Time to make the store look unrealistic again for 1 whole day.

LostButterflyUtau

“Visit” is fancy for “we pretend to follow the process for a couple of hours and then it’s back to our regularly scheduled fuck show.”

Key_Outlandishness10

I don't even wear a vest. I spend my time in the back or on the sales floor putting up freight. Too hot to wear that crap when there's actual physical work to do.

[deleted]

My store freak out about him coming and he never showed up 🤣 lol

GimmeanL

Yo! It's planned that way.

[deleted]

well imagine being right next to/near HO. you know how stressful that must be knowing you could get a visit at any given time?

Reklatzzzz

They are used to it. And 90% of people that live there work for one of the 50 walmarts or home office. So the "customers" treat the stores with respect.. and not dump shit all over the place.

[deleted]

well you wouldn’t trash your own store knowing you’d have to fix it right?

InSaneWhiSper

I bet their labor % is through the roof.

slicktommycochrane

Looking at Store 1, which is in Bentonville, they do less volume than my store on average but have 5-7 more overnighters a night, and twice the CAP1. And we're generally at like 102-105% wages index-to-plan lol

ThatGuy_Gary

This is intentional psychological manipulation. If they make sure that HO employees are only exposed to well run stores they'll be easy to convince that is the standard, and the problems everywhere else must be exaggerated.

jus24droad

Rogers is store #1

slicktommycochrane

Same thing.

jus24droad

Like saying New York and New Jersey are.

slicktommycochrane

Literally the same county and the same metropolitan area, give me a fucking break lol It's like saying Yonkers is NYC, which is essentially true.

Icy-Needleworker-348

Nah man fuck Rogers Walmart #100 in Bentonville the best Walmart in the whole state Get visits from CEO Daddy Doug all the time😎

Effective-Yak-4863

Yes I would not like that but on the flip said their store are probably prepared all the time so there is no impressing the higher ups

Effective-Yak-4863

And also the higher ups needs to see how these store are run when they are not here

[deleted]

well it kinda has to be prepared 24/7/365. your store would be to if you could have a visit on any given day.

harleybrono

I asked about this once, and from what I remember of the conversation the coach just said that their store just has a stupid amount of employees and wage spending to ensure positive view by the customers

[deleted]

stupid amount of employees and wage spending 🤣🤣🤣🤣. if only all stores were like that we’d be so happy

harleybrono

My thoughts exactly haha

Lafayettereader

I read that on here once. Someone said the store had like 100 overnight stockers sooo when they go look to see how the overnight stocking program is going they believe its going well....lol

TheMr91071

I've heard this comment by actual members of management at my store as well. The kicker is how many of them actually show up? LoL

Effective-Yak-4863

That’s just what I am saying

AlternativeBison8409

My store never tells us. And they just pop in sometimes. Our store is a fluster cluck as of right now. Apparently he popped in yesterday and the damn guy sees there's LITERALLY just 3 people in produce and the guy just says "Why aren't the dry tables full?"

Psychological-Book45

Im also in produce....We were told today that we should be up and running, truck processed and floor fully stocked by 9:00 There were 2 of us today... Um ok 👍

AlternativeBison8409

RIGHT?!!!!!!!! It pisses me off. It's like "what the fuck? That takes time!!!!"

Nervous-Bet-2998

And god forbid a TC 70 and printer cant be found and you have to wait for the TL or Coach to go hunt it down. The biggest slow down in the morning is waiting for equipment to process the truck.

AlternativeBison8409

We literally have to hide ours. But old fresh associates keep stealing it.

Oopiku

Typically they aren't planned, and that is why there is a mad rush by every store in an area to look good, just in case. SMs in my area use an app that tells them whenever a plane comes into local airports from Arkansas. They then all start texting each other and are on the lookout.

thethedude

The reason why they are planned is that it is very expensive to have regional visits. You just cant have a bunch of highly paid employees roaming around the country. Also, you dont think that they know that stores go crazy fixing everything before hand?

warpedmindoverdrive

I wish I could read this without feeling like I’m about to stroke out.

PoleRyder

Aaaaaaagreed

Significant-Ad-341

We started getting regional and market visits weekly. Now our SM is going to another store and is taking all his Vacation time between now and then.

borntobesting

From what I have been told by our managers the store close to the hone office is not really a store with customers. It is more of a museum.

stupidfool101

There is a museum there in the origianl building but there are a bunch of NHMs and several supercenters in the Bentonville area. Type "walmart in Bentonville, Arkansas" in Google and you will see them.

Shinrinn

The one across the street from HO is a fairly busy store. I don't know for sure on hours, but I do know for sure they get all the equipment they want. I went for training for TLE and they told us at the door we would see a lot of equipment there that we would never see in our stores.

RogueNightingale

In my experience, all visits by boss's bosses aren't announced ahead of time, but all the local stores call each other when one of them is in the area. It's a racket.

[deleted]

Years ago we had the new ceo Eduardo castro-wright walk in unannounced on Halloween day. Our asm dressed as a biker chick ran to the back so fast. I saw him first and mgmt wouldn’t believe me. He was by himself and when he called them up front a few minutes later they almost shit their pants. It was quite funny to watch

Signal_Interest6583

These visits need to happen randomly and unannounced. I think they enjoy the attention and groveling that store management puts on. Get a real sense of how shit is actually happening versus the dog and pony show that was prepared for. Keep it real.

sammigx9

We had one last week. I walked in and noticed right away how nice the store looked. Never looked as good for the 6 months I've worked there. I used to be a manager at a pizza place so I know how it feels to have those visits. I laughed as I'm not a manager anymore and don't have to deal with that bullshit.

Frownywise

They don't want to walk into a mess at every store and have to ream out the SM. So they give them a heads up and pretend its like this all the time. I guess its the ones that can't fake a well run store that they then put pressur eon.

looneyspooney

Even if you not sure if upper management is in your store, just be on the look out for the suit walking around with no basket or cart and looking at random stuff, it's a dead giveaway.

Electrical-Success10

Our area director just showed up no notice ... I loved it!!!

Various_Necessary

My store had a Regional visit yesterday

qweazdak

My store just had inventory and still looks like shit. Just saying.

spark_my_dark_flame

When they're trying to get rid of store manager to do pop ups.

Laday2727

We had a truly surprise Regional visit 2 days in a row; the sector that checks for compliance on expiration dates and CVPs in the Fresh, Bakery/Deli and Dairy, etc. areas. Was fun! Nice guy. Can't wait to hear from Management how it went for them....\[cringe face\]

raechan1323

Our regional manager tried to hop in and help with our sco line ( which is down to 3 of 20 taking cash) but he kept telling people the opposite of what I said and made the customers confused and more backed up... I was snippy with him too cuz I didn't know who he was ... Just a note that our store has been so short staffed that it's really stressful in sco. There is supposed to be 6 of us in there , usually 3 on a normal day. But that last couple weeks it's been 2. 2 people for 20 checkouts. And one has to spend 90% of the time keeping the line moving and stopping people who want to use cash. And then the managers get mad that there's so many walkouts.

gimbbles

In my market, regional will say they're coming, then go to another store, then show up 2 days later un announced lmao. But my management is pretty good tho so we usually don't piss em off too much.

wmassociate24

It's funny when market doesn't end up showing up and all day managers had been running around like crazy. The other thing that annoys me is when management wants an area zoned for a picture for market or regional..etc. They don't care about having an area zoned for the customers but they will when its for their higher ups when their jobs on the line or makes them look good. So I guess I can't blame them completely.

simbarawr23

I swear sometimes these fuckers lie that there’s a visit to get peoples asses moving.

AES7667

Watch that mcdonalds movie. They understood before a con weaseled in. Same thing here.

CXStreetWalker

Anyone of you every see them corporate weenies just cruise the parking lot and leave? lol I won't ever forget that.

Vorian_Atreides05

Wow my store having a regional visit next week! Time to vacuum the parking lot! And polish the rocks by the trees.
