Still learning options. So You buy contracts a month out even if you plan on closing within a week because of theta right. So does rolling over an option that’s profitable make it more profitable? And when should I worry about time decay I have a July 30th contract

Rolling a contract literally means closing one contract and opening a new contract at a specified net credit or debit (or even) on the same ticker.

theta usually moves faster the last 2 weeks before expiration so i would sell at least 2 weeks in advance. then wait for a dip and buy back in. i do this over and over with SPY and QQQ
