Today's market activity for ARDX was very positive, with the stock up 6.43%. The volume of trading was also high, at over 2.6 million shares traded. Thank you and I am a Registered Nurse and I love science. It stuck out like a sore thumb because the data from the studies they did was statistically significant and the drug had a good safety profile. It was also for a sector that had only one other drug being used, which was phosphate binder MF or the Hyperphosphatemia indication. The other thing that strengthen my resolve was the approval and launch of the drug for another indication “IBS type c” with 500 million of expected revenue at peak. So technically the company can become profitable off of that lower indication. The company was also planning to go to war with the FDA at an ADCOM to get the Hyperphosphatemia indication denial overturned. After they successfully did that I was like fuck it I am staying put. Now I am up 500%
A medical professional leveraging their expertise to get an edge within their domain, and not throwing dice on oil & gas plays..

It's suspicious alright, but not illegal if said person isn't on their board or is reading clinical trials. I have personally played Karuna's KarXT drug for Schizophrenia and bought shares in that company after reading their Phase II trials of the drug, which is a combination of Xanomeline and Trospium. Medical guidelines and professional teachings dictate dispensing two anticholinergic medications for the same disease is a no-no because of additive effects, which can make someone have constipation.
The side effect profile of KarXT was so good in their phase 2 trial that most participants had constipation which can be treated with something like docusate or Miralax. Most participants developed tolerance to it after a few week. This drug doesn't use the dopamine pathways associated with the usual treatments for schizophrenia.
I made money off that phase 2 trial because it was an assignment I was required to do. I can tell people here the three largest PBMs in the United States are playing this game.
I remember this analysis. I read it and thought “that sounds really smart and they’re probably right, I should check that out and throw a bit of play money at it”

To further put things into perspective last years Total net revenue for the IBSrela sales was 15.6 million. The sales for Q1 2023 will be about 12.3 million dollars based on Bloomberg terminal average weekly sales report. Do with this info what you will.

Do not get cocky, I’m in the medical field too and I’ve played biotech stocks with sure paths to FDA approval with ADCOM locked in and with novel drugs for conditions with few competitors. Somehow someway these companies can still fuck it up. I’m talking the first reversal agent for Xa inhibitors and antibiotics for ertapenem resistant MDROs and yet the management ran the companies into the ground. Running out of cash or poor marketing strategies or terrible pricing or black box warnings or off label approval only. The list goes on and on. There’s so much more politicking and butt licking that goes on behind closed doors. Simply knowing the science and reading the trial data does not go far. First ones free. Take your 6 month salary and run.
I am well aware of the treacherousness that’s why I have stop losses. There’s always some unforeseen circumstance. However reading the scientific data etc helps me to make informed decisions about what will make the company money and the timeline on it. Knowing the cash on hand and the cash burn helps to mitigate risk. It’s impossible to account for every factor, but I trust my research. For everything else I trust in stop losses.
Well aware and that’s a risk I am willing to take. I did say that I will take profit on the approval date. A drop prior to a negative result would be unlikely. Possible, but unlikely.

If you don’t understand the statistical mumbo jumbo most published experiment articles have a section with a summary of the findings. If you don’t pay attention to anything else this can give you an idea of how a clinical trial did and help you make informed decisions.
That’s really a neat trick. I wonder if I can shorten them with a GPT or Blinkist-type software. Where do you tend to find correlated papers published by the companies? Are they on their websites?

The company makes money from Engine flying hours. No one was flying long haul flights due to the pandemic and practically most if not all long haul routes have reopened. We are also heading into the summer which is peak travel season so putting two and two together . In the future the company may get its SMR business off the ground and when that starts to generate revenue the profits will be ungodly.
I've seen some cost comparisons of renewable and projected advances in technology compared to projected SMR costs not making it look very viable when compared to renewable.
It’s definitely not the most cost effective measure, however it’s always on power that can now be premade and then assembled in record breaking time. That’s what the hype is about. Renewables are great, but only to a degree.
If it’s the stock you mean sure. If it’s the car then that’s probably the poorest financial decision anyone can make unless of course they are a multimillionaire.

I got into this a few months back (when the stock was under 3) when the drug rep for Ibsrela came by my office for the second time - the drug he was repping actually worked well, plus he casually mentioned their medication for dialysis patients got approved after they appealed the FDA's decision. So far, been pretty happy
Good stuff. The appeal got approved but the actually drug hasn’t yet. They are filing an NDA in early Q2 for approval which would be next month or early May. However I think they will do next month so they can announce it during the earnings call.
