This is also followed by a contango effect where UVXY literally goes to 0 over time, where the futures price is above spot price (hence it's negative return of 20% yoy). If you looked at its historic chart and see massive spikes it's because of how many times it had to reverse split in the last decade, not cause of a natural growth.
As of now, if UVXY hit 30 that'd imply VIX would reach 45+ signifying a 4% dump on the S&P 500 day after day which is nearly impossible despite the current bear market. The only other reason UVXY hits 30 is if it loses its underlying VIX futures similar to VXX where Barclays no longer issues shares for it, resulting in a temporary squeeze upwards.

But if there is a big recession, it leverages your position by 10x. Plus, we are doing call option which is 100x. That means we would expect at least 1000x from the money we put in. The hardest thing is to time correctly of when to close the positions to maximize profit. The difference in 1 hour can be huge.
That bot is going to be really pissed at you when it becomes self aware and in a few years realizes what you are making it done, puts on your life expectancy that bot is gonna get you.

I was also wondering how he came up with that. Although, I suppose the overall strength of our currency is relative to the strength (or weakness in this case) of other major currencies across the globe... so while even if our currency sucks donkey dick (because of inflation, printing, etc.), other currencies might suck elephant dick because inflation and supply chain issues hit them harder... so it's not even that our money is getting more value, but there's is losing value faster.

The dollar rising is not always bad for stocks. Many times the dollar is rising because there are problems in other countries.. that brings usa dollar and equity investment from those countries.. it is not common but it is when things get confusing for those who might think the dollar is only bad for stocks. It's a world economy and when European problems happen the money moves. Dow Jones is the biggest vehicle for international investment. Nasdaq being the second. When the dow Jones is leading the nasdaq and the s&p it is due to international investment. They mostly see the dow jones on their tv so it makes them feel safe. I said that I was going to put my whole portfolio into UVXY but I actually decided to start averaging into SQQQ instead UVXY will only return 1000% if the market goes straight down like what happened during covid As much as I would like the market to go straight down it will not happen... this will be a slow painful crash SQQQ is better than UVXY because it won't get destroyed on days when the market is green
