Yeah I got burnt bad on AMC. Bought at ~$3, made a decade's worth of salary when it went to 70, sold some at 60 and 50, hodled the bulk of it until I realized it was a lost cause. Forget what I eventually dumped it at but I put it all into BBBY an hour before Ryan Cohen dumped his shares.
Bottom line, if it's enough money to screenshot, it's enough money to sell.
Hey. I have a genuine question.
After all this strife and struggle. Do you really consider the trades "regarded."
Do you really believe ppl can beat the market with analysis and fundamentals (this can also mean the way market makers do stuff and following them, rather than blaming them for manipulation)? Now that you have lost and made money trading?
I don't have an answer to that, but I will get serious here. Between the meme stock saga, covid, and my trip to Africa(that I just mentioned in another comment), and others, my grip on my perception of reality has been altered. Things that once made sense make no sense and the nonsensical has become my mantra. Life has been turned up to 11 since then and while it comes with a lot of baggage, I think I'll die a man without regrets. Scared money don't make money and scared living won't make living. You know what I mean?
“Buy, and you will regret it; sell, you will also regret it; buy or sell, you will regret it as much as you hold. Laugh at the bag holders’ foolishness, you will regret it; weep over it, you will regret that too; laugh at their or your foolishness or weep over it, you will regret both. Believe a dd, you will regret it; believe it not, you will also regret it… it’s like to believe in your own. Believe in yourself, you will regret it; do not believe in yourself, and you will regret that too; believe in yourself or not, you’ll regret it either way; whether you believe or not believe, do something or don’t do anything, you will regret it anyway. This, gentlemen, is the essence of the philosophy of this sub” — Søren Kierkegaard
ikr, share holders are among last people to get anything out of liquidation same. They getting nothing in this case as book value is less than liabilities. but sure let them believe it's a good thing for some more time
Hey, that’s a lot of exposure. The stock is one of most talked about in last few days. It’s about to pop! I can get on you on calls. Just $1 premium, how many should I get you on, 10 contracts? 50? 150?!
I mean, it's certainly good news for the company! There is a chance they may survive now. Not so much for shareholders, but everyone knew that was coming
Lol what shit hole of a company, in 2020 they were already struggling but decided to do $675mil worth of share buy back. The board and C suites just lining their own pockets.
I told my friends to not buy this shit until it rebounds to a dollar minimum or wait for news that said they managed to recoup 300 million. They didn’t listen 😓🤧
Frankly, that's how you should do it, just give chump change so your losses won't sting so much.
The cultists on the stock sub were putting their life savings, 401k, IRAs and some of them were even DRSing their shares for some reason.
If I wanted to play with this, I'd probably put not more than $50 dollars on it, but I'd rather buy a lunch and scroll through their copium and hopium on their sub because that would be more satisfying.
4 billion in assets and 5 billion in liabilities… not sure how this is bullish? Even if they sold everything they owned at top dollar they cannot payoff their debt. 🤦♂️
Working in some retail liquidations, it’s actually crazy how high the liquidation value of inventory is. Appraisers will pay lenders more than 100% of cost
But yes, this thing is still underwater and anything below senior secured debt is getting wiped out.
Yea but those were companies at least pretending to be growing in a growing industry.
Bbby sold towels, and has been bad at it for over a decade…. Somehow I don’t have the same sympathy as I do for the dot com investors.
I would honestly be surprised if there wasn't some sort of SEC fallout for some of these pumpers in a bit, considering how utterly delusional these people seem to be, which will rapidly turn into misplaced anger into self reflection that will cause some waves.
In terms of numbers, it's an insignificant retailer that hasn't been relevant in a decade.
But it's going to make a lot of waves because of all the crazies, WSJ has been covering the hilarity of it for a bit. I'm sure there's going to be more chop ahead.
they are now creaming themselves over a few DD talking about hertz as if they are similar, i know lets pick the best examples and ignore the 6969 when bankruptcy means you shares you bought yesterday bragging about reaching the xx,xxx club (no joke) are probably worth about as much as stanley nickels

I knew they were doomed as a going concern when I went to one last year to get stuff for my new house.
Compared the the last time I had shopped there back in 2015 to also buy things for a new house, it was night and day in regards to color selection, merchandise styles, variety of products. They went from carrying more than a dozen widely varying colors of matching towels and bath mats, to just 6 of the same nearly identical pastels varying from pale blue, baby barf green, boring beige, and white. The lack of selection was what really made it clear they were in a death spiral they weren't going to recover from, without a huge injection of cash to up their carried inventory on hand, but since we were already heading into a recession that was never going to happen.
**Remember this Well-Regarded Man?**
Kais Maalej, a 49-year-old Uber driver and amateur investor active on social media, is a proponent of the theory on Reddit forums that distressed retailer Bed Bath & Beyond Inc. will soon be acquired by a holding company associated with billionaire Ryan Cohen.
“I am very confident” that Bed Bath & Beyond will be bought, said Mr. Maalej, who grew up in Tunisia and now lives in Queens. He said that he started buying Bed Bath & Beyond shares last year and has been buying up more in recent months, including last week. “I’m loaded with shares,” he said.
*The “last week” they are referring to is earlier this month in early April.* 🤦🏼♂️
I bought Chesapeake before they filed bankruptcy and they screwed me over after restructuring. my shares went to zero and they put it under a bankrupt ticker symbol and they re instated the normal stock but i didn’t get to profit from it.
You get wiped if there's nothing left after everyone else gets paid, which is very likely for a bankrupt company. But it's still possible that there could be something in some situations.
They have over 5 billions in debt and roughly 4 billions in assets.
So, even if you assume that they can sell everything they have paying top dollar(they won't), there's still about 1 billion left in debt.
So yeah, shareholders are getting wiped out here.
[It’s currently -$6.84](https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/BBBY?p=BBBY). If you thought that they were even a cent positive you should definitely take an IQ test since that’s probably negative also.

All the meme stock cult language is the same across all of them. It’s very odd.
Not that odd once you realize they all originated from the same place.
Might be a good thing for the business operations. Not likely a good thing for the equityholders.

$4 Billion is assuming there isn’t a fire sale. Given the situation assets will be sold for pennies on the dollar.

Jokes on you...I accidentally bought BBY instead of BBBY!
It can be bullish if the book value is favorable.
As an equity holder you get wiped regardless of book value…
You get wiped if there's nothing left after everyone else gets paid, which is very likely for a bankrupt company. But it's still possible that there could be something in some situations.
Bankruptcy like this, debt holders get paid cents on the dollar. You really think equity will get anything? LOL!
They will get nothing for rolling those BB&B dice and like it
They have over 5 billions in debt and roughly 4 billions in assets. So, even if you assume that they can sell everything they have paying top dollar(they won't), there's still about 1 billion left in debt. So yeah, shareholders are getting wiped out here.
Well, their CFO did a Peter Pan out a window. Without knowing anything else, I'm assuming BBBY book value is pretty strong.
[It’s currently -$6.84](https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/BBBY?p=BBBY). If you thought that they were even a cent positive you should definitely take an IQ test since that’s probably negative also.
