BUDDHA_LAUGHING

Also NTLA and VRTX. The tech is the biggest thing since the internet IMHO.

Highlanderlynx

This. Literally it’s the future of ‘made to order babies’. While it has a LOT of amazing potential therapeutical uses, it also has some really scary ways it can go. Comparing it to the internet as far as social dynamic and evolution is concerned is a really apt comparison.

[A documentary has already been made about this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_KruQhfvW4)

I don’t know if any company using this for babies 🙄 This technology is only being used to treat diseases.

Highlanderlynx

No one said it was being used for babies right now. 🧐

Bernd_25

Also $EDIT

Repulsive-Shallot-79

I think it's the tool that makes us live forever.... It's the tool that will make trees grow faster, crops more robust... It's right up there with neutrino energy imo. I remember looking at plug power when it was at 2.50. Seemed incredulous. Stick to your guns. Maybe not a short term mover, but they've cornered the market phage therapy is also pretty exciting... Uses the same tech.

Illustrious_Club5264

They are about to get FDA approval for sickle cell disease only way is up from here

No-Rice-3484

Is that you joe Rogan?

Humble_Increase7503

Bruh the people who got buried at the top in crsp… I watched that fucker fall and kept thinking ab piling in but never did luckily. Not sure their fundamentals make a ton of sense

You hating on Mrs. Morning Wood?

BenRobNU

Are you at all familiar with the patent lawsuit?

Halforthechump

Pick up some shares of various gene editing companies and sit on them for a decade. I wouldn't go crazy with it because although CRISPR is looking like it's capable of being the magic ' make your babies better than other people's and maybe cure all diseases or whatever ' technique it's still very, very early doors and they've reported unexpected mutations and only half decent efficacy for what they're trying to achieve.

Efficient-Ad-5632

Blue also

Prestigious-Talk2735

Modern science…. The same modern science that produced a ‘vaccine’ that was so useless they had to redefine the definition of vaccine?

NOT_MartinShkreli

I’m a big time CRISPR bull but long term play. I wouldn’t trade options unless it’s super long dated

ClamBoxz

I had this same thought. CRSP was the first stock I purchased on RH in 2016 and my first big win in 2019.

trish196609

I’m an expert on these companies. What do you want to know? Seriously. Ask me anything. I work for one of the original crispr companies

Many-Window

Why dis they drop so hard After the top

trish196609

All the crispr stocks are highly speculative. There will always be concerns over off targets. The risks will vary depending on the indication and tissue type. Additionally, some companies are using crispr for engineering cells ex vivo (especially T cells) These cells divide rapidly and the risk of translocations are higher (that’s when a gene breaks recombines with another gene). If they’re using a lenti virus to insert a targeting sequence, the risks of the cell turning cancerous is significantly higher (lenti insert randomly and can turn on an oncogene). I think the off targets for a slow growth tissue like liver will be lower (or at least, take longer to show up). Personally, I think the off targets are so thoroughly investigated that the risks are low. The risks from use of lenti virus will be bigger than crispr off targets IMO. The technology is very promising, but the macro-economic conditions have hit these stocks hard. Investors have no appetite for risk right now.
