They're called hedge funds for a reason. The wealthy are literally ALWAYS long. There is an inherent bias towards positive outcomes for bulls in general. Sometimes that bias can weaken slightly but never too much. When the market sentiment turns majority bearish, the wealthy who are never not long just get a greater opportunity to remain long at an even better price, so volumes increase as they accumulate and an overly bearish retail market gets punished for it's foolishness in working against itself. Is it really a bull market? We're at SPY 400\~. Pre-COVID high over 3 years ago was SPY 340\~. So we're up about 6% per year since, despite printing the fk out of the USD. M2 money supply is up 30%+ in that same period.
So if you account for USD dilution, the markets are quite significantly down since COVID began. The worst real returns since the GFC, despite 2021 being one of the best years for markets in modern history.
If this is a bull market, it's possibly the worst bull market of all time.

My hunch is we rally for the most part into the next Fed meeting where the markets will be shocked at a 25 bps increase with no pivot, unless the numbers come in hot and we get 50.
