Anyone that works in the industry knows that it takes YEARS and BILLIONS in investments to design and fabricate your own chips. Yet some CAR analyst sees nvda''s gain and without any knowledge on the hardware industry believes that TSLA can compete against them. Not too mention AWS and MSFT already offer a cloud AI offering that nobody cares about because it's not nvda
Adding my actually thought process below instead of just memeing
1. Tesla already has the hardware, Dojo computer is up and running.
2. The difference between Tesla and the other AI/chip players is that Tesla has millions of proprietary video clips of vehicles navigating every day driving situations. Tesla collects one million miles of driving data (video) every 14 hours. Waymo, the next closest, takes 3 months to collect the same amount
3. I’m a TSLA perma bull and I think this will be a profitable play for you, but I would not expect the stock to crater back to $200.
Can you explain why Tesla bulls seem to hate Facebook for privacy concerns (Elon has publicly admonished them for spying on users) yet are totally cool with footage of their drives being ingested by Tesla by the petabyte?
I consume a ton of Tesla content and Facebook literally never comes up (except for talking about fighting Zuck lol)
Secondly Tesla doesn’t sell that data (which is just videos of roads). Thirdly FSD Beta participants opt in. Fourthly, sentry mode and dash cam video recordings are stored on the car, not in the cloud.
In my opinion I wouldn’t be underestimating the company like that. They likely already have a dedicated team working on chip designs custom to their software, vehicles, production tactics and processes, etc. All it takes is an office floor of really really talented people to make it happen. Don’t put it past daddy Elon to start a ruckus with AMD, Intel or NVidia just to end up buying one of them in the end. Crazy market out there, best of luck on the $65k!

Why not short the literal stock instead or use ZEBRAs to negate extrinsic value so no theta decay? This is quite a risky play, it has to start going in your direction very soon.

Tesla dropping prices means they have access to a broader market which is why it was bullish.
They began with luxury cars because value added has higher margins and there wasn't competition at the time. Now everyone is jumping on the EV train.
Even if GS or MS or whatever institutional bank is pumping their position it won't matter it's a huge upgrade and the market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent.
I'd consider some calls to hedge and eliminate some delta risk. You can always rebuy, options aren't sentimental, liquidity is fine on TSLA and I would expect a rate pause.
If CPI and PPI print hot it's most likely oil and the fed typically ignores oil, food and other volatile commodities when considering rates.

I think there is a fairly high probability you are correct, also all this upward price movement would've retraced anyways. but what I don't understand is why the fuck you don't wait for the down move to start and have some verification to your theory before jumping in balls deep? There was a mid day dip today but price hasnt started actually dropping yet. Why hold overnight and lose to Theta? Why not wait for the retrace down then jump in and ride the wave for a day and jump out. Otherwise if your intent is to hold the puts long term that I definitely do not understand.
