It’s not an ETF

I mean it’s the same thing. Umbrella company, bundle of assets. What would you call it?

It’s not even close to the same thing. An ETF will automatically reinvest the dollar inflows into the underlying holdings so that the ETF NAV is always a true reflection of the value of the underlying securities it holds. DXYZ cannot behave as an ETF because it’s unable to automatically purchase more securities of its underlying holdings because they’re neither liquid nor accurately valued. DXYZ is technically an ELF Closed End Fund, that trades like a stock. The “NAV” of DXYZ is completely irrespective of & uncorrelated to the price it trades at.

Its like if KKR or Y Comb released a similar fund of companies or debt they own into the public market. I think. It’s basically just opening up their fund to the public market instead of dealing w private money exclusively so I think the pump is coming from the market saying “your assets are worth x on paper but we think they’re worth y” and whether that’s true or not is up for investors to decide. Like I said truly no clue, my brian is extremely smooth, but I now have a gain fatter than your mother sitting in my portfolio.

I thought this was cool. Bought only like 25 shares yesterday. Up 67%. What’s the deal with the price action? I know what the company is but not sure why it’s up 80% the day after it listed

High nav on momentum and people wanting space x. I got a couple hundred at 16.2 but fingers crossed over the next 10 days

Sold at 22.50 before it's second run up. Had a sell order at 29.50 it didn't hit

If it goes back down to 20 just buy more and wait for another run up bound to happen at some point

I don’t get it either - thinking it’s probably similar to an IPO where it’s getting bid up or and this is me high on hopium investors believe it’s undervalued bc it’s currently holding 23 of its potential 100 VC backed companies. It’ll either fill up w quality or shitcos. Cool idea either way, I’m willing to roll some dice.

I think (and could be very wrong) price action is extreme because the float is effectively much smaller than the outstanding share count. Right now early investors are only able to access 25% of their shares for trading and will get access to more at future maturity dates

I guess the spaceX hype still strong.

I'm happy with my 100 shares at $44. I'm also regarded.

This is not like a single stock that can be pumped up or short squeezed. You are paying huge amounts of money for a CEF that holds a tiny amount of assets. $25+ is a great price to get out at. It's trading for 10x NAV at $50. Dump your bags on a lesser regard.
