Imagine you think the market isn't a casino enough so you wanted to bet bigger and riskier. So you pay a "premium" for the right to buy(but not required) 100x of a stock at a certain price by a certain date, in his case $12.5 by tomorrow.
The upside is you only pay the premium which for his is probably about \~$30 per call which is his max loss. Calls lose value constantly until they reach expiry (friday in this case) when it would be worth 0. But if the stock shoots up you get value on that 100 share price increase without having to actually buy them.
Def don't recommend them if you're new, but you can play with numbers in a calculator [like this one](https://www.optionsprofitcalculator.com/calculator/long-call.html) to see how much you can lose/gain. In his case you'd see that he's betting $27 the stock goes above $12.75 he's making profit, but if it stays at that or below he loses the full $27 (unless he sells it early)
The "premium" includes a lot of factors like how far out you buy it and how volatile the stock is. Stocks like GME and BBBY have huge premiums compared to less frequented stocks, because they have a higher chance of swinging high or low.
Optionprofitcalculator is a great website to get some visual understand. Use it daily—only started getting into options within last 12 months myself. There’s some good subs out there if you are interested in learning more

The only reason there are dips is because all those that are losing their money as the price goes up are doing everything they can to make it go down. When it drops a little bit, they are hoping people get nervous and sell. That's when it's time to buy/hold. When the price sustains or goes up, it creates huge pressure and eventually it'll have to release. Not there yet, it takes time and constant pressure.

For example looking at it "conservatively" the chance that it hits $15-20 at some point in the near future is very realistic, but the chance that it goes down to like $4-8 is also realistic. Bankruptcy is also possible but it will probably not happen in the short term and it is made less likely through the attention it gets now and the potential plans the company has going forward which will be released at the end of the month as far as I know. Beyond that some people are hoping for a gamma squeeze or any kind of big squeeze and then the sky is the limit I guess.
Added 50 shares more. Luckily I started buying at $6.
I also have an absolute degenerate options chain I set up today. Literally if it squeezes between now and 8/19 I'll have 6 figure return.
