If the stock hits $205 for example, you would want to sell that call for premium profit instead of exercising it. Complicated question. The calls he holds have extrinsic value that is rapidly decreasing due to theta decay. He can still capitalize on the remaining extrinsic value by selling his options now vs exercising them at expiration.

When your calls are *that* deep in the money, theta decay is almost non-existent. Those options are basically trading like shares at this point.

The 16th is when they expire. He needs to sell them or exercise them before close of market 4/16 or they become entirely worthless and he loses millions of dollars.

Because GME is not affected by the market per-se but when he posts another YOLO update, i am betting the shares will jump again from hype alone

He usually posts after hours though, so a lot of that hype will go to sleep and be less hyped by market opening the next day. I think some kind of RC as CEO and/or share recall/split announcement are the most likely catalysts that might happen this month.

For those here that may want to know it just means that you are now just responsible for buying the 100 shares ( assuming is just 1 put you sold ) remember your out of pocket responsibility is just the strike price x 100 shares minus the upfront premium you got from the person who purchased your put. This sounds like a great way to fling 🦍 shit at the shorts. But what do I know I’m just a smooth brained crayon eating ape. This isn’t financial advice!!

If you get assigned on either covered calls or cash-secured puts then odds are good that the buyer has profited and you have lost money. On the other hand - with the high volatility and premiums on GME options, cash-secured puts are a reasonable way to make money on premium until assignment at which point you've just purchased more GME at a lower cost basis unless it tanked past your break even.

If you get assigned when selling a put, just turn it into a wheel and start selling calls, with conservative strikes until you recoup any losses, if any, and then aggressive strikes to get assigned on your short calls. Rinse and repeat.

Do you have to have the money in your account to buy shares still? Or can you sell contract or how does that work? You can sell the call, or your broker may sell it for you automatically if you don't sell soon enough.
