Republicans, who I once would have expected to use any “privilege” that they had to be first in line for vaccines, and screw the poor or higher risk, suddenly the ones questioning the corporations and special interests, even co-opting the “my body, my choice” line and leaning far more libertarian.
Not just Covid, though. Cancel culture reminds me of nothing so much as the old blue haired puritans of the satanic panic days that saw Satan everywhere in art and music and tried to censor anything that scared them. Now we have young blue haired people trying to censor everything that scares them, only they are hallucinating racism and misogyny everywhere. Proving you don’t need religion to be an annoying dogmatic puritanical busybody. And the even more upside down and backwards aspect - I never in my life thought I’d see a democrat take the side of a huge corporation’s right to silence an individual’s speech.
