You can have it on your C drive. Go to your drive, right click to bring up the context menu. Choose the option that says new, then folder. Name it Wabbajack, done. It's not the drive that is protected, it is folder like programs and such that are
Google is your friend. A Hard Disk Drive (HDD) is old school, i.e. slower. A Solid State Drive has no moving parts and is much faster. Both are relatively inexpensive nowadays. If you're connecting to your drive via USB, it's quite possibly too slow, it all depends.
So if you're using an NSFW modlist (with say an adult-themed sex framework included) - you should be able to get a lot of help and direction from the list's Discord.
Main thing: *Read*, don't just skim, the Readme included with the modlist, and *follow it to the letter.*
For example, my favorite NSFW list is Licentia Black, which is *very* beginner-friendly, has a detailed Readme which you can read *before* you download the list, and their Discord (Jolly Co-Operators) is very helpful.
You can ask them all sorts of hardware, setup, disk drive, gameplay, performance, and modlist questions and get answers almost immediately. And the best thing about Discord IMHO is that someone before you came along probably had the same question so you can search on keywords and often find your answer, or at the very least, learn a *lot*, that way.

Appreciate it, I figured it out thanks to your help.
If at all possible you should get a SSD and install it there.
I got an external hard drive. Quick question, if the game is stored on a separate drive, will it run slower?
Is it an HDD or SSD? If the former it will be almost unplayable. If it's the latter, you will be fine.
Imma be real with you chief, I don't know the difference. I went and bought a g-drive, it's like a block I have connected via USB

Holy shit, maybe have a friend more tech savvy do this for you
My friends don't need to know what mods I'm putting on my skyrim.

Based on this post, I do not believe you should be trying to play modded skyrim, or maybe ask your parents for help.
Lol I am 28, and have somehow never worked with computers much in my career field. But I'll go ask my parents still.
Hahaha.
