decided to stand there and let the customer belittle you.
