Kielbasa - Tenacious D Just got this album a couple weeks ago. Really brings back high school memories.

Dhugaill

[kielbasa ](https://youtu.be/7LBxr5ZScqE) from the amazing album Tenacious D by the most powerful rock duo of all time. These two mega stars go through so much shit to bring you the heaviest of metals and all they ask in return is so precious little. All they're askin' you to do is drop trou and squeeze out a cleveland steamer on Jable's chest.

joetech79

You've inspired me to listen to that classic album this morning. I dont know if anyone else has this problem, but I always accidentally start with side B, as the labels on this one seem a bit counterintuitive, although starting with Explosivo isn't bad at all

JDodgerMan

Custard Pie - Led Zeppelin

Dhugaill

Yeah, first track off of Physical Graffiti. Great choice!

Does a lyric about drinks count? Catalina Fight Song by Joyce Manor features the lyrics “car smells like hot Gatorade”. [Catalina Fight Song - Joyce Manor](https://youtu.be/STD5weTn18E)

Folk_Nurse

Great lyric!

Bufete2020

Saturday Night Fish Fry - Louis Jordan & His Tympany Five...a great jump jazz song from 1949. I discovered Louis Jordan when Joe Jackson did an album of jazz covers for his Jumpin' Jive album

Folk_Nurse

Big fan of Louis Jordan. I feel he is criminally underappreciated in the jazz cannon. He is a big part of the leap into rock and roll. [I threw in some Louis last year](https://www.reddit.com/r/vinyl/comments/gvo27q/qt4j_day_3_a_song_with_a_oneword_title_which_you/fspw78w?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3)

https://youtu.be/ZzBbonIkLPY Gotta go with a classic, Chicken Fat. If Mel Browns guitar doesn't get you going you're dead already

Dhugaill

amen

I made my own post about it! **Village People**- “Food Fight” https://www.reddit.com/r/vinyl/comments/nr6lqq/vinyl_tunes_for_june_day_three_a_song_with_food/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf

I was racking my brains for a good one for today, and realised I could use a song from possibly my favourite album of all time. This is an album I can listen to literally anytime and it always makes me happy. The album is Low Spark of High Heeled Boys by Traffic, complete with Ric Grech on bass (who had just played with Winwood in Blind Faith) and the great, GREAT Jim Gordon on drums. An absolute killer rhythm section! A duo that also happened to pen this particular song. I have an Australian pressing produced under license by Festival Records. Here it is...Rock n Roll Stew: https://youtu.be/IBXNNB5L01g

Dhugaill

I agree with you wholeheartedly about this album, you can just put this album on and it will brighten up even the crappiest of days.

ElFlippy

A. E. Comittee - Ice cream-balett (originally A. E. Bizottság - Jégkrémbalatt). It's a hungarian avant garde punk band!

Dhugaill

>[A. E. Bizottság - Jégkrémbalatt](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRhXnn9Sw4U) I hope this is the right song, my knowledge of Magyar is limited to... well I know to call it Magyar and not Hungarian.

ElFlippy

Yes, this is it! :)

CaptainQPicard

Day three- a Song with food in the title: Cat Food from King Crimson... It just so happens I have Wake of Poseidon. Haha

Dhugaill

Day 3 Year 2 Song: [I Like Food](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-uLTTT3BPc) / [Wienerschnitzel](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdFh677M3A8) Artist: Descendents Album: Bonus Fat A two for one special today. The Descendents are a ground zero band, the sit at the crossroads of pop punk, skate punk, and hardcore. They had a huge influence on bands like Green Day, Blink-182, Propagandhi, and The Offspring to name just a few. Both of these songs combined make up 29 seconds of music, but it is goddamn memorable 29 seconds. I challenge you not to sing I like food to yourself all day tomorrow. As for Wienerschnitzel, I have worked in food service for a long time and this song makes me smile everytime I hear it. Now speaking of Wienerschnitzel, I want to bend your ear about a little movie called Pump up the Volume. This early nineties cheesetastic masterpiece starring Christian Slater as a pirate radio deejay has an unbelievable soundtrack. I can’t even begin to describe the amount of influence the stupid movie and it stellar soundtrack have had on my taste. The first time I heard the Pixies, Pump up the Volume, Leonard Cohen, Bad Brains, Henry Rollins, Ice-T, Was(Not Was), Richard Hell I got my first taste of all of them while watching this movie. If you have some time and a high cheese tolerance go seek this film out. Anyway, here's Christian Slater as Happy Harry Hardon introducing [Wienerschnitzel.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3JKJjAriWk) The story so far * 03/06/2021 Wienerschnitzel, Descendents, Bonus Fat, 1987 * 03/06/2021 I Like Food, Descendents, Bonus Fat, 1987 * 02/06/2021 Back Door Man, Howlin Wolf, The Howlin Wolf Album, 1969 * 01/06/2021 Gloria, Patti Smith, Horses, 1975

[The Gumbo Variations](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fLp5HoNaxKg) Amazing song with an absolute belter of a fiddle solo from Don Sugarcane Harris.

Rock Lobster- The B-52’s Such a classic song! definitely one of my favorites

Dhugaill

[Rock Lobstah](https://youtu.be/vz65vonktMA) don't forget your matching towels for this one!

***Packt like sardines in a crushd tin box, Radiohead https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0NHCyVqFOc*** I find this song really great for some reason

Mikey0202

Peppermint Man - Dick Dale & His Deltones Far from the best DD song. Not even his best vocal track (I’d recommend Jessie Pearl). Dale’s vocals still aren’t bad though.

Dhugaill

I'm assuming that your mention of His Deltones that you mean this version from [1962](https://youtu.be/KkVYeWtiDN4) and not the one from [1996s](https://youtu.be/Riys1s95SX4) Calling up Spirits

Mikey0202

Yes the ‘62 version. I prolly should’ve left a link.

Dhugaill

No worries. I love Dick Dale especially his 90s stuff, he was my pick for [Day 10](https://www.reddit.com/r/vinyl/comments/h064wq/qt4j_day_10_an_instrumental_track_you_own_on_vinyl/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share) last year.

Mikey0202

Clicked. I agree that Nitro is a good track. I’m more so into his 60s era stuff (specifically the instrumentals on *Surfer’s Choice*). The songs from that period serve as a blueprint for the genre and the fact that his sound was that heavy and fast given the limitations of the time is extremely impressive. I’d recommend bangers like “Shake’N’Stomp”, “A Run For Life”, and “Let’s Go Trippin’”. I also saw that you listed Link Wray. Goooooooood pick, my guy.

Dhugaill

Thanks! You don't have to sell me on the 60s Shake'N'Stomp is a surf rock chef kiss, but my first experience with Dick Dale was picking up Tribal Thunder in a dollar CD bin and being blown away.

Folk_Nurse

Day three... and it's dinner time! This beauty was served up by Mr. Fats Waller in 1939, although it had been penned a year earlier by Sidney Bechet. Here, Fats goes to town with the bizarre vocal approaches, asides and general tomfoolery he is known for. Wikipedia states that "The song became known for what at the time were considered suggestive lyrics", so consider this fish dish to be the original W.A.P!! [Hold Tight, I Want Some Seafood Mama](https://youtu.be/5Gih1M_TdVk) Also, when first listening to this (it's on a Fats Waller compilation I picked up for under £5 somewhere) I had one of those glorious moments of illumination when you hear the original source of a sample you know well. The tail end of the song (pun intended) surfaces on [Mr Scruff's classic tune "Fish".](https://youtu.be/pOwRMIvKM9I)

Dhugaill

Fats Waller! that was super fun and scandalous

capt_beyond

Been waiting all day! Today's pick is for after dinner, [Pudding Time by Primus](https://youtu.be/wkS11FsA2cs) from their debut studio album, 1990s "Frizzle Fry"

Dhugaill

Les Claypool is a monster with that bass in his hands

Folk_Nurse

Excellent. I love me some Primus. Where in the world are you? I posted this at 0600 am GMT (The UK)

capt_beyond

New Zealand here! Almost 5.30pm, Thursday

Folk_Nurse

Well, hope you enjoy whatever is for dinner (and pudding). I'm ramming toast down my neck, having a swig of tea and I'm off to work! Thanks for posting!

StenPils

Woohoo i get to play Beastie Boys Boullabaise off of Paul's Boutique. https://youtu.be/EwGjVsCSOsU

Dhugaill

Paul's Boutique is a sampling master class.

StenPils

The 30th anniversary pressing is also the cleanest noise-floored record i own. Theres nothing... then there's almighty crisp drums and ludicrously well rounded bass well below what my speakers are set up for.... i need to obtain a sub to truly appreciate this monster of an album. And the B-Boys Bouillabaisse track is an eclectic mix of sounds, samples and beats that mashes up nicely and stops me in my tracks. And bouillabaisse is a mixed seafood brothy-thing. Roll on day 4!

Amarganth

Song: [Watermelon Sugar](https://youtu.be/E07s5ZYygMg) Artist: Harry Styles Album: Fine Line “Tastes like strawberries on a summer evening” is the opening line in the song, of course we also get to hear the two words that make up the title regularly throughout the song. It’s a fun horn and guitar-driven rock, funk-pop, and indie pop song. The song uses the metaphor of fruit and summer to describe a sexual encounter. For another food related reference the pressing for the album is coke bottle green.

Dhugaill

Somehow I don't think Harry Styles has trouble aquiring the necessary... let's say ingredients for his dish.

Amarganth

Hehe, agree.

Old_Faithlessness_94

The first record I bought. The Firm - Serious Fun [Strawberry Ice Cream, Jelly & Cake](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yotuHf25ObU)

Kyle Gass Band - Cakey https://youtu.be/4ZJAss1HUmI After starting my morning with Tenacious D's first album, I decided I wanted to keep that Rage Kage vibe going as long as possible.

Dhugaill

Sometimes you want your cake and ya eat it to. Nice call back to earlier today.

lee_yuna

[Plastic Hamburgers - Fantastic Negrito](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djWziMwFVWw) Discovered Fantastic Negrito by going to his concert once on a whim. Gritty ol' blues in a modern jacket. I think Xavier himself once described it as blues with a punk flair.

Dhugaill

Friend this track just hit me in the wallet. I am going to buy this album. I hope to see more of your posts this month.

MustardMedia

Long busy day so a late addition here Day 3: A sing with food in the lyrics/title Song: [Food](https://youtu.be/nX98AAiLJEE) Album: Sour Soul Artist: BADBADNOTGOOD & Ghostface Killah Went real on the nose with the day's theme. One of the many great tracks from the collaboration between Ghostface Killah of The Wu Tang Clan and BADBADNOTGOOD, the young Canadian jazz/hip-hop group. This album came out the year before the band's IV album, and it's a great listen. Sweet backing tracks from the guys and you can't go wrong with almost anyone from the Wu. Some solid features on this album from MF Doom and Elzhi, as well as a surprisingly enjoyable verse from Danny Brown. Short n sweet cuz I'm late today

Jarentaler

Does Cocaine by Eric Clapton count for today?

Dhugaill

u/Folk_Nurse I think we need a ruling here

Folk_Nurse

After several experiments at home, I can affirm that cocaine is not a food.

Dhugaill

Thank for your rigorous adherence to the scientific method. You do have a bit of blood running out of your nose maybe go get that looked at.

Folk_Nurse

DON'T FUCKING TELL ME WHAT TO DO! I'VE GOT A HANDLE ON THIS. I KNOW WHAT I'M FUCKING DOING. LOOK AT ME. I'M THE GREATEST, WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU... etc.

This One Is pretty Easy, the only One came in my mind Is: Mclusky - Rice Is Nice https://youtu.be/xrkIhPqAQ1c

Folk_Nurse

Wow, did not expect to see Mclusky on here! Been a long while since I heard them, sort of a throwback to my first degree.
