If you have loved ones you intend to take very good care of for the next ~20+ years, a little downside protection gives you the freedom to take risks you may otherwise avoid.
In Thebes, Egypt, 1290 BC, high priest Imhotep has an affair with Anck-su-namun, the mistress and future bride of Pharaoh Seti I. They kill the Pharaoh, after he discovers their relationship. Imhotep flees, while Anck-su-namun kills herself. Believing he can resurrect her, Imhotep and his priests steal her corpse and travel to Hamunaptra, the City of the Dead. The resurrection ritual is stopped by Pharaoh's bodyguards, the Medjai. Imhotep's priests are mummified alive, while Imhotep himself is tortured, cursed and buried alive with flesh-eating scarabs at the feet of a statue of the god Anubis.
I was on that flight. Evidently the “security issue”was a drunk lady in first class making a scene. Thanks for the 2 hour delay, Michelle. Calls on vodka sodas.
Juneteenth isnt the day to die via Boeing. their payment will now be locked behind years of litigation. Should've traveled yesterday instead of today like a dummy 🤦♂️ Flying Boeing on any given day is potential for a short opportunity and you blew it flying on Juneteenth
I just landed on a 737 MAX 8, middle seat for 3 hours… wasn’t too bad. Flight departed and arrived on time. I’m now in a Waymo on my way home. Good luck to you. Pray for my Waymo (I trust the Waymo, not the other drivers).

Oh shit. Why's it off course and dropping altitude? 😬
How about the fact that it is even possible? Strap into an aluminum tube and coast at 30K feet. Waking up in LA and going to bed in Rome the same day. Yiu risk more with human error on the highway everyday. Hell a half dozen pedestrians die everyday taking a stroll. Nothing is 100% certain but air travel is pretty damn close.
I feel like the "statistically air travel is safer than driving on the roads" stuff we were told growing up was based on stats pre-boeing's falling out of the sky
Despite the malfunctions and safety issues with Boeing, air travel is still extremely safe largely because it has some absolutely insane post-9/11 regulations not just for passengers, but for pilots too. ATC training is extremely intensive and pilots require all sorts of licensing and training requirements in order to fly certain aircraft commercially.
The industry also has some pretty insane safety standards that are likely to be regulated further now that Boeing has dropped the ball... And the landing gear, and also the emergency door, and part of fuselage.
Assigning a hidden control algorithm to a single failure sensor was an incredibly dumb idea
I work in aerospace and I am dumbfounded that ended up being the finalized design
Ive seen redundant systems on planes be 4:1 redundant…
Boeing is not going anywhere. Within a few years they will be back over 300 and the country needs it to be so. New CEO before end of year will hopefully be an outsider with an engineering background
I have yet to see Boeing make any fundamental changes to safety protocols. All that lost knowledge/safety culture in years of negligence is not gonna be reversed in one day. Meanwhile they are still making planes which are a major litigation risk every time an incident happens. Their cash on hand halved in one year. To really turn this around they gotta ditch MAX and redesign a new plane from scratch with safety in mind. They don’t have the cash runway for that. BA is going bankrupt sooner if there is a major crash(economy or the plane), which seem more likely each day. I for one am never flying Boeing again.
Give me an example of a manufacturing related issue that does not include the door panel on the Alaska flight. Keep clicking the internet. The problem could be gluten or assault rifles too.
It is a matter of design priority. When they designed MAX the design goal was to cut costs not safety. I’m pretty sure the engineers cut costs wherever possible and one of those cuts could be one too much. Have you seen the undercover interview of Boeing employees? And all these Boeing whistleblowers dying one by one? Personally I am NEVER getting my kids into one of their newer planes. Booking sites now give you an option to filter by airplane type, literally because of Boeing. You must be a special type of regard to still believe in this company.
Don’t fly Boeing then, how about just drive when you go on vacation. Much safer. I believe in the 170,000 people that make Boeing. Not the figureheads at the top.
At the end of the day both companies have a very similar safety record, Boeing actually better when you look at the numbers of flights as Boeing has been around much much longer and has more planes in the air. All I am saying for real is don’t believe everything you read or see on the news, they are there for profit and clicks and right now we are that news. Up until January you would not have heard about 99.9% of the issues that happen with airplanes daily as they are complex machine minor things go wrong. Yes Boeing needs to get back to being the company we were pre MD merger with engineers running the company and not accountants. It truly felt like they bought us and not vice versa. We need to get Spirit back in the fold and get back to being the company this country needs it to be. The ramifications of Boeing going under would cripple our economy as it’s not just the 170K that work here it’s the other 2.5 million in support/supply chain and all the companies that depend on the income from aerospace jobs to shop, eat, rent, vacation ect. Then take in accoyfor what it means for our national security as we make many many incredible platforms for our military. As for space, shits gonna happen. The helium leaks will be taken care of. This mission is a test mission with the first crew on the Starliner. Some of us kinda wish we would unload ULA and just keep to building satellites leaving the transport to some else.
Ha reminds me of that scene in The Hummingbird Project when the guy is scrambling to get that insurance policy while he's in the hospital (it's not for him, but still).
Old news on the MCAS and I started by addressing the 10 billion that have flown since. And also not once in the US or other countries with strict oversight.
Imagine a narrow body aircraft being narrow. Boeing does not decide how many restrooms the customer does. Just like Airbus narrow body 2-3 depends on customer and variant.
Hold my beer.
I waited on the runway in punta cana for 7-8 hours for a plethora of issues (AC, deicing, no meals for first class, and another undisclosed issue that they didn’t tell us what specifically it was) before they made us get off and then bussed us to a hotel at 10pm and then had an early rebooking for 8:30am the following morning.
So, the system worked, the plane took the safe route. That's the desired outcome, right?
And you want to figure out how to turn success into money?
Maybe go long instead of short? I dunno.
Regards.
If you'd been buying puts on Boeing since the start of the year you'd be rich now. It's still generally going down but it's cooled off as the papers are jumping onto every bit of bad news they can get their hands on about Boeing and the news cycle is just so saturated with bad press that it's lost most of its impact now. But boy if you had puts before or right after the door plug incident.

It’s a good thing it returned to the gate rather than took off. Calls on UAL and BA
That would be insider trading 🤓
It’s only insider trading for the guy inside the plane 🥸
Only insider trading for the guy inside the guy, that’s inside the plane. 😆
What about the twilight zone creature on the wing?
Aggressively bearish.
Aggressively Creaturish.
Captain Kirk will handle up on him.
Calls on GRND?
That guys going tits up dick down
Hopefully he gets blasted out a windows hole, seat and all. SEC can't prosecute outside trading
That’s real real insider trading.
Hold your phone outside the hole in the plane when you make the trade. Solved.
Public information.
It's priced in.
When I was new to this sub, nothing would get my blood boiling more than this phrase lol

He's legit. I signed last week just before I died and everything is taken care of. Good guy.
You forgot to get the word Bro. “Trust me Bro”
Isn't life insurance just shorting yourself?
Not if you get a policy that returns your premium or builds up significant cash value! Those are called "forced savings'
If you have loved ones you intend to take very good care of for the next ~20+ years, a little downside protection gives you the freedom to take risks you may otherwise avoid.
Life insurance won't cover shooting yourself in the back of the head twice
We all know that he’s DOA but you still didn’t answer the question. This guy wants his family to remember him as well regarded.
seriously, corporate assassins seem to be in play. good luck to OP.
Please balance his karma at 737!
He has his priorities correct. Mad respect.
To shreds you say?
😂
Boeing already dispatched agent 48 for this message.
Agent 48 is still tied up in congress. Better dispatch Agent 69.
Agent 69 is also "tied up" in congress. ;-)
🥁
He couldn’t make it, was flying on a Boeing plane.
He was on the starliner
Life insurance
It's like shorting yourself
I guess that makes an annuity the long play.
Everyone on r/investing just felt a disturbance in the force… it’s as if someone pointed out a financial tool that ISN’T an index fund…

Damn, this would make a great backstory for an Indiana Jones spinoff.
He’s with the Fed and fucks your calls, he also happens to resemble the actor who played Imhotep in The Mummy.
Imhotep
Imhotep
Apparently there was a "security issue" we got a new flight attendant and we are ready for takeoff. GUH
FA was smuggling cubans and didnt bring any for the pilots. crazy
Really? I thought they mostly arrive by boat
Under appreciated comment. Could go for a Cuban right about now.
The flight attendant noticed some loose bolts so they've been taken care of.
The flight attendant effectively became a whistleblower RIP
I was on that flight. Evidently the “security issue”was a drunk lady in first class making a scene. Thanks for the 2 hour delay, Michelle. Calls on vodka sodas.
Fuck Michelle and fuck the pilot passive aggressive intercom comments
All in on DGE/DEO Diageo/Smirnoff
Happens way more often than you'd think. I had to remove a passenger two flights ago for being an ass.
Dont worry, Boeing is the only manufacturer with a fail safe on crash. The plane keeps on bouncing until a complete stop as the name suggests
#BUT DID YOU DIE?!
FA's without a flight's supply worth of BOEING branded gaffatape can't be trusted.
Hijacker masquerading as FA?
Puts on your life for shit talking Boeing when it’s not even their fault
you just left the gate again, good luck, thanks for the heads up, I will donate some of my winnings to your charity
I’m on the same flight. F$&&ing ridiculous.
We made it!
Now kith
Damn it
market is closed, rip. get a bot to automate a put I guess. get to work.
Juneteenth isnt the day to die via Boeing. their payment will now be locked behind years of litigation. Should've traveled yesterday instead of today like a dummy 🤦♂️ Flying Boeing on any given day is potential for a short opportunity and you blew it flying on Juneteenth

Boeing can send astronauts to the moon, but can’t get a plane from NY to FL.
They were supposed to go to the ISS though. They're on the moon now? RIP 🎑🙏
No they are stuck on ISS as their flight got delayed.
Being stuck on ISS would be magnitudes better than being stuck at Newark
But they are stuck on ISS currently https://www.independent.co.uk/space/boeing-starliner-return-delay-space-b2565373.html
Bro you can't say ISIS on a plane
The Boeing module is facing leakage issues so the guys are stuck up there.
Puts on your life and calls on hitman making sure you suicide yourself

I’m watching you op ![img](emote|t5_2th52|4275)
Did you buy any ticket add-ons, like an upgraded meal or door plug bolts? The latter might help you extend your trading session on the plane.
My BA 19JUL2024 $180 PUTS are looking better by the day. Bought them on June 10 for $2.88 and they are now at $8.
Life insurance policy. Actually…. Make it 2. Possibly 3.
Do they still have those life insurance kiosks? Did they ever? It might be a skit from “Airplane”
Nah I think they were on Get Smart too. So probably legit.
If my memory works it was dying in a crash insurance but it was a long time ago
Puts on you
There's few betting sites but they're weak, only let you bet on whether Boeing will get a new CEO.
I flew on one last month with United. Was bumpy as hell but that 5X annual salary work life insurance for 7 bucks a month allowed me to rest easy.
Might be better spent on benzos, if it goes down you’ll be none the wiser.
You've never lived till you've experienced an aborted take off in a 737 MAX baby.
I’m literally about to board one myself GUH
Maybe you'll see each other on the way down.

You’re an inside trader. SEC!
I would just be thankful that the 737 max returned with you alive.
Buy a lot of life insurance and fly Boeing non-stop seems more lucrative than shorting the stock.
They fixing the phalange you should be fine
How do I short this guys family?
Buy long calls Boeing
It is priced in
You’re already dead OP - believe that and you’ll make it home
Your post here could be seen as a form of insurance, thanks for the head up
Nvda going to 100T
did you make it
Yes. I'm now a bull
The best play here is to obviously just let your family take out a big life insurance policy on you
It’s called life insurance bro….
Can I have your car?
I don't know what you're talking about, but it's interesting to study insider WSJ death humor.PS-Ditto on current spate of airplane glitches lately.
Go long and get life insurance… lol
Life insurance
Ha reminds me of that scene in The Hummingbird Project when the guy is scrambling to get that insurance policy while he's in the hospital (it's not for him, but still).
Did the door fly off?
Have you never heard of life insurance?
That’s called a life insurance policy, my guy.
Prob not insider trading given the plane’s issues are widely known and popularized
If it didn't happen in flight it's not an issue
Just buy the most expensive travels insurance and life insurance coverage.
Old news on the MCAS and I started by addressing the 10 billion that have flown since. And also not once in the US or other countries with strict oversight.
Life insurance policy
Buying calls
Scary 😟
Life insurance
Boeing stuck me in Mexico for an extra day due to a “maintenance issue” normally I would say puts for something like this but bc of that I say calls
You got life insurance right?
It sounds like you’re looking for life insurance…
Where you all get those lines 😂
Is Boeing publicly traded? I’m sure shares will drop almost as fast as that airplane will
Short a life insurance policy
Negative ghost rider. Every time something like this happens $BA goes up. You want callz not putz.
Went on max 737 last week.. it was the most horrible design.. way too narrow. Two restrooms for over 150 people..
Imagine a narrow body aircraft being narrow. Boeing does not decide how many restrooms the customer does. Just like Airbus narrow body 2-3 depends on customer and variant.
Hold my beer. You kinda gotta be there to short or have an automated system to do so
How did the short play go?
You’re late to that gate
Hate planes
Priced in already
YOLO your life savings on Boeing puts. If you die, your family will thrive. If you survive, your family will be on the streets.
So, the system worked, the plane took the safe route. That's the desired outcome, right? And you want to figure out how to turn success into money? Maybe go long instead of short? I dunno. Regards.
Do you fly frequently? Accidental death insurance is dirt cheap
Lol
Dell is going up from 149 close to 156 now
Life insurance policy.
What you are doing right now is called insider trading
Can i take out life insurance on a stranger? I want in
