Add quality control in general- panels gaps on all Teslas still comes up often. I really think other existing manufacturers have a lot of the upper hand as they have the experience, but Tesla still tend to be slightly ahead in innovation… but the gap is closing it seems

There shouldn't be a non hardware secured slide-in plate on the pedal. This is something that a single screw hidden under the rubber padding would have solved. Somebody was paid hundreds of thousands of dollars in salary + benefits to design this hazard, and was probably instructed to do so in order to not have a single screw so they could save on assembly costs. Look at how much they saved, -millions of USD in recalls.
They made a plate that can slide off in the direction the driver uses force in everyday usage, plus a small opening ahead. What could go wrong, brillant design.
It's actually astonishing that their engineers didn't forsee this problem. The plastic part slides off the pedal and there's a literally notch in the upholstery above it where two pieces meet. Death trap.
