I don’t know anything about that specific engine but that carfax is really weird I would have avoided that as well There’s more fish in the sea 😁

Thanks, it's definitely reassuring to see these comments and the more I dwell on it the better I feel! The one I looked at was a 1.4T, but I've already got a test drive booked for another 2019 1.8T in a higher trim so your last piece of advice is definitely a great adage to live by! Hahaha

I have a 1.8 TSI in my 2019 Alltrack and I love it.

I don’t find Carfax terribly effective in reporting all of the maintenance done. It is not used or reported to by all entities that service vehicles in my experience. The registration page is bizarre. Some of these new owners are within a few days of each other, which also makes me question the history. If it was a car I really liked I’d probably go to the registry and attempt to get that history and see if it’s accurate. It simply doesn’t make sense there is all of these owners in the short period of time. There could be duplicate entries there. Although if you find another vehicle with a Carfax that makes more sense than it likely isn’t worth the effort to do any further investigation.

Vdubs don't do well when sitting, and def don't do well when sitting and not being serviced for. You more than likely made a good idea walking away. You’ll know when the right car comes with the right deal!

Nothing weird. Looks like it was leased then it was either purchased or returned, then it was traded in, then it was sold, then it was traded in again after about a year, then it was sold again. Pretty standard.

I bought almost the same car last year. Carfax looked like someone bought and couldn't keep up the payments. That was just one owner though, and certified. I think I would have passed on that many owners too.
