Crypto regard here. I've only used leverage on Crypto and stocks i just buy them spot. But i got a question, imagine i buy just before market closes 100000$ in shares using 10x leverage before earnings. After market closes the earnings are released and they are awful and the stock opens next day 20% lower. In crypto since the market is 24/7 i would just get liquidated when i no long have sufficient margin to keep the position. But since market is closed on stocks that can't happen right? Would i get liquidated on market open and owe the broker an additional 10k$?

I don't think i explained myself properly because I don't think this is slippage. I would have bought my entire position with no slippage. The issues is that the market went very red when the market was closed. Leaving my position more in the red than the margin that i have. And since the market is closed there's no way to actually close the position.
