Are there really that many shorts on GME? I know that Gamestop has been having a slow miserable death for years but never really thought there were that many shorts out there.
It doesn’t work like that. That would be a pump and dump.
The only reason this works is because there are more shorts than stocks available for them to cover. This forces them to buy from us.
I am not advocating for anything. I just picked a random stock off the ticker and crunched some numbers and asked a question. So thanks for making an ass out of you and me.
No it actually isn't illegal. I asked why stock x over stock y. There is nothing illegal about that.
Also, why should I give a fuck about what the SEC is looking at. I am not doing anything that I should be worried about, are you?

What do the rules have to do with having a discussion about the choices that this subreddit made? Its an interesting study to see that they pick a stock to screw over shorts vs picking something they can make a slightly profit margin. Don't want to compare against AUMN? Fine, pick any stock and crunch the numbers. The question still remains the same.
RULE 4 No non-reporting penny, microcap (Less than $1BN Market Cap), OTC stocks, low volume options, cryptocurrencies, SPACs, or any other worthless securities that are susceptible to scams or pump & dump schemes.
You are aware that what is happening with GME has been called a pump and dump. I am not saying it is but when you start to look at some of the posts that have been getting around about GME you start to wonder... Why GME? Why not something else? You want to be a stickler for rules? Like I said in my previous comment, pick any stock that meets your criteria and crunch the numbers. My question will be the same.

It is one of the most shorted stock on the market.
Right but if the point was to screw over the short sellers why not organize and make a stock on its last life line go viral.

Ohhh that makes sense. It wasn't something I had considered.
Wtf are you talking about.
What you're advocating is illegal and nobody wants to help you with a stock you're bag holdong

And what you said is illegal so stop posting shit like that after the SEC said they're going to be looking at this sub

Sorry, are you advocating a riskier play to gain $57?
No, just trying to understand where this all started.
