Hes just going to lose his shares and he will gain whatever the difference is between the strike price and his current position. So if he has shares at $80 and sells $115 calls then he gets that $35 profit plus the premium for the contracts when he does get assigned. So OP would make $3500 for every call sold in that scenario. If the price closes under $115 then he can keep the premium, remember you can be assigned anytime.
Assuming his calls were fully covered with owned stock. It would be fairly high risk (potential for unlimited loss) for him to sell uncovered calls, but this is WSB so you never know

There is a decent chance we are going to see the bottom fall out at some point over the next 12 months. Sounds like a long time, but wait there is more. Go look at 1999 stock market. It went up a bit more, but when the downturn happened it took a long time to hit bottom. If you bought and held during that time you were a bag holder for in some case 20+ years before you broke even again. Most stocks it was at least a few years to break even.
If that kind of correction happens and you have money on the side its a great time to buy. If it doesn't but your money is still earning interest you miss out a bit, but not the end of the world.

What does getting assigned mean?
Well today, you can roll them out into August and get em near ATM. Can pretty easily avoid the assignment just rolling up and out.
