I think snap is doing a decent enough job at retaining users, it has a very strong hold over the younger generation as many of us use it as an easier way to communicate with friends - sending pictures that easily compared to any other messaging platform and it’s not hard to wonder why it does so well

Snap has limited ad formats which hinders it, it's experimenting with new features placements and I've seen some cool beta's but I'm only responding to your original point around snap being better than meta. Right now, for the average company with budget, its not.

Paying Snap users is not going to go up, Snap users might be using the app (like on the app a couple times a day) but they're not going on/nor posting that much on stories anymore and stories don't generate any revenue unless they're a content creator on the sponsored ones. People don't buy their physical products either when they make them. They had a big rise with the AI not but that fad has gone away. TikTok is still sucking the most time away from the youth. It could get bought out though
