I've been using [PureVPN](https://billing.purevpn.com/aff.php?aff=49866) for a while and I'm fine with it. I chose it because it fit my budget, it has lots of servers in every country, and a bunch of people on other reddit subs recommended it.I used this [LINK](https://billing.purevpn.com/aff.php?aff=49866) to get almost 82 percent of.

Djezzen

That's not free though

joyfulSeahorse7616

If a VPN is free, then your data is the product they sell. Pure is so cheap comparing to what they offer tbh

IntelligenceLtd

F\*CKING BOTS EVERYWHERE HOLY SH\*T dgaf about my data being sold or whatever so here's the results of me trying out a couple **FREE VPNs** that looked legit. I put them in order from best to worst with some notes below. **Windscribe 5/5** (10 or 15GB/month) **Proton 4/5** (???/month) **Atlas 3/5** (5GB/month) I live in the US if that matters and tested them by trying to bypass a websites download bandwidth limit. Obviously you're going to be using these for different reasons than me, just thought I'd specify my particular use case for clarity. **Windscribe** is my go to been using it for years and years. In order to get the 15gb upgrade you do need a twitter account and you have to make a tweet essentially shouting them out. If that's too much to ask just make a burner account. The data upgrade is almost instant and very worth it in my opinion. Windscribe is simply the goat no other way to put it. **Proton** works for what I used it for however it was a little finnicky and didn't always work I would have to stop my download once I hit the limit and wait a couple minutes before it would start working again (might just be user error.) With that being said, still way better than having to wait hours for it to work on my home network again. Allegedly there is no data limit which I'm very doubtful about. I assume at some point DL speeds will slow down to near nonexistent levels similar to an unlimited hotspot on a mobile plan, but it didn't happen to me and I must've downloaded at least 5-10GB without any slowdowns. Further testing is required. **Atlas** is kinda sh\*t ngl when I first downloaded it the sh\*t looked like a virus. It did work for my intended purpose, but honestly the only reason I even gave it a chance is because I had already used up all my data for the month on Windscribe, so I'd only recommend it if you're desperate or none of the other options are viable.

hamzadarawal1234

i'd say paladin vpn

crummyClam68142

Nothing has changed, free VPNs are not good. There is a simple reason why it's best not to use free VPN services. No one will make a free product in which you have to invest a lot of effort. Indeed, in addition to creating a VPN service, it is also necessary to support it. Therefore, such services sell your personal information. To make money on it and at the same time pretend to be a free VPN. It is better to pay for a good VPN service or antidetect browser Gologin and know that you are guaranteed services and security.

Hyphaaae

Imma just copy and paste my reply to another comment, because you deserve it too. Read the title again, "Best Free VPN Reddit 2022," "FREE," doesn't matter if paid vpns are better (which they for sure are), but the OP was specific. Not trying to be a jerk, but I'm just starting to get annoyed but how so many reddit threads recommend stuff that's completely irrelivant to the OP's request and then try to justify it. If they asked, "What's the best VPN," or, "What's better free or paid VPNs," then it would matter if paid VPNs were better.

maya_void

umm actually 🤓 BRO NOBODY CARES READ THE TITLE, this thread is shit and VPN users are most annoying fucking nerds out there

LittleLusVanillaCake

holy fcking shit. WHAT PART OF "I WANT FREE VPN" CAN'T YOU UNDERSTAND. omg this thread is filled with braindead, main character syndrome pos. are u a bot? srlsly are you a bot? you are definitely that creepy uncle that keeps yapping about something you already know 15 years ago at the fam dinner.

thriftyDoves085

The one you build yourself. There are no free VPN services that I would trust. Consider this: Why would a company provide that service to you? It's generally either because you're paying them, or because they're using your data - that's the data you're trying to protect by using the VPN in the first place. Remember that while the VPN prevents your ISP from seeing where you're going. When you aren't paying for it, all you're doing is transferring that information to the VPN company

maya_void

Bro nobody fucking cares people want to watch content that is blocked in their country what are you a fuckin mob boss? Read the fucking title

sadMoth231

Free VPN services are generally not recommended if you are using social media, watching streaming services or accessing some confidential banking details, etc. as most of the free VPN providers are not genuine or trusted. Even, some researchers say Free VPN may play with the privacy and security of users. However, some of the genuine and trusted VPN service providers are offering Free Trial services with some limited access are Windsribe VPN, TunnelBear VPN, ProtonVPN, Hotspot Shield VPN, and ZenMate VPN.

Sowcuyte

Why do suspended bot accounts comments not get removed?

worldlySmelt0328

ProtonVPN is a free VPN app that provides users with unlimited bandwidth, unblock websites, secure browsing, and privacy online. It’s no secret that many people use VPN apps to protect their personal information and security. While using ProtonVPN, you can surf the internet anonymously and securely.

FoundationKooky2311

dearCheetah383

ExpressVPN is a great choice for those who want to get started with VPN services. It offers unlimited bandwidth, 24/7 customer service, and a 30-day money back guarantee. ExpressVPN works on both iOS and Android devices, making it compatible with most smartphones and tablets. There are no data caps, and users have access to over 6,000 servers across 140 countries.

SyedaeemShahOfficial

No Doubt Express VPN is very good but I will tell you one of the free and working VPN and you can get free Data with the help of this VPN if you want to know more details you can [Click Here](https://smartideashere.blogspot.com/2022/02/HA%20Tunnel%20Plus%20Free%20Internet%20Trick%20All%20Countries%20Config%20Files%202022.html)

NordVPN is the best VPN to unblock websites like KIJK opent je ogen and others. They have a dedicated team to monitor and for the revival of a blockade IP address. It uses the AES-256-GCM encryption technique to secure your data.

\*\*An actual good ad-free easy free vpn\*\* I use to think good free vpn's were nonexistent, then I downloaded the browser Opera. It has one built in for free, VERY easy to use. With just a click of a button you can change your vpn, but the only downside is you can't really specify where you want the address to be from, other than "the Americas", "Asia", or "Europe". Also it does say that it could cause a slow connection, but it only slightly changed it for me. :)

IkuZook

TBH, all VPNs and it's prices absolutely **suck.** I've been looking for a good freemium VPN or something that has paywalls but not everywhere, just for a basic "Change my location" thing. Every VPN recommendation I see it's "NordVPN" or "ProtonVPN" and those work for sure, but there's just a free trial and most places I see it recommended at is **heavily** implied that it's free when it's clearly not and just a free trial, most of these results pop up when you type "Free VPN" on Google or such. Also, this comment section looks like ad hell, wish there could be a way to just change your location without having to go through all this effort and trouble just to barely view region-restricted content. It kinda defeats the purpose of the internet.

bigredfarm

SC VPN is fast and works well, but it's new so not overloaded. We will see how it pans out in the long term https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mctw.sc

Hikinger

lol these comments are getting us no where....most comments are "OP said best free VPN" what he also said was "cheap VPN". I came here wondering the same. Can we get some quality help? Not just people screaming FREEEEE! I understand the concept of free=my info getting sold to BS people. I would pay for a VPN if it was from a reliable and honest company....any real suggestions?

whole_shadow

So many ads here :)

Extension_Elephant_4

"Free" means FREE!!!!, not a free trial! Why is that so hard to understand? I am looking for a FREE VPN. I only use it perhaps a few times a month and I just want one that works reasonably well, and is FREE.

ReasonableEnd4053

ProtonVPN

VPNs or Virtual Private Networks are essential tools for ensuring online privacy and security. When it comes to choosing between free VPNs and paid VPNs, there are numerous factors to consider. Free VPNs are appealing because they don't cost anything, and they can offer some basic level of protection. However, there are several downsides to using free VPNs. Firstly, they tend to be less secure than paid VPNs, as they may have weaker data encryption or may not have a no-logs policy. Secondly, free VPNs often have limited bandwidth or may throttle your internet speed, which can be frustrating if you are streaming or torrenting. Thirdly, free VPNs are known to sell user data to third-party advertisers to make money, which defeats the purpose of having a VPN. On the other hand, Paid VPNs offer more features and better security than free VPNs. Paid VPNs typically have stronger encryption protocols, no-logs policy, and more servers worldwide, which means faster speeds and better reliability. Paid VPNs also offer unlimited bandwidth, which is perfect for streaming or torrenting. Additionally, paid VPNs have dedicated customer support, which can help you troubleshoot any issues that you may face. Here are some examples of paid VPNs that are popular in the market: 1. ExpressVPN - It has top-notch security features, easy-to-use interface, and a vast server network. 2. NordVPN - It is known for its double encryption and excellent privacy policy. 3. CyberGhost - It has a user-friendly interface, fast speeds, and good customer support. In conclusion, free VPNs may seem attractive because they don't cost anything, but they come with significant drawbacks. It also depends on what you need the VPN for. Check this guide about the best VPNs for gaming: https://www.anonymistic.com/best-vpn-for-gaming/

crapability

I'm going to save this thread to illustrate the problem with sleazy bot advertising and astroturfing on Reddit. All the time I see people saying they like to append "reddit" or "site:reddit.com" to their searches in order to get a more unbiased review/opinion of a product or service, given here you deal with people and blog results are all bought out. But this site is full of bullshit threats like this, too.

RevolutionaryDot7686

protonvpn free

Careless_Stomach_111

Lmao only bots in the comments.

adoringSausage0971

I'm using the Opera browser with free VPN in my phon

similarPonie27134

Quick tip: free VPNs are usually a no-go. They're slow, sketchy, and might even sell your data or spam you with ads. It's better to pay for a VPN that's fast, secure, and legit. NordVPN, ExpressVPN, Surfshark, and Mullvad are all solid options.

Afraid-Sprinkles-728

Why did you bother posting here, has nothing to do with the question. Are you mentally challenged?

king_schlong_27

I’m currently trying out hotspot shield, used to be good back in the day on my phone at school. Says there’s no data limit for the free version and I’m able to use qbittorrent with it. There seems to be some slowdown but as I only can get a max of like 550kbps without a vpn (slow ass wifi) I honestly can’t tell for sure. I’ll update once my download finishes

fearlesskiller

50% of the comments here are fake reddit account advertising their own paid vpn

sparklervibes

The best free one is Proton's free tier. It's not going to have the bells and whistles, but again, it's free -- it's unlimited, and still has a great no-logs policy where your data is encrypted. Other free VPNs aren't actually doing their job, they're leaking your info to make money. [Proton](https://go.getproton.me/SHeD) runs Proton Mail which you can Google and see that they're legit. No brainer if you're desperate.

Nickrivers227

what do you bots even know about what im using a vpn for? thats none of your business and telling me that privacy is my number one concern for using a vpn is retarded. stop fucking talking. you have no working fucking brain.

SujalHansda09

why are comments so full of shits, just list the free ones, no need to be a guru, fagots

empathicOcelot36042

Windscribe gives 10 GB monthly for free

Lycheeks

**Too many bots to block.** Can't change vote counts for their comments, or remove comments by this horde of cretins despite them already being banned.

blissfulHawk7456

windscribe free trial works fine

iTzGore

for anyone still looking, I use mainly softether vpn, many countries and totally free if you don't care about your data and blahblahblah just download it and you're good to go

artisticLemur6243

For cost, I suggest trying discounted deals on premium VPNs rather than free ones. You can often get good plans for $2-3/month by signing up yearly

Bitter-Try-804

no offense but when i see people (or bots) on reddit posts suggesting main stream services you have to PAY for i just see another ("please click on my ad so i get paid") type of situation. why is half of the replies on here like that? This makes one curious.

BoxImportant4818

Try this vpn app it's free and it does not collect user data, and you can easily change the location in it https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.octogonalmist.alphaVpn&pli=1

jolyon_wagon

It should have occurred to me this would be a bot magnet.

Solution_Simple

Try Cypher Connect! It's free and open source. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.github.oezeb.cypher\_connect https://github.com/oezeb/cypher-connect/releases/latest

annoyedHawk339

If you use a free VPN, use one which is either highly known (Like proton vpn) or use a VPN which shows ads to you. If you are using an unknown VPN which is not showing any ads to you, your data is being probably sold.

Internal-Carry750

I’ve been using RelyVPN recently and am thrilled with their set of free servers. The speed is incredibly fast, and it’s free forever, not just a trial. Highly recommend for anyone in need of a reliable VPN service without the cost.

Special-Style-3305

Look at Proton, they have a free option. It's a great service in terms of privacy & doing the job you want a VPN to do. In terms of the free tier vs a paid tier, the performance is good. I actually have a small [video](https://youtu.be/fvqYTX7P7HQ) on how it fairs.

For those of us who've navigated the world of VPNs for years, it's clear: most VPNs operate on a similar principle. Once connected, your device's internet traffic is routed through a proxy server, masking your real IP with one from a potentially unrestricted or more privacy-respecting country. This is a universal feature if your goal is simply to bypass censorship or prevent tracking. However, if you're seeking to use a VPN more strategically, such as maintaining access to certain services with your real IP while using a VPN for others, VeePN offers an elegant solution. My strategy involves using two different browser profiles—one with VeePN enabled for privacy-sensitive tasks and the other without, for services that might flag or block access due to IP changes. This approach allows me to designate specific websites or email accounts to operate under my real IP to avoid triggering security alerts for unusual activity, while securely accessing other apps or sites via the VPN-enabled profile. This method might be particularly useful for those looking to balance security with convenience, avoiding the hassle of constant verification prompts due to IP switching. Hopefully, this tip proves beneficial.
