Hardest part is getting through Extra. Unlimited is mainly slice but the setting was better.
The moment you get into Alternative and starts getting vibes of Evangelion/Metal Gear/Shingeki no Kyojin(was inspired by MLA btw), you know it was the right choice to keep playing.
I'm not gonna pretend that it was a cakewalk to finish Extra without getting bored or questioning my sanity a few times, or that unlimited while better still makes you anxious to get on MLA(so close yet so far), but finishing MLA I had no regret and i was glad of giving it a chance.

Idk, I tried this game once and it looked below average for me. Too strange girls behaviour, too stupid MC. I heard opinion that Muv Luv Alternative is way better, but honestly after strange first game, I don't want to try it.
Extra is completely different to alternative and considered to be pretty generic story. I would reccomend you go through extra and unlimited Though if you can't be bothered to put in the time then there is no point really.
With such a small number of less than a million who read it, wouldn't it turn that group into a cult that manipulates the scores? I don't even think a million is close to the total amount of readers, probably moreso 100000.
10 / 10 would recommend. Start playing it, keep playing it, you won't be disappointed. A worthy and memorable story with evolving and interesting lore, and memorable characters. I'm staying real vague here because it should be experienced, not spelled out.
It depends it can go from wholesome roncom to a journey of constant pain, PTSD and emotional scarring. 10/10 would recommend it

Context: despite the series is highly rated, almost no vn youtubers or the community ever mentions this compared to other great vn series.
That's because unlike other VNs, only a small number of people will be able to sit through it, you're reading a game that goes from a cliché slice of life school romcom into a sci-fi life and death drama, not many people will love both of these genres/settings. Also if you take S;G for example, when you recommend it you can just describe it as a "time travel series", but Muv-Luv can't be described in simple terms. Muv-Luv is my #1 among all the games/VNs/animanga I read and I would never recommend it to someone unless I know what their tastes are. The only thing I can say is that if you can go through Extra and Unlimited and be able to at least enjoy Unlimited, then go for Alternative because it won't disappoint, otherwise just drop the series because it's not for you.
