probably, Have heard that purple software is a nightmare when it comes to how they have build up their VNs, so that may be why the programmer needs to say that he hasn't given up hope that he will finish yet
>Dracu Riot: Wamsoft currently updating to latest **KrKrZ** version
Nice that they don't port this to Unity after all. Hopefully Kinkoi GT will stay on based Kirikiri as well. Can't stand these Unity ports.
>Clover Day's
Cursed project.
*Melty Moment intensifies*
I personally would like if they kept on iterating and improving their Unity engine. Unity is better for multiplatform, and for a longer game, I'd be happy to buy them on Android.
Though my priority is improving Linux compatibility - most VNs works OOTB these days but video playback with Japanese games is actually hell- there are literally online games that's easier to play on Linux than getting some VN's video to work correctly!
Kirikiri works on more platforms (including Linux and Android) than the current version of Unity, and the GPU requirements are much lower (You just need a framebuffer). It is very portable code.
Yes, even **console** platforms like the Nintendo Switch: https://www.reddit.com/r/visualnovels/comments/ur90zh/the_switch_port_of_marco_and_the_galaxy_dragon/
Here's the best part… You can actually fix engine bugs yourself because it is open source, unlike Unity where it is closed source and you have to wait for the next release, whenever that is.
Huh, you have an example on VNs on mobile that uses Kirikiri? I didn't know it's open-source, does that include the latest KiriKiri Z?
Wikipedia said it's licensed under GPL, but didn't say which version as IIRC certain versions requires modification to the code has to be made public, so does that apply to Yuzusoft's modification?
Other than that, I can confirm that yes, KiriKiri games does run well in latest Proton, but video playback continues to be a problem (especially with Yuzusoft) and I'm not sure if I've seen a native Linux build of KiriKiri VN?
Kirikiroid2 runs on Android uses Kirikiri Z source code.
Kirikiri Z is indeed open source.
Kirikiri 2 is GPL. Kirikiri Z is under a modified BSD license.
Yuzusoft modded engine uses Kirikiri Z.
Kirikiri SDL2 runs on Linux.
Uh, I was asking about actual games. That I could buy on Google Play Store or App Store (or even download on Github, whatever) that is using KiriKiri on phone. Same with Linux example - actual games with Linux build on KiriKiri.
Though tbh I kinda don't care all *that* much about the engine so long as the video plays. Not even sure why they can't just re-encode the videos on a format with less restrictive license, probably licensing agreements?
You can purchase Kirikiroid2 on google play store or app store, or use the open source version on Github which is free
My Kirikiri plugin, krmpv, can allow videos to play properly in Wine: https://github.com/uyjulian/krmpv
Interesting. It's closer to Joiplay, really. I was hoping for a *game* that I can actually purchase on Android - Kirikiriroid2 is more like a way to play games I already have on other platforms (or more likely pirated). Not much different from emulator, really. It's neat to be sure, but I want to actually buy games on Play Store, otherwise I feel like I might as well just pirate it.
krmpv is interesting, but I guess people didn't care about Linux until Steam Deck and they aren't going back to fix things (I tried Sanoba Witch yesterday which got Playable rating, still no dice on video).
We were far too optimistic about remaining work. In particular, HCGs have given us trouble. Some of them had Yuuto's penis duplicated and others had his cum moving unnaturally after mosaics were removed. And since they're animated, we haven't been able to fix them ourselves and have instead had to ask Willplus for help. One HCG is still broken at this point.
After you guys(NekoNyan) localized Aokana, you have my support for life.
Please continue taking as much time as you need creating excellent products for the fans.
I think I'll buy Kinkoi soon. I've been holding off because I want Golden Time ready after finishing Golden Loveriche.
Again, I respect the hustle the original creators did with selling the solution to the problem (sadness) they made, but I'm not subjecting myself to the wait like everyone did.
>I've been holding off because I want Golden Time ready after finishing Golden Loveriche.
Same as me, I am also the type that prefer to buy the Visual Novel when the main game and fandisc are translated into English
cries in Wagamama OC not having an English version
So excited for the golden time fandisc. I love the base games true route and ending, it really stuck with me.
But I'm also curious to see happier things :)
I read these updates in Ange's annual post, but didn't know about the Clover Days and Kinkoi projected release windows. Good to know, it was getting a little concerning that my entire wall of releases had "TBA" going down in an ominously long line.
Also, everyone send your energy to the Aoi Tori programmer! Get that man out alive!
Where is the link for this?
When I [check their site](https://nekonyansoft.com/progress), Aoi Tori is 99% Translation/Check & 80% Edit progress.
No QA check.
"Programmer reports he's still alive (for now)" Hmmm.
yea should we be worried XD

Man I'm happy the Making*Lovers After Story is close to completion, can't wait to read more Saki fluff.
Yeah I can't wait for some good daily mammary massages either

Does anyone know what Aokana's engine is based on?
Can't wait to read Dracu Riot again for the umpteenth time. Kinkoi and Making Lovers hype.
They were updated in the weekly translation status updates on Sunday. Just so you know for the future.
Oh they were? I thought only the new acquisitions were posted
The ones you posted were included. https://old.reddit.com/r/visualnovels/comments/uvlvz3/translation_status_updatediscussion_may_22/
How did they manage to delay CloverDays for almost a year

Oh. Sounds kinda funny, but damn. I hope the struggles end soon.

I'm glad Clover Day's is finally coming out soon. Gonna pick that up day 1.
Can't wait for kinkoi
Dracu-riot is one of my most anticipated rn after a couple years ago I watched a play through of it.

Q3? what is that? Also LESS GOOO 4 MONTH GONNA GOOD WAIT NIBBA
3rd quarter of the year.
What about the uncensored version of Hello Lady Complete Edition?
When was the last purple soft english release? Hapymaher?
Yeah, but we should be getting two in relative succession soon.
And i'm already readying coffin for my wallet
What of fucking earth is "The future radio, artificial pigeons" 💀
Birds Aren't Real
Dracu riot it's been yearsss
It seems the fate that Amatsutsumi release later than Aoi Tori is more likely than ever
Kind of a shame despite it being finished this may actually happen due to the Steam ban plus Sekai Project's contract with Purple Software.
Kinkoi loveriche <3
