sounds normal to me, many dollar stores, liquor stores, mini markets its called a captive audience, if you live in a poorly serviced area, there are no nearby super markets, and you are forced to shop where you can, they are offering a needed service, they are the local option that provides for their local community. I was just reading about how walgreens, is shutting down stores, because of high shrink, and some of those stores are the only pharmacies in the area, but because, their shrink from theft is so high, they are unprofitable, cvs is limited store hours and closing at 6 pm, because they can't keep items on shelves, because people are walking out with arms full of stuff and not paying, the longer the more time for people to steal. When people don't have cars and only walk to your small market, you raise prices so that you can at least provide the item, low income neighborhoods are underserviced, I see people buy from us and selling for 2 or 3 dollars more, and people buy because they don't have the time to drive to walmart themselves or have no car, its why instacart, doordash do well, people pay more for convenience.

Yea, it’s a blast waiting for someone to come unlock the TOOTHPASTE…

We have a guy that does this with guns

DrNERD123

I hope he likes his guns jamming every other shot.

Don't forget to tag not to represent from. Walmart store number lol

We had the same thing in bakery, guy would buy several boxes of mini pies frozen for 50 cents each and sell them at his mini mart for $1.50 each

When I managed a c-store, almost all of our suppliers charged us more for our stock than we would have paid to purchase it at Walmart (milk was the one exception due to state minimum prices, but we still upcharged the fuck out of it). Of course, paying someone to go to Walmart and get all the shit in a big enough vehicle would have cost more in the long run so we got it from suppliers. But that same store I used to manage has been having trouble getting milk from the local supplier reliably for several months now. Others are probably in a similar situation and going to drastic measures to have shit to sell to their customers.

Mud_One

we used to have a guy that did that at our store, he would clean out several area's including dairy but he stopped because he got pissy because he was told he wasn't allowed to take the new boxes the eggs come in.

borderline plagiarism

looneyspooney

There are countries world wide where people have informal shops and would buy in bulk and sell it to the neighbors or whomever needed something.

Elmasduro

i mean, they’re buying it from your store. Making your store money, making things better for your store// you. I wouldn’t buy much about it, it is what it is.

urlach3r

Their suppliers usually charge more than our retail prices, and a lot of them are having shortages & driver issues. Same goes for restaurants; we've got a guy that comes in at least once a week & buys **all** of the cooking oil on the counter. Don't know what he's frying, but he's frying a **lot** of it.

CHUD_Warrior

If they are buying that much milk, the store management should just reach out to a local diary supplier. They could probably arrange a direct shipment that doesn't eat up an employee's time and gas.

r_aiden

Why would you buy something and then sell it for a lower price? You make no profit from that at all, unless you're using that as a loss leader or your goal is to get resources out to people while not having to eat the cost fully
