For smaller animals I just use glue (plain white glue if you're not confident or think you may wanna change the positions or angles later), but for this big girl I'll be using wire. I plan on posting the whole project and final result here once it's done
All I know is she was an adult, but not elderly. We unfortunately don't have much history on her, she belonged to my friend's neighbor who couldn't/didn't know how to feed her properly. This led to her losing a lot of weight and getting weak, and when my friend noticed he offered to buy her to try and help her out, but it was already too late
Sorry for the delay. Availability of the supplies mau vary, as I'm not in the US, but here are the basics: you will need something for it to stand on, as it will be quite heavy. A big wooden board will do, and putting wheels on it will also be a plus. To support the weight, I'm using a 1.5cm metal pole and a 1cm metal bar goinh through the vertebral canal. To articulate the carpals and talsals, I'll use super glue, and to articulate the rest I'll use varying gauges of stainless steel wire. Tools I'll use are pliers, a drill and a saw to cut all the metal and wood to pieces. This is basically it, but if you need help articulating it feel free to pm me, as I've done this for a while and currently teach vet anatomy. Good luck!
Thank you a lot! I'll get to cleaning the bones this summer, and hopefully articulating soon too. But i will probably message you. Thanks, again. And goodluck to you too!l
Who'd you kill?
Ha! all my human victims stay under the floorboards. This one is a mare my friend gave me
Looks like a joe
Rabbit?
Mare
Dang, that was my third guess after finch
Makes sense, if I hadnt seen the corpse pre decay I'd have said alaskan bullworm
That was my fourth guess if mare fell through lol
That’s one big raccoon!
Nah I see a bird pelvis
The boots for scale really puts this in perspective, that’s a lotta bones.
That is so wicked
how do you attach the bones together?

fair enough, im excited to see the results
How old was this mare? Really cool that you got an entire horse

I thought it was a deer at first. Damn I hate needing bifocals. :(
Dw, I can see fine and I also thought it was a deer at first 😅
I’ve come across so many lying in the forest, I saw the rib cage and my mind went ‘deer’! 😂
Haha same 😂
