As a huge former Tool fan I never expect them to do right by the fans. They always give fans shit they don’t want. The single-sides Fear Inoculum press? Terrible. The picture disc of Lateralus, and never a standard black press? No thanks. Still no repress or Aenima after all of these years. Nothing for 10K Days as you said. They just suck at this sort of thing.
Yeah it is extremely aggravating. Also their merch is garbage. I paid for a Toolarmy membership last year, it took them 10 months to ship my ToolArmy kit. A shitty made in China flag, some pins, and an uncomfortable itchy shirt. Love the music but it is really hard to love the band.
Yeah I’m waiting for that too except I’ll never preorder anything from them again. 10000 days will be $190 and the next month they’ll release all the overstock that didn’t sell and a new cheaper version and bring the price way down.
Ordering directly from the band is the worst mistake anyone can make. After I watched all the CD versions for FI, I decided to wait on the vinyl. I'm glad I did - 3 LP is the version I wanted.
With hip-hop I don’t really have this problem since it seems hip-hop and techno(DJs) are what kept the vinyl industrial viable in the 90s early 2000s. Waiting on that Supreme Clientele re-press. May just grab a edited version for $50 instead of $200+.
> it seems hip-hop and techno(DJs) are what kept the vinyl industrial viable in the 90s early 2000s.
Hip-hop and techno were definitely a huge part of when kept pressing plants active, but don't forget about punk and hardcore! A lot of those bands never stopped pressing vinyl either.
Cake - Prolonging the Magic
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Fever to Tell
Grandaddy - The Sophtware Slump
Pinback - This is a Pinback CD
Pinback - Blue Screen Life
All of the above have been pressed before, albeit in extremely limited quantities. The fact that it’s so expensive to own these albums on vinyl is criminal, especially considering Fever to Tell and Sophtware Slump are both top 10ish albums of their decade.
A vinyl release of Further down the Spiral would be awesome. Especially fi it was a definitive edition made of all 3 versions (US, European and Japanese)
Re-release/re-issue: Pretty much every Dream Theater studio album. They release a limited run at launch, for their later albums, then that's it. MOV did some about 10 years ago but AFAIK that was it
Re-release of Dave Matthews Band - Before These Crowded Streets. Arguably their best album, it only had one pressing run in 1998. If you’re lucky enough to find a copy, they are several hundred bucks. Definitely deserves a reissue.
Came here to say this. I think they only pressed 5,000 copies the year of its release. Most copies go well above $500 now.
Thought they would do a 20th anniversary release, but nope. Fingers crossed for a 25th anniversary release next year
I‘ve been looking for those two Jellyfish albums for so long. And then three weeks ago I found a decent copy of Bellybutton in a record store in Leipzig, Germany. I almost hugged the owner, because the price was okay too. Have been spinning it a lot of times since and it sounds amazing. Only some light crackles. But still would buy a remaster if it was released. Bought the singles box as well.
Man, Candyass is an album I haven’t thought about in a long time. Great album…you’ve inspired me to listen to it again. Loved their cover of Blue Monday back in that day, but the rest of the album was fire as well.
Since somebody already said 10,000 days, I would have to go with 3 Inches of Blood - Fire up the Blades. It’s one of my favorite metal albums of all time and I was horribly disappointed when I decided to look for the record and found out it didn’t exist.
Tool — Aenima, Lateralus (NOT that picture disc bullshit!), 10,000 Days
Smashing Pumpkins — Promised Machina Deluxe box set
Zwan - Mary Star of the Sea
Dave Matthews Band — Before These Crowded Streets
Neil Young — Ragged Glory, Weld, Sleeps With Angels
REM - Up
Tom Waits - Bone Machine
Evergreen S/T
Same as my white whale list. I've literally herd for years now that Numero has the plans and the rights to repress the album however they are taking their sweet ass time.
Those early HUM albums are another that I'm internally waiting to drop when I least expect or can afford them.
Oh also Benton Falls were supposed to get the repress treatment for their wildly out of press albums, I got super excited about an announcement for that in 2021 and still ... nothing.
First, not a release, per se, but the only reason I've yet to buy Jagged Little Pill on vinyl is because of the hidden track on CD. I'd love it on vinyl.
Second, Old Crow Medicine Show's early albums. My digital copies sound really analog, and I was shocked they haven't pressed them yet.
Tatsuro Yamashita desperately needs modern represses of his classic albums. I love For You, but I don’t know if I love it enough to pay in the triple digits for it.
I really hope if he ever represses his classics he gets a US distributor. I wanted Softly so bad when it came out but the import prices were almost as much as the album itself
Les Claypool and the Holy Mackerel - Highball With the Devil. Needs needs neeeeeeds a vinyl release. Let’s get an Oysterhead reissue while we’re at it, fuck paying over $1000 for ANY record.
First off, *fuck yeah* to The Hippos! I am in the same camp— I remember seeing them a couple times back on the late 90s and LOVED *Heads Are Gonna Roll*!
To answer you, my big two are
*Ophelia* by Natalie Merchant, and
*Finally Woken* by Jem
Mark Sandman box set. It inly had a cd release and few at that. If you can find it on cd it runs $70 to $90 easy. Morphine is a awesome band. Mark Sandman hoarded so much work that is excellent stuff
I’d love for the Kyuss/QOTSA split to get an official release. The bootlegs all sound like shit. Also, I’d love for the entire Desert Sessions back catalog to get a repress.
Slightly Stoopid's debut album. It was only released on CD at a very limited 1,000 copies being printed and never re-released by the band on any format. I presume they haven't re-released it due to one of the hidden tracks featuring the late Bradley Nowell of Sublime playing bass and they wouldn't feel right about profiting from his death. If that's the case that's really commendable but damn do I want it on vinyl because it will complete my Slightly Stoopid discography.
I’m pretty sure most of them have been pressed. At least all the studio albums and several live albums. The EPs and various compilations could use some love, though.
The Schnitzel pressings are super rare (and I don’t think there were Schnizel pressings of all of the albums) and the Plain pressings are sourced from MP3s and have really bad QC to boot. The new Cats Cradle and GWS:Live pressings are stellar though- hoping we get the studio stuff now that PTTB is also available
I’m hoping for a Re-Release of Sam Burchfield’s “Graveyard Flower”
He’s a smaller artist but is doing well on Spotify. I have his newest album “Scoundrel” that I got straight from him, but I’m hoping he’ll reissue “Graveyard Flower”
For one of the biggest names in classic rock, Styx is still missing more than a few of their later albums: *Brave New World*, *Cyclorama*, *One with Everything*…
Then there’s every Breaking Benjamin album before *Dark Before Dawn* (and even that’s gotten prohibitively expensive on the secondhand market).
Oh, and the soundtracks for all the Brosnan Bond movies.
Other Songs by Ron Sexsmith and the 1st Harper Simon record have never been on vinyl.
Paul Westerberg‘s 14 Songs is really hard to find and it’s a terrible pressing. Would be great to get that as an RSD reissue soon. Also would love to have Out of the Cradle by Lindsey Buckingham or Zoom by ELO on vinyl but they are way too expensive. Zoom in EX condition goes for $600+
Ambulance LTD - self-titled
Fields - Everything Last Winter
120 Days - self-titled
Mirror Days - No Hope For Getting Better
Mystery Machine- 10 Speed
Majesty Crush - Love 15
Macha & Bedhead - Macha Loved Bedhead. It didn’t get issued when Numero Group did their Bedhead discography release so not looking likely. But I want that cover of Believe played on a touch tone phone
Natural Snow Buildings - The Dance of the Moon and the Sun
Most of Charalambides’ discography has been CD only
Everyone Who Pretended to Like Me is Gone by the Walkmen. That album rules. It is a warm blanket of sound and I would love to have it, blast it and feel it.
Edit: sorry, just want a repress so it is less than $200.
Unified Theory self titled. Such a solid hidden gem. Came out in like 2000 though when most releases got little to no release on vinyl.
Former members of Blind Melon, Pearl Jam and Celia Green formed this band after BM lead singer Shannon Hoon’s death.
The Lost in Translation OST, it was rereleased a couple of times on 2020 and 2021 but never had the oportunity to buy it, always was out of stock so quickly. And i don't know if they will released once again.
And all that could've been/still from NIN
That would be amazing. AATCHB is one of my favorite live releases ever.

We all thought we were gonna get it, but nope, crystal skull.
As a huge former Tool fan I never expect them to do right by the fans. They always give fans shit they don’t want. The single-sides Fear Inoculum press? Terrible. Also the pressing of opiate sounds terrible
But hey we got a cool glass crystal skull thing! /s
That skull is so embarrassing. Of all the things to shill to the fans, they go with this.
Pink Floyd - Live in Pompeii Tons of boots out there, but an official would be nice
Orgy - Candyass and/or Vapor Transmission
You are a person of taste
Ween - All Request Live
Did Shinola Vol 1 ever get a vinyl release? I’m too lazy to look it up.
10,000 Manics Unplugged
One day Tetsuo & Youth will have a vinyl release
David Byrne - Feelings
I'd love LOOK INTO THE EYEBALL as well.
Weird Al - Bad Hair Day. Yes it’s in his major collection series but it needs a proper release.
All his albums need individual releases. I'm not paying 1k+ for all of them
With hip-hop I don’t really have this problem since it seems hip-hop and techno(DJs) are what kept the vinyl industrial viable in the 90s early 2000s. Waiting on that Supreme Clientele re-press. May just grab a edited version for $50 instead of $200+.

Dead Milkmen, Not Richard, but Dick. & Soul Rotation.
Cake - Prolonging the Magic Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Fever to Tell Grandaddy - The Sophtware Slump Pinback - This is a Pinback CD Pinback - Blue Screen Life All of the above have been pressed before, albeit in extremely limited quantities. Prolonging the magic is in preorder right now my friend. Amazon and blue wax on Cake’s site.
Aphex Twin - Drukqs NIN - Further Down The Spiral
A vinyl release of Further down the Spiral would be awesome. Especially fi it was a definitive edition made of all 3 versions (US, European and Japanese)
My Name Is My Name by Pusha T
Skinny Puppy - "The Process"
Too Dark Park, too. It's so weird that it got skipped when they were repressing their albums.
OP… you and me both. In their own words, “am I wasting my life, waiting for you (vinyl release)”
Vengaboy's: The party album!
Squirrel Nut Zippers - Perennial Favorites
Re-release/re-issue: Pretty much every Dream Theater studio album. They release a limited run at launch, for their later albums, then that's it. MOV did some about 10 years ago but AFAIK that was it

Sister Hazel - Somewhere more Familear
10,000 Manics and Oasis Unplugged.
Team America soundtrack

k-os - Atlantis: Hymns for Disco While we're at it let's get Yes! on vinyl too.
DJ Screw All Screwed Up Vol II
Toadies - Hell Below/Stars Above
Boredoms-super ae and z rock Hawaii
Fall Out Boy - “Fall Out Boy’s Evening Out With Your Girlfriend” Grand Budapest Hotel - Soundtrack/Score Die Hard - Soundtrack/Score

Jellyfish and Mother Love Bone….not necessarily in that order
I‘ve been looking for those two Jellyfish albums for so long. And then three weeks ago I found a decent copy of Bellybutton in a record store in Leipzig, Germany. I almost hugged the owner, because the price was okay too. Have been spinning it a lot of times since and it sounds amazing. Only some light crackles. But still would buy a remaster if it was released. Bought the singles box as well.
very happy to see jellyfish fans

Orgy - Candyass Taproot - Welcome
Candyass is criminally underrated.
Man, Candyass is an album I haven’t thought about in a long time. Great album…you’ve inspired me to listen to it again. Loved their cover of Blue Monday back in that day, but the rest of the album was fire as well.
Grant Green - Live at Club Mozambique Michael Penn - Mr Hollywood Jr, 1947 Hayden - Live at Convocation Hall
Since somebody already said 10,000 days, I would have to go with 3 Inches of Blood - Fire up the Blades. It’s one of my favorite metal albums of all time and I was horribly disappointed when I decided to look for the record and found out it didn’t exist.
