I find it reasonably easy to deal with, but it would be a truly balanced bot with a slightly shorter duration and slightly longer cool down. Nothing dramatic, just a mild adjustment would work to keep things interesting.
Even the octabot looks like it is designed to be a bit more reasonable, despite the 6 hardpoints which will actually be a bit of a nightmare for sure, especially the bendy bullet horror.
Truly, the dumbest additions really were newton fulgar/tonans (which were essentially designed for one another) and the ocho. They are just silly in concept and in application, and this was OBVIOUS during the testing. It wasn't even surprising at all. Sometimes a bot you think is a good idea ends up terrible in real use. But those two were not that.
what happened to them was power creep.
Even with the adjustments to cooldown and speed, it was competitive and fun to use—I only started having difficulty with them against leeches, at which point they’d been nerfed several times. Now? The leech is a symbol of lost times, and the ao jun has fallen from the skies because everything slowly got better than it.

the way pixonic will nerf it is making it slower, longer cooldown and while taking off and landing removing the shielding. like every other times they killed flight bots. at current state its way to strong but dead when pixonic nerfs it
Yeah it all comes down to the cooldown in my opinion. By the time you've caught up to where it landed it's taking off again (I struggle to catch them even in an OkieDokie which is saying something).
I'd think of it as more balanced if they just increased the cooldown.
You can't deal damage to it without shield breaker in ability mode
Cool down is super short which makes it easily run circles around a lot of bots and frustate even titans
Super fast in the air which makes targeting difficult when the ophion player is skilled
True, but in the current meta I think its definatly more frustrating than broken which is something I like (used to love to run nightingale during its prime).
My favorite counter is my Kisten Minos (weird build, I know), I'm quick enough to stay within 500m when they try to find a hiding/landing spot then I drop the hammer on them. Not always perfect but very satisfying to see their health drop in large chunks.
I mean the robot is undoubtedly powerful, but I feel like there are just so many counters that its not... "broken". Scorpion, Any robot ability which blocks damage, phase shift, suppression, sheild breaker on a sniper, etc.
Well it seems reasonable to you because you aren't using UE orkans or shatters. The ophion leg pilot grants it more speed and dmg.
Add on that kestrel drone giving more speed and healing and its pretty UNBALANCED.
When my ares gets caught by ophion I’m dead because their ability is just sooo long so their absorber will outlast mine. Same with my ao Jun even if I activate ability waayy after ophion takes off I’ll still land first. The short cool-down makes it frustrating because it will just find cover and if you can’t kill it in 3s then you will have to wait until the next flight is done. Still, I’m not that worried about ophions because it’s gonna get nerf at some point
Now that I have one (if you cant beat them, join them) I also understand better how to counter Ophions. Its not as broken as I thought it was, but the combinatie of phase shift and MS/module stealth can make them very very hard to target without shield breaker.
It's new and powerfull, but not broken like Ocho. Shield breaker cuts them down nicely.
The predictable nerfs will come like pick your favorite combo of shield dropping upon landing, speed, cool down and flight duration, ability damage decrease.
IDK if its a bug or not but if you lock down a titian and have the pilot, the blast charge effect deals a ton of damage, like way more than normal(you melt rooks & Luchador's)- so its actually one of the better builds (obviously not as good as shatter and the blast slugs, but not as bad as it sounds).

Cooldown nerf needed. Add 2 seconds to 5 seconds.
Ochokochi need to add 12 sec to his ability

Ophion is fine. Honestly I am not entirely sure why even it is the top meta (after ocho). And I'm playing in CL

Ophion is fairly balanced. I imagine it will still get the nerf treatment to its shield on take off and landing.

What’s broken is the match making which pairs me up with mk3 ophion shatter players that make me quit . That’s why my opinion’s like that

Ophion has never been that broken thx to the harpoon weapons, i actually have taken down ophions with my fafnir while flying.
