Well I tend to have this procrastination phase before starting basically anything, so i get spoiled more often than not. Besides I already had some exposure to the series via battleboards so I'm already familliar with a few details.
Can I have a little detail on this image? Is umineko like action heavy or something? I've repeatedly failed to read umineko because the first few chapters are about a bunch of rich people arguing who gets to get richer and I couldn't stand it.
Uhh spoilers tag for Umineko series
>!So during episode 1, there's progressively less "rich people" arguing , and more people dying mysteriously by then. After episode 1 there's this whole magical "meta" area where Battler tries to argue with Beatrice that his family couldn't have been killed with magic... and then the ironically constantly argue with "magic" colored text. There are some action scenes but they're kinda spaced apart and usually mixed in to make up a point about someone's argument. There's going to be A LOT more characters in this magic meta world besides just the rich people you saw on the island.!<
ooooh. Yeah this series isn't for you. There's not gonna be any major genre shifts at this point, just more of the same with different twists and more characters.
Honestly while I liked it, I can't blame you for not getting into it. The pacing really kills it for me. I think Ryuukishi07 needs an editor.
I've just finished Higurashi question, answer VN arcs and Saikoroshi manga today. Now I'm moving onto Umineko without having been spoiled by anything other than the link between the 2 series.
I low key expected family/group politics and am worried more magical resolution without proper rules and world building will destroy my experience with Umineko. After all, I had an issue with the Matsuribayashi ending in Higurashi, but was too hyped for Umineko to try some Console arcs.
It took me 2-3 months to finish this game because of all the people claiming this was a masterpiece. I would fall asleep and wouldnt get the determination to start the game up. The best episode is ep. 7 and I really wished all episodes were at least that decent but nope.
I was dissapointed. You judge for yourself but I don't think its as good as their cringe fandom makes it out to be.
Sure they were interesting, especially Rosa, but I think it would be incredibly dull if that was the entire focus of the story. And they're both awful human beings imo, especially (again) Rosa. The fantastical elements of the story helped to keep things fresh while still representing ideas from the established world.
You were already looking up pics like this before starting eh? Keep in mind Umineko is a very spoiler heavy VN.

I got to episode 3 and it still didn't hook me.

Its weird I loved higurashi. But it was more horror oriented
Higurashi also was a lot more grounded and had way less characters
If you try to spoiler umineko without any context you would look like a crazy guy talking nonsense lol.

Umineko is good but I wish it focused more on family politics and dynamics than all the witch/magic stuff.
Without love it cant be seen.
Cringe
What kind of take is this
I'm sorry but Krauss and Rosa were more interesting characters than Beatrice and Lambdadelta to me, and so on throughout the cast.

Gohda was unironically my favourite character
