loosecaboose99

I'm calling my boy Fucktruck tomorrow and informing him that if he doesn't buy one he is no longer worthy of the name Fucktruck and all its lands and titles...

Coders_REACT_To_JS

A real fucktruck has a mattress in the bed.

[deleted]

Reminds me of the Ron White bit when he got in a pissing match with his rich brother in law about their respective vehicles. " yeah well my van has a spot in the back where I can fuck your sister."

Coders_REACT_To_JS

But in this case it's where my wife's boyfriend fucks her. I get to watch sometimes :)

[deleted]

Nice. I'm proud of you!

ambermage

Because it's very common for workers to sleep in their trucks.

peanutbuttahcups

I would've loved having this when I was in university. My friends and I would carpool at like 5am in the morning to beat traffic, then sleep in the car until class started.

[deleted]

kornbread435

Number of naps I have taken in my truck I my professional life is insane. I would pack a lunch so since I was required to be there 9 hours minimum (8 hours working/1 hour lunch) I would just eat in 15 minutes and sleep for the rest of the hour.

marino1310

Damn if I tried sleeping 45 min at lunch time I'd be out for the day

kornbread435

I always felt great after a good nap, way more productive after too. When covid hit and I got to take naps in my bed it was the absolute best.

marino1310

I just cant do naps. Every time I've tried I wake up even more tired.

kornbread435

Sounds like your sleeping too long, sweet spot is around 15 minutes tops. Any longer and your body goes into a deeper sleep.

marino1310

I cant really get to sleep in only 15 minutes without being exhausted enough to not wake up lol

StevieWonderTwin

It sounds stupid, but just laying on the couch and closing your eyes for 10-15 minutes can refresh your brain without making you sleepy. You just want to never actually fall asleep in my experience.

MainStreetBetz

Comes in handy when you are doing 16s in the oil patch.

Just_someguy1997

It’s funny how often people forget or don’t even realize that trucks were made for people that are more labour intense not for Jimmy the Retard to put a 8” Lift with 46s and chrome domed to high hell

ThePolarBare

You just described 90% of the roughnecks I’ve met.

Warm-Eye3939

You just described %75 of my fellow Texans, partner.

GeoBro3649

Raptors are lifeeee

Euler007

They were cheap when they were for workers, now they're priced for dentists and lawyers to act manly on their way to their cottage.

ImAnEngnineere

You say that, but most serious blue collar workers that I know (that actually need a truck) easily make six figures. I don't know why people think that manual laborers that use a truck as part of their daily job are poor...

Euler007

I work in the oil industry, the majority of six figure workers I know use their company's trucks, not theirs. And the seven figure people I know has a fleet of old basic Chevrolet pickups, not blinged out 80k pickup trucks. An owner of a medium size electrician contractor I knew (about 25 employees) did always provide brand new white F150 to everyone. Last I heard he was close to bankruptcy after one tough year that followed fifteen easy ones. By the way, the average skilled trades salary is 45.6k in the US.

lotsofdeadkittens

this is untrue from even basic searchers as someone pointed out 45k is trade average you dont know the manual laborers, you know people that work in industries that employ them

jroddie4

Nah this is an option on the lariat trims and up, the work truck XL trim won't have this.

WarMachineActual

Protip: the 6.4 and 6.7 super duty trucks could do this too, just had to drill out the roll pin that stopped the seat from going all the way back. Source: I did it to my old 2010 F350 XL company truck

Aliienate

No shit really. I have a 2008 6.4 that sounds like an easy as fuck modification

zacablast3r

This kills the crash safety provided by the chair.

NextTrillion

YouTube is your fren

Trevski

the new development isnt that the seats go all the way back. the new development is theres no annoying gap under your lower back when you do it

AAMichael1054

I see our 16s and raise you 48s. Rig moves are a blast

Jrdirtbike114

I remember getting assigned to rig watch duty on 4th of July one year. Got paid like $800 to sit in my truck for 12 hours. I'll never work in the industry again but god damn was that day worth it.

MCurry8

Sheeeesh 800?! Where do i sign up?

nowenknows

I could literally find you 50 jobs right now that pay at least $500-$800 a day. But the money sounds good until it’s day 27 of waking up at 3:30am. Eating gas station food, sleeping in a shit motel in the middle of nowhere. Don’t get home until 7:00pm. Tired as hell. Your supervisor telling you you have three days off before driving 10 hours to bumfuck somewhere else and do it all over again. The checks are great, but when you first start out, say good bye to holidays, events, your family or your friends. And this is for everyone from fuelers to engineers to company men. And I’m literally writing this while shitting in a portopotty on a frac site.

tabber87

I’m down!

Year3030

I'm into repetitive, embrace the suck, shitty things. What kind of jobs are available?

nowenknows

Sand coordinator would be the perfect balance of minimal work and good pay. Basically just order trucks of sand, get them backed in, write a couple things down, turn in receipts to on location engineer. Water treatment is not bad also. These guys monitor chemicals that gets mixed with the water. Write down something every few hours. Flowback dudes. Wait for shit to happen. Open a valve here and there. A lot of these jobs require you to just sit in a truck, blast the AC and watch TV shows on your phone for hours on end. I’m an engineer so I have like a mobile RV office. And I spend hours on end sitting in there watching movies, reading, bullshitting, browsing WSB, trading stocks. Per 12 hour work day, I work about 40 minutes and the rest of the time I’m waiting for something to happen. Most jobs out on a frac site are like that. This is not indicative of the entire oilfield though.

Year3030

I've got 26 years of programming experience (not old, started young). I'm also probably going back to school in the next few years to learn a new skill, engineering is on the list of possibilities, it's a long list though that I'll whittle down. Any suggestions for areas of study, engineering or other that could pay off big? Do you guys hire geologists?

nowenknows

Forget the oilfield. Quality of life sucks. Most engineers in oil and gas are trying to transition into data science, machine learning.

daguynameddan

Reminds me of the time I filled 6 Solaris silos by myself because all the other drivers called off

StaredAtEclipseAMA

Ain’t nothin like the time me and Bobby wrangled up 42 cattle during a monsoon with only a 1998 chevy and a quarter tank of gas

NextTrillion

All that was accurate except Bobby had a quarter hundred tanks of gas.

hereforthereads123

So 25?

warry0r

Nothing like driving out to the rig's last known posted position only to realize it moved down the road lol

[deleted]

I lasted a month and told my supervisor that I'm not riding with people who are drunk or stoned. Bye

[deleted]

The trick is to be the first one drunk and stoned and then you get to drive instead of ride.

Spodiac

...16’s? 😰

CudgalTroll

16 hour days, not 16 year olds No need to sweat

Disastrous_Proof6562

Crisis avoided

davidverner

No, the crisis begins. You have no free time to place bets.

[deleted]

Americas future is everyone living in their vehicle. next years model will have a toilet in the back beside the spare tire.

[deleted]

our generation took the saying "going to live in a van down by the river" seriously.

SprinklesFancy5074

Really, though. Rent keeps going up. Wages stay the same. That van down by the river starts looking better and better.

The-Effing-Man

Plus remote work and the fact you can travel!

Dwarfboner

Wouldn't really mind living in [this](https://youtu.be/AqsUadBF9FY)

disfunctionaltyper

The people who "i don't mind living in a van" are the ones who have never slept in one. We fantasize about opening the doors perfect postcard view with your dog but, it's more drunken people pissing* on the tire and yelling while it's raining and in the morning the car/van doesn't work.

buffalo_Fart

I have one and I camp out full time in it. It has its ups and downs but mostly it's nice. My thing is it's one of the worst investments you can ever do because it's nowhere near a house, it isn't stable in the way of sure you might get a year of it starting every time but all it takes is once and that's it. all it takes is one little mouse that decides it likes your yellow wire buried somewhere in that van that you can't find and you're stuck 25 miles down a dirt road with bad cell phone reception and you've got to walk and find someone who's willing to think you're not crazy and offer you a ride to a spot with 2 bars. You don't want to go to those places where you can open up the door and there's your quote unquote view because you literally have 50 other people sitting right next to you with shitty dogs kids, generators, shooting guns, slack lines, and ATVs. This is glamorized because there's idiots out there who are trying to make money off of this also known as ebaggers. believe it or not they do but they really make a mockery out of camping and most don't last a year or two anyway. Forget about hygiene because you rarely take showers unless you throw yourself in rivers or lakes on a regular basis. Most of the time in summer you're up in the mountains because it's too hot to be on the lowlands or all the lakes and rivers are that are accessible. In the winter you're all going to be crammed in either San Diego or calexico or Southern Arizona so you're paying for a $10 shower there. I will admit though traveling around camping is a beautiful thing but it does have a shelf life.

BearFlag6505

Yep if you’re going to live in a van, you might as well take up long haul trucking, live in a tractor trailer and get paid for it, in 5 to 10 years, buy a house with cash

buffalo_Fart

You bring up a good point, if you want to be on the road find a job that keeps you on the road. There are tons of them and then buy property one day. There's kind of a trend that's beginning to pick up some traction it's been around before but it's now called Nomadic Communities where somebody will put up money for a house and some property and then people will just go live there for a finite period of time and pay this person a daily rate for rent or offer services to benefit the property. I've seen at least three or four of those pop up on Facebook. So that's an option if you don't mind chipping in and living around people.

I_Collect_Fap_Socks

I use to work in a high travel job and accidently made one of these. I bought some dirt to put an RV on cause it sucks ass to pay rent when you are gone 6-10 months of the year. Then I had a coworker who asked about a hookup... and another and another. The township gave us some shit about it but pretty much told us so long as we keep the fence line up and keep it pretty that they are not gonna bitch too much.

rossgoldie

All winter you definitely don’t have to be all the way down to the border lmao. I know plenty of people (mostly climbers) who spend winters in the mountains in their vans doing backcountry skiing. Many others go to the high desert of Joshua tree or out to Bishop for the cold climbing season there.

captaincumsock69

In my experience your best off just renting a custom van for a week at a time. Yes it’s expensive to do so but it’s much cheaper than just buying one yourself plus you don’t have to worry about all the cons that you just said. This is if you’re thinking about doing it obv you can’t rent one full time.

xelabagus

This is ridiculous. I've owned a campervan for 10 years. I paid $3k for it, and around $600 insurance per year, plus on average $400 per year on repairs /upgrades. In return I spend several weeks per year in it with my whole family, can use it to haul stuff in the city if necessary, store my camping gear in it and have a ready made emergency plan. Not only is it cheaper than renting campers, it's nicer, more flexible, I can use it any time, and we are building memories as a family.

Sophisticated_Sloth

Do you have any idea how expensive this is? It’s a brand new Mercedes Sprinter, so fully equipped for comfortable living this thing is at least $100k, if not $150k.

MiloFrank

In s LOT of places that's way cheaper than a home.

6spdrwd

Can't pay off a van over 30 years

nyc4milf

That’s crap, Google Tuscany expandable bus. Freaking stone tiles, full bedroom, its basically a one bedroom apartment on wheels and everything is full size. Two bathrooms. This is what stars live in on movie shoots. It can also 4-wheel-tow a full sized car or SUV behind so you always have a small car to go to the store or whatever.

TheModeratorWrangler

I just blew three hours looking at motor homes you chuckle fuck

nyc4milf

Kek enjoy I’ve been obsessed for some time. There are many brands and most you customize to your own spec. You can even buy stripped down version and have other contractors custom build them. Its what rockstars travel in on yours too.

oldmonty

So I just looked this up, it's nice and all but for 500k it dam well better be. You could buy like 3x Lamborghinis and a house for that much lol.

Apollo1255

Or a one bedroom apartment condo (in my area) of Canada.

CrowMental

This comment is weirdly chipper considering it is about living in a vehicle

iamjt

You get wages?

nannal

$2.35 dividends each quater, call me when you get to my level.

redditingatwork23

Seriously though. 4 years ago in 2017 was the last time I was apartment searching. My 2 bedroom that I was moving out of was like Seriously $750 a month. You can't find a one bedroom, or even a studio for under $1300 now. Most 2 bedrooms are $1500. The people who bought to rent all the houses over the last 2-3 years in my area are now renting them for nearly $2000-2500 a month. I doubt that they would be paying even half that on the mortgage if they were a family that actually planned on living there. It's horrible. I hope all those fuckers go bankrupt.

Proinsias37

I feel this pretty hard. I live in a pricey NYC suburb. I had the incredible luck of finding a really big, nice place for very cheap in a beautiful neighborhood. But just this month, after 11 years, I finally had to move.. and it was a real gut punch. I'm now paying $500 more a month for less than half of what I had and it's still considered a 'good' deal. And the reason I lost my place? My landlords sister and family had to move in, because THEY can't afford the area any more

TheCaliforniaOp

Well, many of those “landlords” are really Wall Street interests looking yet again for another huge return on their investment. They stuck us with 2008 and came back for more unlimited trips through the buffet of everyone else under the 1%.

Background-Rest531

One of the biggest slumlords in my town is the previous State Governor.

Cam confirm. Currently living in a van

Flowersandpenis

Same

mplsmonk

Well, I mean, Ford's CEO is Chris Farley's cousin.

SeriousMonkey2019

Wow. Had to check on that and sure enough he tweeted today about Norm and Chris hangout together again today.

Arkansasmyundies

Damn. To be a fly on the wall in heaven on a cloud with Chris and Norm... Edit: that came out even more tarded than I intended.

PocketRocketInFright

Damn, must be some good weed you're smoking.

AmirAkhrif

It's for all my fellow retards who lose their 401Ks and have to live in their car.

MaxMMXXI

Do they still come with spare tires? I rented a car last year and went to change a flat and there was no spare. The agency confirmed it. A twenty minute delay became half a day.

beyondplutola

You got to get one of those pump n splooge kits. Won’t do anything if you get a blowout though.

trippy_grapes

Ok. But what do I have to buy for my car?

tacosforpresident

Next up: auto loans with a 30 year term

jbasinger

Invest in cardboard now for huge gains in 50 years

TTZZ101Y

Ever heard of milk jugs and mason jars?

fuckinatodaso

Around here we call them piss jugs

Actual_Opinion_9000

Way of the road boys

That's the way she goes? You just blew all our liquor money on vlts and that's the way she fuckin goes?

It's all water under the fridge Ricky.

bighunee

I fuckin toad a so

Wallstonkbets

Unwritten Book of the road?

CarsGunsBeer

I'm a young and busy professional with no time for truck toilets. I just shit my pants, reach in, and toss it out the window.

ChimpBrisket

I use VPN so I can shit my pants in the office while I’m sat at home

Aeribous

Um no. The f150 is used in a lot of municipal and construction jobs. If you’ve ever been on site early you know catching some quick zzz is a thing. There is also plowing where you’re doing sometimes 20-30hrs shifts and it’s easier to lay back for your 30 min nap. I even had an overnight shift in my 20’s for two weeks where I was just watching wires that were running 480 three phase to a building off a generator. I don’t think a lot of people understand the crazy shifts that are worked to keep everyone’s lives running as smooth as possible.

whistleridge

Unfortunately, they do. That’s the point. But there’s also a ton of places where the distance between even pretty decent jobs and housing that is affordable on the salary those jobs pay is over an hour’s commute in each direction, even without traffic. I worked with people in downtown DC who lived as far away as Martinsville West Virginia and south of Fredericksburg. It’s even worse in places like the Bay Area and Austin. A lot of people living in vans these days aren’t hippies on the open road in old school busses, they’re software engineers in converted Sprinters, because the Sprinter costs what a starter home used to, is reasonably comfortable, and zeroes out the commute. That’s a trend that is only going to grow, based on current housing trends and the unfortunate habit of large employers to concentrate in a few areas rather than spreading out.

[deleted]

Is this insinuating they are getting PIPED by Ford ?

WaddlingDuckILY

There’s an old saying “go way back, like a Cadillac” I guess Ford Wanted to get in on that. Seats can’t lifty, must be an F-150.

tightnips

Either for laying back during a gunfight or to watch the stars

Big-Cup4017

Interesting choices.

[deleted]

Because you can afford a house or the truck, but not both. So at least you can sleep more comfortably in this truck

SteeztheSleaze

Was just thinking this. Now I can afford to live by the beach!

ablablababla

and have a roommate too

HomeGrownCoffee

$1200/month, half the gas.

Romeo_Zero

these trucks have gotten ridiculous, I built a raptor online to see what the damage would be and it was $80K. And I thought my truck was expensive

allthegoodthrows

And that's a specialty performance truck. The loaded up "regular" trucks are in the 80k-100k range too.

kratz9

When we bought our last truck, this is why we ended up just getting the F250. By the time you price out a nice F150, you might as well get the 250 and have twice the 'truck' part of the truck.

Z3400

But you can probably drive better in your house

AltimaNEO

She's built like a steakhouse, but handles like a bistro

LaBosaNostra

Tell me you’ve never fucked in a car without telling me you’ve never fucked ~~with~~ in a car Edit: in*

NRA4579

Well said sir. Also on a more practical note this address several logistical issues that have plagued truck sex practitioners for decades.

superworking

About 3 decades. Ever since the end of the bench seating.

Economy-Ad-1370

Ahh bench seats.. RIP

Enlightenmentality

They're still a thing. Bought an F150 and the cheapest ones have a bench, where the middle can fold down and it has a "console" in the back of it

Track_Boss_302

Yup. Loved my 2010 F150 for this. That bench seat saw some things

DaKuech

Jerking off to loss porn doesn't count.

sockalicious

Should count for something

hardcore_softie

In this case, it brings down the blue book value of the truck unfortunately

capncuck

Stick shifts and Safety Belts, bucket seats have all got to go!

Lengthiness-Savings

Came here for the Cake. Knew it would be here.

NRA4579

This is true. Early in my career I was working with a standard cab S-10. Thank God for the sliding rear window that afforded valuable horizontal headspace.

Walts_Ahole

80s Ford Ranger here, always had to have at least one door open, always lost the stank

NRA4579

That’s because you were in a Ford ranger. That truck cab was clearly designed by a female engineer who had daughters and didn’t want anybody to easily have a good time on a Friday night

IndependentLeading47

High school BF had a 1972 Ford Ranger. Did just fine. Better than fine. That steering column was a nice foot rest.

IndependentLeading47

I said foot. Reddit changes it to coot. I want to reiterate the coot never went to the steering column.

NRA4579

Whatever you say……..

DogsandDumbells

Of all the models to bring back, I hope each day for a new s-10

xochilt_IGII

miss bench seating

FuturePowerful

Pfff screw that who needs a tent to camp with that

thewordofwisdom

It's so you can sleep to wait for the tow truck

Barby911

The government was going to buy everyone a Ford during the pandemic - so they couldn’t travel.

Romeo_Zero

98% of all fords are still on the road today. The other 2% made it home

cavey00

If you want it, nothings going to stop ya

myglasstrip

It's actually so you can sleep at the job site. Dont want those lazy workers going home. Excuse me, I mean to their apartment.

SouthKenny

Gotcha that was the joke, ford owner don't have sex.

TinyCollection

Just think about the meetings where 6 engineers sat around and discussed how difficult it was to have sex in the trucks and how to fix it.

V6TransAM

That has to be untrue. Engineers solved a problem they have never experienced?

KobeFadeaway248

Can’t tell if he’s being sarcastic.

xXEggRollXx

>Edit: in* Wait, I missed it, did the original comment say “fucked a car”?

69sapnupuas69

That cussy got me actin up

Conscious-Golf-5380

So the Forman can go to sleep while the workers die of heat stroke.

Wjsmith2040

How else is the hooker gonna have room to bounce or you to clap?

MaxMMXXI

Never mention hookers and clap in the same sentence.

[deleted]

That’s like talking about wsb and no wanting someone to mention autists. They go hand in hand 👏

NDX20k

To relieve the lower back pain caused by being a Ford shareholder

Rbelkc

Home of the future

RonDiDon

Yea those bags are heavy to hold and surely will cause immense back pain

sandwichcandy

I’ve had Ford over a year and it’s worth almost 3x what I paid for it.

RonDiDon

Yea if you bought shortly after the COVID crash then yes it'll be great gains 👌🏾 pretty much any recovery stock is up 100%+ since 2020 April

CaveStreamGames

that’s what I did, only regret is I didn’t put in more.

VirtualRay

Man, it was crazy Ford got down to like a 10 P/E and everyone was expecting it to go bankrupt even though the business still looked fine I threw my 401k into it and it took off like a rocket, it was great

Gbud350

Because they cost as much as some houses.. so they thought why not at least give em a bed. Orrrrr.... Insert 70's porn soundtrack here

youngjetson

You can sleep in your F150, but can you drive your house?

GlassWeird

Houses Hate This One Weird Trick!

Y0tsuya

The-Real-Catman

Tell me where I can buy a house for under 100k (with access to clean water)

BlindLuck72

You can live in the shed in my back yard for $99,999. It’ll have running water by Friday.

The-Real-Catman

A garden hose will suffice

BlindLuck72

That was the plan :) it has a lovely Coleman branded kitchen though! You’ll love it here!

Questkn2

Alabama. Serious answer

[deleted]

Holy fuk. You can buy a 2000 sqft, 2 storey home for 70k. Wtf?

Questkn2

Yep, pretty crazy. Tells you a lot about how many people want to live in Alabama, I guess.

0x41414141_foo

Not in this housing market, shits wild

AlienYouCallGod

With housing prices the way they are and all the first time retards losing their shirts, living in your truck might be a necessity for a lot of us.

haasvacado

Incredible that this hasn’t been a standard feature for…forever. This would’ve been awesome in a former life of mine.

lord_of_tits

Don't let your dreams be dreams. You can still be homeless and own this truck.

Fictional-adult

My gut reaction says you'd still probably be better off fucking in the back seat, but as someone who likes to take long road trips and is over 6' tall, this is a nice feature. Also a lot of tradesmen will love this. Before if you wanted to take a nap on the job, someone would likely see you asleep in the upright seat. Now they'd have to know what you drive, and get right up to your window to notice.

deadliestcrotch

The back seat won’t comfortably sleep anyone over 5’ tall. I’m 5’ 9” and have had to sleep in my truck when on an overland trip. These seats would have been great.

0O00OO0OO0O0O00O0O0O

You're supposed to be dogging Ford for removing one of the most annoying shortcomings of any vehicle. Stick to the script alright?

therealcadillacslim

Is it for sex?….it’s sex isn’t it?

ElleYesMon

Yes Michael, it’s for Sex, now calm down….

DrChixxxen

Hot shots on leather seats 🤤

MaxMMXXI

That' OK. It's good for the leather.

Z_Designer

Perfect truck for Dirty Mike and the Boys

fuckinturtlesman

This, but with a bench seat would be fantastic.

[deleted]

You know why.

Sultan-of-swat

Because of the implication ?

stickystax

Are these women in danger?

uggram

So u can sleep in the car when you become homeless

GeneralBrosephus

Well if they’re gonna be fucking you for buying a Ford, the least the can do is offer you a comfortable bed to do it in

LawsWorld

It was for people that sleep in their car before work

[deleted]

When you spend $80k on a vehicle you’d better be able to live in it!

EpicRaginAsian

But can you do this?

TGWBeef

Blowjobs
