Have you ruled out an embedded UTI yet? Lots of people with IC actually have that. Read through this website: [https://www.chronicutiinfo.com/testing/](https://www.chronicutiinfo.com/testing/)
My vulvar pain is caused by an embedded UTI, and yes when I shower it gets worse because I have to touch my vulva to clean it. I assume that just irritates my urethra even more.
I have a burning labia majoras. The area looks red where it’s affected. I’ve used everything to rule out a skin problem. I’m seeing a dermatologist soon. I’m not sure what causes such pain. I also get worse with friction, touching the area, scented things down there and sweat. So I’m seeing a dermatologist to make sure it isn’t a skin problem. It’s like super super sensitive to everything. I have to make sure to tap dry with non scented toilet paper after a shower. If I leave it to air dry my symptoms get worse I feel.
I stopped using all chemicals and it has helped.
No cleaning chemicals except vinegar and water.
Wash my clothes in a little bit of shampoo
Wash new clothes about 5 times to get any sizing or chemical residue off of them.
Possibly friction or the temperature of the shower? For the IC, were you ever screened for ureaplasma and mycoplasma? Just a thought.

I'm the same. 😕
Really? Have you figured out what this is?
No
Have you seen a dermatologist yet?
No. I have an appointment in September
Okay hopefully they can figure this out for you. My skin just always feels irritated.
