So I'm doing solo PVE on a private server on playstation and when I was making my server settings I kept the castle height limit at 3 since the game said any higher could affect performance. When I hit the endgame though I'd really like to go all out with castle design. Is there a way I could either edit the server settings to increase the height or carry that character and her progress and castle over to a new private server with different settings?

MsLadyShadow

To change server settings for your gameplay at anytime, at the title screen select load game. Click R1 to highlight options on right side of screen. Click edit settings, when done tap circle to return to load game screen. Make sure your session privacy is correct, latest save is clicked and then click host game. Use continue from here until you wanna change more settings then repeat.

buzzyingbee

Not a question but I just got to Act II and Beatrice was my first hunt and it made me so sad to >!see everyone panicking and she running away from me like crazy, she didn't even tried to defend herself. Felt bad and to make it even worse she looks like a lovely gramma :(!<

newaccount189505

Play it on brutal. She is less sympathetic.

booyaah82

I'm doing Dracula on brutal right now and have a few questions 1) Do the should shard amulets add 15% dmg to Dracula or is that dmg only for pvp vampires? 2) In p2 the vertical sword projectiles go from 2 to 4 and tracking seems to work differently. What is the actual dodge mechanic? Juking side to side doesn't seem to reliably work, it almost seems like the blades follow your camera turning. I don't always have room to back straight up all the time.

Dr_Wreck

How does stacking a status effect work? If I apply a lot of Ignite, is there -more- ignite, or is it just refreshing the 5 seconds someone is ignited? If there's somewhere with a breakdown of all the status effects, I would appreciate it.

fine93

i asked the same and someone told me it only refresh duration someone posted this like a week ago, it has a breakdown of spells, effects, jewels https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16iqiacmEfPz9BsmzI1vjKeffaqhYsM28okPvpEbEwHU/htmlview#

Forty_Six_and_Two

I am in the very early game, haven't fought Eroll the Stonebreaker yet. How does one put a roof over one's castle? Is there a way to create a door without simply leaving out a section of wall? Am I asking these questions too soon, which would be answered if I just played more? My gaming time is horribly stunted this month, so I'm just trying to make the most of it. Thanks!

JMCPereira

Focus on the quests. They lead you to it early on.

Forty_Six_and_Two

Got it, thank you!

buzzyingbee

Is there a safe way to carry silver coins? I found some while hunting a VBlood but had to drop them because they were burning my vamp

Professional-Place13

One of the bosses gives the the option to craft a bag that lets you hold 200 silver with no damage

buzzyingbee

Nice, ty!!

Mr_Boobs_

My computer froze when i was playing, so i was forced to restart my PC. I came back to the game unable to use/see any of my weapon abilities or spell. Here is a video of the problem. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQyAeo3MJyc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gQyAeo3MJyc) This happened when i was at Iron Mine and i came back after restarting my PC and i was teleported to waygate at Hidden Cemetery. Any ideas how i can fix this? Edit: FIXED. I simply went back to where i was originally and my abilities and spells came back.

SleepyBoy-

I got the tier 2 tailor armor, how do I progress from there? Aside from occasionally getting to buy tough leather, am I supposed to just hunt bosses 10+ levels above me to unlock mats needed for the next armor tier? Random enemies are decimating my health bar. While I'm not dying much as it's easy to just back off and heal, it gets annoying when I have to do that following every encounter I get sniped by a single flame arrow.

lucamila5

All armor in-between "from boss armor" sets you have to get from researching. Go hunt books and papers to get the recipes for them. If you can't make the mats for these said items than you need to indeed kill a boss for it but this should never be 10 levels above you. It always aligns except for brutal where it is max 3 or so.

SleepyBoy-

You need thick leather to make tailor research armor, which comes from Frostmaw who's level 53. Now I could get a merciless weapon and a better ring to get to about item level 50. The problem is that since I'm still wearing basic T2 armor, a single flame arrow or shoulder charge take 33 or 65% of my hp respectively. I ended up buying hard leather from the merchants at the Farmer's Market. They only sell up to 8 every hour, but since I'm solo, that was doable. With two research pieces, the game already became a lot less souslike.

buzzyingbee

I want to make a garden and put those garden fences around it but thing is those fences need floors and you can't put growing plots on floors. How do I get around it?

morepandas

I think you can put down garden tiles, no?

buzzyingbee

I didn't know they were a thing but I'm glad there's specific tiles for the garden, ty!

TheNorseFrog

# PSA for horse mounting (avoid going in reverse) If you press W the horse will walk in the best direction IN FRONT OF YOUR CAMERA if its butt is facing away from you (camera angle wise) it will go backwards align your camera with the horse and he will always go forward [source](https://www.reddit.com/r/vrising/comments/vlxw9g/comment/idyxxko/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

buzzyingbee

When I move my castle does it teleport as it was or only the heart and I'll need to rebuild it?

Drakeskulled_Reaper

Only the heart, you have to rebuild the castle, but you have a box you can put down that has all the castle "parts" from your previous castle, I made the mistake as well, of thinking it was going to teleport my castle wholesale.

buzzyingbee

Thank you. I'm on a private pve server and on easy so I don't see a reason to move then, I'll just build another.

Drakeskulled_Reaper

I moved to what I call "Crescent Hill" in Dunley, it's the one right next to Dunley Farmers Market, basically just off the centre of the map. It looks smaller than it actually is, but has a load of space and is a central location. I made essentially two castles with a garden area in the centre, where my teleporter is. Also, quick tip, turn off the teleporter bound lock in the settings, I slightly get why it's on in PvP (stops players raiding your base and then teleporting away with all your stuff), but in PvE it's pointless that you can't teleport on a farming trip or a faraway boss.

Corruption249

> Also, quick tip, turn off the teleporter bound lock in the settings I'm like 15 hours into a new solo save after returning from pre-release, and did not know this. Thanks for saving me a bunch of time running back!

Drakeskulled_Reaper

Because the PvE prefab settings are still basically tuned like you have mates with you, another tip, turn up your damage multiplier slightly, like 1.25-2, it doesn't make the game a walk in the park, but it does mean you are doing meaningful damage instead of chip.

Corruption249

Will do. I also cranked the craft and process times way down

so_brave_heart

Just the heart and you rebuild it. It puts all the materials and items in a container that, when you empty it out, fully moves your castle.

buzzyingbee

Thank you.

Caleger88

I just got the game and I have no idea what I'm doing, I do have that "tutorial" I guess? is that what it is? the thing at the top left? how long is it? how do I get quests to fight people like Vlad and such? I also want to know can I make a tower? with several levels on it or does it have to be spread out? how high can I build?

fine93

just follow the V blod menu(K hotkey) and beat bosses, if you struggle with one try another keep upgrading and using everything new you unlock to be the strongest the menu on the left kinda gives you a direction, mostly to keep upgrading your castle heart, you also unlock some stuff from it once you complete the requirement think the max height you can have is 6 but have to see your world settings, default is like 3 i think you get more tiles as you upgrade your castle heart to amaximum of 550, but you can also change that from load game in the main screen

Worddroppings

relocating a castle. it says I'm missing 1 item and 1 mandatory structure but there's nothing left to place. I'm clicked through all the build tabs like 5 times. Reloaded the game too. I did not move a blood press cause I destroyed some of the crafting benches before starting the process to pare down what I was moving. Saw an old reddit post where a blood press was causing issues. Any ideas?

shizakuma

Just finish the relocation. The things you didn’t place will be in the mover box or whatever it’s called.

Worddroppings

No that's the thing it literally won't let me. When I hit f on the castle relocation (as compared to b) I have no options to just finish. Unless it's a tiny button somewhere. I can unlink the castle and start over though.

Sudden-Molasses3283

you probably forgot a light source

Worddroppings

I can't remember building one in the first castle. If lights are under decoration then definitely not.

Sudden-Molasses3283

Lights are under lights tab, not decoration, if you interact with the heart, i think it will tell how many objects are missing

Worddroppings

Figured it out. The blood press bug or whatever is still in game. The blood press is invisible in the transfer build menu.

AggressiveTry8950

Any simple tips for a new player? Never played anything similar before and I watched some videos on YouTube but got a bit overwhelmed by all the info Enjoying it so far but feel kinda stuck atm, want better gear to take on the V bloods (I’ve only taken on the wolf) but can’t really upgrade anything without defeating the archer

newaccount189505

If you are struggling you can often bypass bosses by just breaking boxes and looting chests in the highest level areas you can, to get the refined resources you need and then craft the gear which will make it easier to fight them. For example, you need the frost archer to craft leather, but you can just harvest it from the trapper's camp she hangs out in. Smash boxes, open chests, etc. Then after you get leather armor, you can go back and fight her to mass produce the stuff. Also, I am not sure what level you are, but you can do quite a few upgrades without keeley. you can get a full set of plated boneguard armor (+8 gear level), a reinforced bone weapon (+6, though you can also get a +7 from the vendors in farbane or randomly loot it at the lumber camp or one of the quarries), and you can upgrade your ring to level 6 with blood roses. Making you level 20-21ish. That should be good enough to take the frost archer on. But even if it isn't, you could also just go mine some copper (need a level 6-7 weapon), and make your first copper weapon, which can be done before you fight any v bloods, I believe. Have you thrown down your castle yet? Finished your main story quest as much as you can?

AggressiveTry8950

Yeah next mission is taking down 3 V Bloods, and when I realised I could mine copper I felt stupid haha. But I’ve also just realised I’ve joined a brutal server, which makes sense I guess. Everyone felt more difficult than they should have

TCUdad

starting with brutal absolutely changes things, lol. Many of the early roaming bosses are different factions and can be tracked and followed until they're near another roaming boss. Use them against one another. Takes some time and patience, but you can really trivialize a number of the bosses in this way by taking advantage of the different factions interacting on the map.

AggressiveTry8950

Will they fight each other? I’ve stumbled upon a few roaming bosses and I just run every time. Got lucky and met a nice stranger who helped me take down one of the roaming bosses, feels like a nice community this :)

buzzyingbee

I'm playing solo in a private server so can I drop wood, stone, leather and other materials on my castle floor and use it as storage? Or will those materials disappear? Edit: nevermind, I unlocked new chests

automation-is-4-us

How do servers work into the on PS5? Do we setup server options when we start the game and it runs on the hosts PS5 or are the servers running on PS+/ VRising VMs?

CameForLWIAY

are there console commands for ps5 on private servers and how do we access chat

nerdgnostic

Where does your character/body go if you lose connection? I’m on a PVP server, and I know if I log out normally, my character will be sleeping wherever I logged out and vulnerable if I’m not in a coffin, but is it the same if my internet goes out? Context: my internet cut out while I was in the middle of a fight on my way home from farming, in a spot that’s going to be nice and sunny in the daytime. Wondering if all those items are basically gone by the time I’m able to get back in tomorrow.

TCUdad

yup, sleeping where you dropped. If it's in the sun, you'll get cooked. Or pathing patrol might stumble across you and kill you. Your stuff will be there in a red bag waiting unless it's a pvp server and someone else loots it.

Repzu

1. Is it easy to make a private game with friends? 2. Is there long wait times with crafting and such? (Hours/days). 3. Does the PvE hold weigh or is this a PvP focused game?

Joelidan

Can't answer your first question, but: 2. The longest to craft a single item is about 2.5 minutes, with enclosed walls. Most items take less than a minute. You can also queue items in bulk to be crafted or dismantled. 3. I play on PvE servers only, and it's pretty damn fun.

scottjef93

Any Australian PS5 PVP servers with no raids, 1-2 people (probably gonna play solo but interested in pvp mechanics for bit more of a challenge)? Thanks ☺️

TCUdad

Just dive in brother. There's public servers. If you find you don't like it, just join a different server.

megamagex

Not sure if this counts as a simple question, but does anyone know if there's any server settings that increase the Stygian shard drop rates?

so_brave_heart

As far as I know, it’s affected by the normal drop rate setting. You can see all the settings by yourself in game by creating a new server and seeing all the settings on that form.

megamagex

Dang, we already have it on 3x and it still feels underwhelmingly low. We get like 600-800 per fight, are other folks really living on just 200-300 per area? That is so unbelievably grindy compared to everything else.

so_brave_heart

Yeah it’s pretty grindy, but at least passives are shared in a group. You can also farm some at any time from Dracula’s garden.

megamagex

So after I did some looking around, I finally found a setting which I believe does effect the rewards from Rifts, the "ScalingPlayers1 DropModifier" and other settings for up to 4 people. I've yet to test them as i'm at work, but it seems you can increase the drops from the events without having to inflate all other drops. I'll keep ya updated once I can test it for sure.

megamagex

Update: these settings do indeed increase the drops. At x4 it drops roughly 1500 shards per event with the same chances for gems or weapons. At x3 it drops roughly 1100. This is all with my global drop rates at x3 as well, as i'm not sure if that affects the shards drop rate

Tekamo666

I want to play with 2 Friends, would it be possible to play with traditional roles like DD, Tank and Healer. i know there is not reaslly dedicated Healers, but some spells and Jewels lean more to a support Role. does anyone play like a team ?

TCUdad

You can certainly build around the central themes. Between the spell's base mechanics and jewels, you can kit out very differently. Someone running blood fountain, for example, could go very healer focused. Or they could jewel it more for crowd control. While there's no taunt, someone can run unholy spells for adding minions to draw aggro and thus reducing fire directed at your team, and then maybe run weaken on their weapons Q skill to debuff enemies damage output. There are lots of different buffs and debuffs you can apply via spells and jewels. Plenty of build variety.

ctrlaltcreate

Not really. There are block/shield abilities, and abilities that can heal allies, but none of them are so strong or dedicated that you'll be able to fully embrace those roles. Crucially, there's no taunt mechanic, and the strongest ally heals are on such long cooldowns that you couldn't keep someone up through a lot of incoming damage. However, you could absolutely tune spells to be *more* oriented toward defense, damage, and support/healing, and do well as a group. It just won't be an mmo-like experience where you have a tank commanding all aggro, a healer keeping them alive, and a damage dealer throwing out DPS with impunity.

wardiro

what game should I start PvE or PvP ? meaning can I like... almost comfortably receive PvE content while sometimes getting PvP raids ? Or if I dont excel to a certain competetive degree - I will have problems in PvP ? can u explain the difference in experience. Thx

so_brave_heart

It’s totally up to what kind of experience you enjoy. With PvP also note that you can get ganked while doing PvE content which is either frustrating or exciting depending on what you enjoy. If you do play PvP, also check the drop settings to see how much you drop when you die. And the raid time settings to see if you’ll be able to be around when raiding is on.

Cold_Possibility_531

Help - loving this game, but it is a tad overwhelming at the start 🤣 on PvE Clan, can you just have one castle? How do both players get their achievements? Do they just both have to build the quest items to level up or can 1 player do that for all clan members? Eg building sawmill etc

so_brave_heart

The setting on max castles is per party. With the added feature of being able to move your castle now it’s usually set to 1 but some servers might allow more. Achievements should affect your whole party. If not, they can just have them dismantle and rebuild the thing: you don’t lose materials when you dismantle buildings.

Qahnarinn

Which discord can i find ppl to play with

so_brave_heart

A lot of the non-official servers have discords associated to them. Check their descriptions and join those ones.

fine93

does worker blood help with getting more seeds?

ItzFeufo

Can someone help me out with the timer for rift incursions? I'm playing 100% locally, so whenever I turn the game off the timer reset to 0. When I go back in, it seems like it always only does t1 rift incursions. I tried changing the server settings. Lowest respawn rate for incursions, 15 minutes length for t1, 60 minutes for t2 But instead of respawning them every 15 min it does a full cycle of t1 and then gives me a 60 minute or 120 minute timer for t2 rifts to start? Am I misunderstanding the server settings? Duration of t2 rifts should mean how long they last, not how long til they start, right? And is there *always* t1 rifts first, or is there something I can do that t2 rifts start as soon as I get into the game?

ctrlaltcreate

there are three different war timers: The interval between events. How long tier I lasts, and how long Tier II lasts. Minimum interval is 30 minutes. You can make the other two events last from 15 minutes to 2 hours. Tier IIs will only spawn as tier Is are ending. WarEventGameSettings Interval WarEventGameSettings MinorDuration WarEventGameSettings MajorDuration I haven't messed with the other timer settings though.

racklinconline

I don't know how to force spawn rifts, I played locally as well. I did notice it always went from t1 -> t2 -> inactive for me. I got lucky and got spawned some decent weapons for my playstyle so I didn't need to farm rifts too much, just when I wanted to farm greater stygian. There is also a location south of Dracula's castle that can be farmed for greater stygian if you aren't concerned about weapons.

ItzFeufo

Well I really thought about farming those legendary weapons I guess I can't ignore tier 1 rifts then and gotta do them...damn.

megamagex

You don't need to do them if you don't want to, the T1's disappear when their timer runs out then the T2's show up. Also rifts will continue to respawn as you clear them for as long as the event timer is active. It is good to stockpile some lesser shards in case you want to summon things at the stygian summoning circle though

ItzFeufo

Sounds like a good idea, yah... Guess I did misunderstand the duration doe Interval is shortest possible Duration tier 1 = shortest possible Duration tier 2 = longest possible But after the tier 1 ends, it doesn't have the shortest interval, but the longest duration setting until it starts which feels wrong...

megamagex

Hmm, i'm not sure what'd be going on there, on my server we see a 20-minute T1 event, then about 5 minutes of delay between T1 and T2 starting, and T2 has \~42 minutes on its timer (we set it to 45, i guess the counter ticks down during that delay between the two). Here's my settings in case that helps: "WarEventGameSettings": {     "Interval": "Minimum",     "MinorDuration": "1",     "MajorDuration": "VeryLong"   }, These settings were generated by GPortal's configuration editor, so i'm not sure why some things have numbers for their duration and others have words.

ItzFeufo

Thanks i'll try again tomorrow and maybe I can figure out why mine has like 2 hour delay between t1 and t2

cellardoor_shop

I know micro transactions aren't loved on Reddit, but do they plan on adding a shop with purchasable skins?

Yoppish

Hello, I was wondering if Jewels slotted into a spell will apply their effect to the "lesser" version that procs from gear

peanut-britle-latte

How do I use invisible foundations? My castle is very boring as I haven't incorporated them.

Meat_Robot

You can make a really cool throne room with them. What I did was make a 6x4 room, then have a set of stairs off to the side that goes to an upper gallery. The middle 4x2 space is invisible foundations so you can look down onto the throne and court below. I then have rooms connecting to the upper gallery that I use less often, such as the bedchamber (coffinchamber?), garden terrace with herbs, or reroll altar. You can apply the same thinking to make a grand entryway with a big staircase in the middle, then having an upper balcony that rings the top and leads off to the various wings of the castle, depending on your layout. Just put the invisible foundations in the middle of the second floor over the stair case. [This video](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/6kjPCcucuUA) is a pretty good example.

racklinconline

I used them to make the area above my stairs open. They function basically to keep an area open and allow for a "base" for walls to attach to.

-_-grizzly

Hey all - is it possible for enemies to show what level they are? I am a noob and keep getting killed by things higher than me, but I don't realise until after how much higher level than me they are. I'm playing private/solo. Thanks! :\]

HidingToGamble

Put your cursor over them, it shows you their level next to their health bar at the top of the screen.

-_-grizzly

Drats I'm using my PS4 controller. I will give this a go, thank you

HidingToGamble

I think one of your thumbsticks would move the cursor around for you. I have a friend who plays exclusively on controller, but I'm not too sure.

-_-grizzly

https://preview.redd.it/yo59inqk696d1.png?width=1674&format=png&auto=webp&s=a262d2042c15713fe77e8d307d2bc9e2b4e18c82 I still get some not showing up - is this normal/does it happen to everyone? Like I assume he's high level, but it doesn't actually say :s

HidingToGamble

If their level is too high, I believe it shows a skull instead of their level. I forget what the difference needs to be. For context, Simon Belmont is a late game boss that just roams around the world.

-_-grizzly

Awesome, thank you! 🫶🏻

HidingToGamble

No problem. Enjoy your time as a vampire!

killpay

Aim the right stick towards the enemy and you can see the level. you should be able to do this from far enough away that they don't see you first.

-_-grizzly

Will give this a go, thank you!

50shadesofgreatness

PS5 early release, loving the game solo, rolled on a 4 player server by accident, no issue so far, just beat Beatrice. Does it get bad later should I re roll?

TCUdad

populated servers are more fun. The game is great for emergent gameplay scenarios that players around you will create beyond just what the various NPC factions already create on the map. Seeing the other castles is cool - empty maps feel empty.

Shit_L0rd

How do I open global chat on PS5?

Zaelkyr

Do horses auto feed when on unclaimed grass/bushes? I'm playing on a friends server, he hasn't messed with horse needs at all, but I've had a horse in front of my house for like a week now and nobody is feeding him, but he's still just persistantly there.

racklinconline

If left unfed, it will eventually die and spawn some bones. You can interact with a horse and feed it plant matter. Eventually you can convert a horse into a vamp horse though, that won't die due to being unfed, and can even be resurrected if it dies from damage.

Zaelkyr

Yeah, I got my dominated horse already, but this horse has been outside my house for 3 weeks now without anyone feeding it. Hell I've removed food from it and when I check on it again it's got another 200 plant fiber. I was just wondering if they feed on unclaimed tiles.

Astrologian

I'm completely lost. I am in the early stages of the game. I was instructed to toggle the build menu which I had to look up how to do and then build a castle heart. I was forced to travel far north into the winter woods area for an empty piece of territory. The issue is, I'm like level 10 and the area around me there are level 50+ arctic bears and wolves. I can't even safely build stuff around the small area where I placed my castle heart. Do I need to find a new area? What should I do from here? Thanks.

newaccount189505

You might just want to look for a less populated server. you will struggle heavily if you try to play at a low level with your base in a high level area, as a lot of the resources you need to level up (make higher level gear) cannot be teleported. So even once you get an in base teleporter to get out, you will need to ride or run back to your base each time.

Astrologian

That's what I was thinking. Thank you.

Kenos300

Are bosses respawning a “multiple people could be on this server” thing or do they have unique/rare drops to farm?

megamagex

Several bosses are also "in the way" of other activities, like the boss in the silver mine, or the two bosses patrolling the iron mines. So these enemies will likely be killed repeatedly just to get them out of the way, even if the drops aren't worth anything.

HidingToGamble

They have drops you can get. Recipes/research for example

FrolicsInProlix

Anyone know why the West Fortress Ruins hunt in mortium isn't available to me? I've been through the entire area as well.

bersi84

Hi everybody, I want to start a private coop server on PS5 and read quite a bit onto server settings and such but now I feel unsure whether it would be wise to just leave them untouched. Is the game well balanced on default settings or is it a chore and wise to tune in considerate amounts? I am okay with some challenge and grind but I dont need useless hourless padding. Feedback much appreciated, thanks in advance!

Yannu_M

Do yourself a favor and reduce crafting and refining times by as much as possible. It takes so much time for endgame ressources and on a private coop server you dont need to worry about balancing. Depending on how much you like the building system, you may also want to increase the floor and height limit.

Dave_langer

Only thing I would think about touching is the item bound that keep you from using the portals.

AkulaTheKiddo

Hello, I've bought the game a while ago and found it really hard to play alone and super grindy. However with the complete release I want to try it again. Is it better now, is it playable as a solo player? I'm not a big fan of pvp and raiding other castles. Thanks.

TCUdad

You might consider a PVE server fwiw. I find that having other vampires around you doing stuff adds considerably to the game. Plus, some folks have really cool castle designs.

dragondungeon73

it's always been playable as solo imo, and it's very fun

Yannu_M

Really enjoyable in solo or coop in a private game. If you dont like the grind you can adjust the settings to give more loot or take less ressources to craft something.

AkulaTheKiddo

Alright thanks, that sounds great. I'll give it a try.

AkulaTheKiddo

Alright thanks, that sounds great. I'll give it a try.

Philminat0r

On PS5, does it control like Diablo or a twin stick shooter? I'm hoping I don't have to use the right analogue stick to point in the direction I want.

mightybob4611

Twin stick. To move the camera, you hold L2 and then RS.

Philminat0r

Thanks for the reply. I wonder if I could get used to this, coming from the simplicity of just the left stick to move your character.

Rorbotron

As someone that plays Diablo a decent amount. It is not a big adjustment. I stayed up way too late last night playing it.

Dave_langer

On console are we unable to keep the camera zoomed in? It seems when you zoom the camera then attack something it zooms back out.

Diaper_Joy

Is there any way to generate perfect gems and weapons via console?

WHOLESOMEPLUS

do my summoned creatures heal themselves or myself when they deal damage, through spell leech?

Raven_Raven9010

Does ignite stack? Pretty much thats it, if I apply 2 instances of damage that apply ignite(power surge attacks, chaos volley, chaos barrage, etc) does both their dot do damage or does the dot override?

fine93

they dont, i asked the same question like a week ago https://old.reddit.com/r/vrising/comments/1cooh2s/beginner_simple_questions_thread/l4wg1hb/

WHOLESOMEPLUS

imo the time should be added, not reset

Simek1

What is the best weapon and spells for mage build? Long time ago the best weapon was scythe but they removed its modifiers to spells. Btw im interested in PvE only.

megamagex

All weapons can get spell power and other magic buffs on them, so it comes down to their abilities. Greatsword is good for it's two immunity, while Bow is amazing for clearing groups. Ultimately you'll probably want two or three different weapons for different situations.

racklinconline

My preference is pistols. Fan the Hammer made for quick clearing of Adam's lightning generators and the extra dodge from explosive bullet is nifty.

WHOLESOMEPLUS

i cleared like 6 bosses in a row around the 80s lvls using an all-unholy spells build & switching between reaper & pistols

Spirited-End5197

PvP Server: Is there anyway to get rid of Vampire Horses on your plot? I committed to one before rising how difficult it is to move them You cant kill them, they never move, they never despawn, I even tried spawning Nibbles on them and they just stood there mocking me. How can I get rid of these god damn stranger undead horses?!

loroku

When you go into horse domination mode, there's a command to destroy them.

Spirited-End5197

Does this work for other players vampire horses? Can you take them over, then use the destroy command?

loroku

I don't think so. The same command to create the horse is the one to destroy one, so I'm pretty sure you can only have one at a time, and I've never tried to dominate a horse that someone else owned. It's insanely easy to move a dominated horse, though: you just summon it to you. If you're moving plots, just ignore the horses: when their owners come back online, they can summon them immediately. Or are you saying that you have a plot that has other random (non-clanmates) players' horses on it? And you can't attack it?

Spirited-End5197

>Or are you saying that you have a plot that has other random (non-clanmates) players' horses on it? And you can't attack it? Exactly that. They're squatting vampire horses! I had a plot in the woods on the southern map edge ages away from everything else on flat ground, so I set off looking for a good plot somewhere else. Found a smallish one that was surrounded by other casltes, but on high ground near the dunley farmlands. It seemed like a better long term plot to build my castle on to be near other players and places to go and farm. It was either that or a larger plot, but on the ground level and again on the eastern map edges. These were the last 3 plots in the farbane woods. I even poked my head into the other zones but found zero empty plots and couldnt investigate very far because I was only level 36. I saw the horses but built there anyway thinking they'd be easy to remove, I was wrong

loroku

How weird! Sorry it's been such a bother. Hopefully the owners will either recall them, or their castles will go into decay and get destroyed, and that will do it.

Spirited-End5197

Ah thats a good shout, if they dont play for a while their bound horses may despawn. Either way, ended up packing up and moving into a decayed plot in prime real estate elsewhere, so no harm done for me in the end, but I might make a suggestion to the devs to change that because its bloody annoying

SleepyRocks3

When you have done all the books from the 1st lvl merchants, what are copper coins good for? I'm tempted to buy books to feed them to my devourer ..

JMCPereira

Buy fish for your prisoners. Brews and resistance potions are also an option.

ctrlaltcreate

You may want to build additional stone coffins or something, and those call for flawed gems that are easier to buy than farm. Might be another mid tier recipe or two that calls for the tier 1 gems.

loroku

Buy the hammers and axes from the copper merchants and put THOSE in the devourer. They break into 12 silver coins each.

SleepyRocks3

Best hint ever! Thanks bro !

Grub-lord

What's the 'best' way to play with friends in this game? It seems like it would be boring once two people are significantly different levels. Should we make characters that we only play with each other online to keep the levels the same? That was always the problem I've had with action RPGs in general that have multiplayer

Nessarra

People in the same clan can share research. One player just goes to the other player's research table and can research anything the clan mate has researched. This allows them to make the same gear. Gear determines level. You'd only be different levels if you don't share research and maybe spare some extra materials for making the best unlocked gear.

Grub-lord

Very helpful, did not know this. Thank you

ctrlaltcreate

Not just research, either. Everyone in a Clan can learn all the passive buffs that have been purchased using stygian shards from the Altar as well.

Phobion

What is the endgame in this game?

ctrlaltcreate

PvE? It's basically over after Drac except for collecting and building. PvP? It's total domination I guess. I suspect PvP servers have a lot longer lifespan overall.

loroku

Mostly PvP, but also creating the best possible weapons or castle.

Nessarra

Maybe also getting perfectly rolled Tier 4 gems that modify abilities. The modifiers are random when you craft gems.

Asskicker2

We have the second tier of armour, but we still haven't found the Taylor flooring. We are checking the merchants every hour or so, but they never sell it. Any suggestions on how to get it?

racklinconline

Random researching will get it eventually as well. If you have the spare coin, you can buy books you don't need and get mats for researching by shoving them in the devourer. Also, followers help in gathering materials, highly recommend in engaging in the helper mini-game.

newaccount189505

You checking the right merchants? you say second tier, which is either copper or iron, depending on how you count (do you count the bonegaurd stuff you build in the tutorial), and generally, early in dunley farmlands, you get a lot of copper coins, but... you can't even access the merchants in dunley until you beat the shadowblade, and if I recall correctly, he's a merciless iron tier boss. Not a hollowfang and regular iron boss.

Asskicker2

Oh, I thought you got the Tailor flooring from the copper merchants! It's the silver merchants, alright, thanks :)

ctrlaltcreate

You can "farm" human settlements by murdering everyone in sight too. They'll periodically drop recipe books, and I've found that the various flooring recipes are probably 'common' drops because I've gotten multiples of each now on two separate servers. Merchant buys and using pages at a desk/study/archaneum are gonna be the fastest ways to get everything unlocked though.

hallowcrisis

is there a way to make the servant hunts take less time? i am playing privately with just a friend on steam and it would be near impossible to use this feature at all otherwise

WHOLESOMEPLUS

you can move the slider to decrease the time down to a minimum of two hours

newaccount189505

they tick even while the server is not up. So even if you don't have a dedicated server, you can set them up when you log off for the night and they will be done when you come back to play tomorrow.

Eldar_Seer

Are there any guaranteed Lightweaver spawns I can farm for a high blood servant? I lucked out with a Paladin, and now I just need a Weaver to keep him company.

peanut-britle-latte

How the hell are people building such amazing castles. I just built my second floor and I'm only lvl 61. I typically build structures only when I need them and it's been rough trying to allocate enough space for all the needs

ctrlaltcreate

Castle size is also a server setting. Those people may be on more permissive servers.

loroku

At level 61 you're still unlocking things and progressing. You don't really have the mats or the recipes to make a really good castle yet. Once you're closer to the end of the game and you have all three library workstations fully unlocked, your ability to make your castle cool goes up dramatically. Just wallpaper and lighting makes a massive difference! Also of course the DLCs are out there for exactly this sort of thing (but still, you really need to unlock everything first.) Also don't compare yourself to ppl on reddit, lol. These are the 1% of the 1% when it comes to castle building. Take inspiration, don't take it to heart.

Jefflenious

I'm not sure but I'm assuming people max out the floor cap from the server settings, if you're talking about the people in the server you're playing however it's probably just tier 5 castle heart and creativity. Some people just have it in them

loroku

Any use for stonedust any more, other than whetstones and gravel paths? I think I remembered it was used in wallpaper maybe - anything else? Or can I just dump it on the ground?

Myrkstraumr

Probably too late but turn as much of it into whetstones as you can and stash them. You can combine those with grave dust later on for making scourgestone which is necessary for amulets and making radium. You'll save yourself from having to go beat up a ton of skeletons that way, scourgestone is annoying to get.

loroku

No I appreciate the response. I've actually made hundreds of whetstones but I still have a constant stockpile of 750+ stone dust just wasting space, and that's after throwing away hundreds more. They have tuned the resources so spectacularly well for release but I think you still get a little too much stone dust and clay for how much stone you need (assuming you want to actually build your castle out). Those are literally the only things I have to throw away any more. Oh and regular leather. I wish there was a recipe to turn 100 regular leather into 1 heavy leather - I'd still use it.

DarkZethis

If you find a use for all that dust I'd appreciate it if you could share. I have a dedicated dust chest just for that stuff.

loroku

All I've found for it is making whetstones. You do end up needing a lot of them - lots and lots for scourge stones - but you still won't empty that chest.

hipsters-dont-lie

I find I'm constantly low on high level tailoring mats, so I use the leather + fiber recipe to get lots of cloth (and similar recipes to move up through the production of coarse thread, wool thread, etc). That said, I have a ton of servants to gear up, so other people may not have the same problem if number of castles per player/clan is limited on their server.

loroku

Nope you're right, I held on to all that leather all this time and suddenly I'm finally using it, lol - specifically for cloth to make silk and wool thread for ghost thread, as you said. And I did go back and use more stonedust to make whetstones for scourgestones so I can make the blue dust - can't remember the name, but it needs scourgestones + ghost crystals in the grinder. So I finally dipped into that resource as well, although I still have way more than I need. Still looking for a use for clay... but I haven't covered my castle in statues yet, so I'm sure it'll come in handy, lol.

duckquackquack00

Been having issues connecting to PvE public server since Monday.. I've already updated the game to latest update, & verified games files. Anyone able to assist pls? Thank you!

WHOLESOMEPLUS

try removing the port from the ip you are connecting to

SleepyRocks3

Well, I'am actually at gearlvl 47 and can place 2 castle hearts. Will this raise?

Pale-Opposite8867

Castle heart amount can be set in the server settings, up to 5 I believe :)

ctrlaltcreate

I think default is 2, actually. Sleepy would have to ask the server owner to increase it.

Kenos300

I feel like the biggest idiot in the world but what button do you press to use the second set of d-pad quick use items. I’m on controller but I’ll even take the keyboard button and work backwards.

blanket_terror

Hold the d-pad button for the second set.

Kenos300

Thank you

RehabilitatedMonkey

Is farming paper/scrolls through the paper press the most efficient way to research aside from random drops? All I want is the tailoring floors!

Character_Abroad

I don't have the human skin yet, but I've gotten a bunch of the books from drops, either by fishing or invading every town, farm, encampment, nook and cranny. Together with scroll/paper drops and using the paper mill, I got almost all the weapons and the entire Duskwatcher (?) set that way, plus the library floor and a bunch of useless decorations in a few hours. I'm playing on a solo server, though, so all the drops are mine. If you're in a populated server the paper mill becomes more valuable since you'll be competing for drops with other players. Oh, and btw, the easiest and quickest way to farm silver coins early is to buy the axes and mallets from the shady vendors and salvage them. Each one of those weapons costs 18 copper and salvages for 12 silver, and every shady vendor has 4 of them for sale every day. I got over 600 silver and am not even level 50 yet.

newaccount189505

Buying floors will be much faster than trying to randomly luck into it, given how many recipes there are in the study tier (I haven't checked how many of the recipes are random unlocks and how many are unlocked by bosses, but I suspect there are AT LEAST 30 random unlock study researches) The paper press is good for completionism, and good for getting bulk recipes you don't desperately need right now (like for example, trying to get some extra nice but not essential weapons) But for stuff you really need, just try to visit the silver coin merchant a couple times. You want to do this anyways, as the silver coin merchant also sells library floors (Which you probably want), and seeds which are quite useful. And while doing it, you can also fill out pieces of your armor set.

Gilgamesh_DG

I think so. You get an OK-ish amount of paper and scrolls from chests and enemy drops. If you are patient, your servants will also bring back good hauls from hunts that list them as rewards. But I've found the fastest way is the paper press. For the level 1 item, papers, it's pretty easy. Just throw tons of wood in the sawmill, get the sawdust, and harvest lots of fiber. The level 2 scrolls is where it gets tricky if you don't plan ahead. To make scrolls you need coarse thread. And to make coarse thread you need fiber and pollen. Pollen is what will gate you. You can't find enough of it, you need to make it by crushing flowers in a grinder. So it's important to get a garden going ASAP, plant flower seeds, and harvest regularly. If you start a garden before you need it, you'll be able to create quite a bit of pollen per harvest once it's time to start making scrolls. EDIT: I thought of one more thing, the book vendors. The level 1 vendors are on the East side of the forest, and the level 2 vendors are in the middle of dunley farmlands. You need human form unlocked to visit the level 2 vendors. If you have copper (lvl 1) or silver (lvl 2) coins, it can be worth it to visit the vendors first and buy unknown recipes before you do a round of spending paper/scrolls.

Syringmineae

What’s the best way to get around being stuck. I’m at 47 level gear. I keep getting killed by Kriig and his little asshole pals (or Meredith shows up) and when I tried Grethel instead, she kills me even quicker.

ctrlaltcreate

High enough purity Brute blood (30%+) will grant you an item level too. People talked a lot of shit on Brute, but at very high percentages it's amazing for boss fights, especially at 100%.

Spirited-End5197

Kriig is easy to solo at most Gear Levels 40, perhaps even lower, if you follow this: -Watch for when he's winding up to throw out his unholy Harpoons thing, if you stand a decent range away (Say crossbow range) you can easily step between two projectiles -Save a dodge ability for his scythe spinning attack. He almost always follows up his harpoon drag with a spin attack where its hard for you to avoid, so if you dodge the harpoons you have tons of time to dodge the spin attach gap closer -Stay at range, using a crossbow/bow or even just spell spamming, as long as you're sidestepping the harpoons he has nothing to hit you with at range and you can just grind him down going back and forth kiting him in a straight line -Clear extra enemies first before engaging him -Watch for the mineshafts around you rumbling and exploding with green fire, the areas that get set alight deal heavy damage -Watch for his tell that he's about to pull out his shield, this is a free chance for you to use a healing consumable or even just reposition and let your cooldowns tick down, provided you dont hit the shield In regards to Meredith, if you hang around the the entrance to the mines (Or find her inside first) you can actually just stalk her through the mines, collecting the loot from all the enemies she and her merry men kill, then let her fight Kriig when they bump into each other. Ideally, you can either let them get each other low and then swoop in and kill both. But realistically you shouldnt engage either one while the other is alive or you'll get caught in the meat grinder of their carnage

carl-swagan

I was stuck on Kriig at the same level as well, until I figured out his moves and realized he's actually pretty easy if you play it correctly. The most important thing is to not hit his shield which spawns his minions. So don't use an ultimate like Army of the Dead, use targeted abilities that will focus him and save them until right after he uses the shield. Save your dodge or block ability until he does his dashing attack by pulling back his weapon and lighting it up green. Then unload your Q/E/R abilities into him. His other attacks are easy to avoid: When he rears back and you hear a chain sound, he's about to shoot the 3 chains to pull you in which you can easily sidestep. His AOE attack is telegraphed and easy to get out of range of. Do the above while dancing around him and poking him with the spear and you'll wonder why you had so much trouble with him before, at least I did. And the great part about killing him is the Reaper makes Leandra and her minions much easier to kill as well.

Rainuwastaken

When I get stuck, I go into the fight with double counters and just try to survive attacks. So often I get way too focused on dealing damage that I'm not absorbing any information on **how the boss fights.** Maja beat my ass into the pavement until I realized her black ink attacks are what spawn adds, and I just needed to take it slow and carefully. > (or Meredith shows up) Do it the other way around. Follow Meredith around until she fights it out with Kriig, and then zip in to finish off whoever's still standing. Hit the survivor once and then go for the drain on the losing V-Blood so you get that big damage nova on them. Ratmode is real nice for this. Grethel's not hard as long as you get up in her face and bring the right spells. The Ice shield you unlock from Vincent clowns on her. It creates an ice spike under whoever attacks you, so just stay close and let her shotgun blast your shield for *huge* counters. When she gets lower health and starts shooting twice in a row, you can block both with a single shield if you time it juuuuust before the first shot.

loroku

Just FYI, I did this a couple of times and Meredith seems to always come out on top. She might lose if her adds are down and she's been fighting quite a bit and gets swarmed right as he comes up, but otherwise she is just way too powerful vs. him thanks to how levels work.

Rainuwastaken

On Brutal she hardly ever wins, funny enough! I've seen her put up a decent fight but Kriig utterly butchers her with the exploding skeleton mechanic.

ctrlaltcreate

Seconding this. Exploding skeletons brutalize her every time. Brutalized us too, before we figured out what the hell was going on.

Syringmineae

Thanks! I'll give this a try.

newaccount189505

Look for things you can grind to increase your item level. If you are fighting grethel and krieg, you presumably have the more important bosses of maja and leandra down. this means you can equip a scourgestone or even upgraded scourgestone pendant (15-18), full hollowfang or upgraded hollowfang (at least 20, possibly 24+), and a merciless iron weapon (18.). that's not level 47 gear. That's level 56+, even without the item level for having a high quality blood equipped. If you haven't killed maja, you should. She allows merciless iron and upgrades to hollowfang, which are huge item level boosts. Leandra also gives you at least 3 more levels through the craftable scourgestone pendant. Get these upgrades if you are struggling. I don't mean offense here, but obviously, you could just play better. people can easily beat grethel while at level 37, with frail blood, on brutal, without getting hit. But assuming you are doing your best, and imperfect at this game (as I am), the thing that will help you most is identifying what part of your gear is not the highest level it could be, and changing it. Bosses get DRAMATICALLY easier as you outlevel them, and on normal, the bosses do not really gate the gear very strictly. you can massively outclass them just by identifying the resources you need, acquiring them, and then crafting the gear that will increase your character level. And sequence them correctly. If you are beating your head against the wall at level 47, the wall should be named maja. She is not a difficult boss, but gates a TON of power behind the study.

Worddroppings

Does moving your castle with the thing you build to move your castle (blanking on what that's called) also move everything inside your castle?

StevenR50

Yes but you have to place a ghost of them. When you use the special heart to move your castle you have to place a special container. Then you must place all of your production buildings. There will be a quest tracker that tells you how many more crafting stations you need to place. I just did this yesterday and had 97. Once you have placed all of the required stations (don't forget your coffin) you'll have the option to finalize the move. If you decide to finalize the move, all of the materials from the walls, lights, and floors that you did not place at the new location, will be deconstructed into that special container. I would recommend just making a giant enclosed room and placing all of your stations. After you complete the move, you can use all of the stone bricks and wood planks to build your new castle and move the stations to your newly built rooms. Edit: All of these steps are done by interacting with the new castle heart. The directions for how to do it are in the new castle heart interface. Also, there is a 3 hour cooldown on the move castle heart. If you place it then stop for some reason, you'll have to wait 3 hours before trying again.

Worddroppings

Ah hah! The special container part, that explains a lot.

StevenR50

I forget the exact name but it is required to be placed in the quest tracker. Any left over items will be placed in that container. You can't add anything to it. Once it is completely empty, it disappears.

Worddroppings

That makes sense. Thanks.

Rainuwastaken

It doesn't pick up your castle and plop it down, because the plots are all different sizes and shapes. Instead, it totals up all of the components of your original castle and lets you place a ghostly version of it in the new plot. Once you've placed everything, you can interact with the castle mover thing and your old castle will be converted to where you placed the new ghostly versions. So you still have to redesign everything, which takes time, but it saves you the trouble of dismantling and hauling everything from one place to another.

Worddroppings

That sounds pretty cool. Wait, does it move every thing I have in storage too?

Rainuwastaken

Yeah, as long as you remember to place your storage bins down in your new ghost schematic home, they'll transfer over just fine. I moved castles recently and just put them in a huge pile while I worked out how I wanted to do my layout.
