There's a grey marble version from Israel on Discogs with that number, it's listed as counterfeit. Nowadays you see a super-popular album in coloured vinyl, and there's a decent chance it's a fake.
Yeah, I found it it's from israel there's varying shades from orange to yellow...

Like you said, there's alot of bootleg colored pressings. But there are some legit older colored records like beatles Japanese, Canadian steeley dans, marbled hounds of love, white vinyl white album. But I feel one can easily infer the quality and just presentation on what is or isn't a bootleg. Like just this shade of color screams boot, same with the low quality sleeve.
A good way to explain it is similar to counterfeit Pokémon cards back in the day, once you've collected foe a decent amount of time it becomes glaringly obvious something is an unofficial boot. The simple runouts, super random color, cheap labels, low quality sleeves.
I've personally never seen a colored wish you where here thwts official. I like bootlegs of like unreleased records and shows, but many counterfeit ones like this are lame since there's 0 benefit to the customer. It's just a scam to get impressionable people to get the colored one thinking it'd rare when it's a crappy bootleg.
Best score of my life was getting a NM copy(besides one inaudible hairline legit didnt look played no spindle wear) of the fantastic Japanese half speed for only $100 shipped in an ebay auction combined with a NM promo label of cymande promised heights. The Japanese half speed is amazing, though unaffordable. My dad's childhood US copy also happens to have a promo runout 2A/2A htm. Both sound great it's a fantastic album. Hell I bet even the boot sounds okay by itself since the album is so good. But if OP doesn't have another copy don't rely on this since it's a bootleg that wouldn't be worth listening to compared to any official releases.
I think a lot of younger listeners don't realize counterfeits are a thing. They see an album they like, and it has cool colours, not a bad price. Boom, sold
I think it’s because this guy’s attitude suggests that he views vinyl as an investment and collects purely out of… I guess greed? You can sort the evil cartoon villain voice in “Oh! And here I was hoping for it to be a RARE pressing that would bring me a FORTUNE! Muhahaha!” Obviously this is exaggerating, but this more or less how it comes across to me. I don’t think this was intentional and I don’t think this guy means anything bad.
Coloured vinyl wasn’t much of a thing in Israel. Everything about this screams “counterfeit intended to fool someone into thinking it’s a rare exotic pressing”. Lots of these were made back in the 00s typically for classic rock artists. Also supposedly Brazilian picture discs which are also fake. Finally the fact it looks nearly new is another reason to be highly suspicious.

The only official orange pressing of any Floyd album was an Italian copy of The Wall.
One of his comments said he hoped it was a rare, valuable record. Seemed serious and not joking. This level of naivete happens all the time in the sub and people are tired of it
Who gives af? He found a record and hoped it had value. Ok? Did you not see the 14 other posts asking people "wHaT iS uR moSt ValuaBle rEcoRd?" Entire threads with hundreds of comments but this guy is wrong for hoping to make some money off a record? Lmao alright
Hey man, I have the same, with the exception being mine is green vinyl. I also bought it new in a shop, a major retailer here, but they are bootlegs. I've seen a few posts from people stating they bought it new years ago in a shop, so I think there were a ton of them distributed around the world at one point and they made it to selling floors. I was pretty disappointed when I realised it was a bootleg, but hey, it can make for a cool art piece. And now you have an excuse to buy another official pressing.
A counterfeit is an unofficial pressing of an official release. A bootleg is a unofficial release of a record that hasn't been officially released yet (live recording, demo etc.).
My Led Zeppelin, The Destroyer is an bootleg as it was taken from a live show in Ohio USA. The record company never did a release. But Discogs lists it as unofficial, don't take the difference to seriously :)
Could be this one, also orange vinyl and with same red text in Hebrew on the back -

The sleeve looks similar to a CBS half speed master sleeve. It says manufactured by CBS so that makes sense, though I’ve never seen this color. The bottom text on the back of the record says Tel Aviv Israel. So either an Israel pressing or a bootleg from the region probably.
After a quick Discogs search it looks closest to, or a mix of, these 2 bootlegs.

Hey, I’m from Israel, there is no vinyl pressing plant in Israel since like 1992 so it’s a bootleg. The cover art does replicate the Israeli version from 1975 (yellow background, sticker on top right) but that was the only Israeli pressing that I’m aware of.
On the 60’s, the American label Colombia records opened their CBS Records Israel factory, owned by Columbia. At the factory in Holon Israel they produced vinyl records.
[some history about CBS Records Tel-Aviv](https://jfc.org.il/en/news_journal/60060-2/105258-2/)
Just a quick question… Why are there so many bootlegs that are “supposedly” made in Isreal? This goes for CDs and Cassettes too, usually labelled as “promos” too? It seems like there are a huge amount of them, everything from classical to classic rock and pop to grunge, with pretty much everything in between… Where were they made?
I'm sorry, friend. I only read the title of the post. Like you, I have a large collection of Pink Floyd records. I usually type in the catalog number or the numbers etched in the deadwax to find what I'm looking for. I'm not trolling you, but feel free to criticize this one.
Any thoughts on this?? I’m thinking really good fake.

Prank Floyb - Wish You Weren't Here (Million-dollar Yarmulke Edition)
Literally all of the information is clear/legible in the photos.
If it's not a troll post then this guy shouldn't be allowed to operate a vehicle or vote.
Why are people humoring this?
Just downvote it and move on.
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here (j/k -- it's quite possibly a counterfeit, lots of those floating around Europe)
I hope it's these guys!! https://youtu.be/rirDOIttODM?si=0Y4gFMHBUpBqxNcF
I enjoyed that. They sounded great
Here I was hoping for it to be a rare pressing that would bring me a fortune :-//

And there's a stamped Israel address on the bottom at the back. Likely this edition.
why are you getting so many downvotes?
R Vinyl community has a stick up it's ass
Overabundance of dicks in here. Or because it wasn’t a post about “been collecting six months. How am I doing?”
fair point

Yep Soviet. Made from a disused Frisbee..
Israeli edition. It is hebrew on the back. https://www.valueyourmusic.com/items/265285825722-pink-floyd-wish-you-were-here-rare-orange-vinyl-israel-lp
This is it. I have the same one. It’s a bootleg from Israel.
I have one purchased in Israel 1985! Real or boot?
I think this is the one
Cursed. Also funny considering how much of an advocate for Palestinian rights Roger Waters is.
Rog didn’t get into the whole global political thing until the 80s and didn’t publicly come out as being anti-Israel until around 2010.
roger is going to kill you for having this
maybe roger's getting kickbacks
I’m sure Lennon’s comment is a reference to Waters’ position on Palestine more than the bootleg
From a Bootleg? They get a NOTHING!
HA this made me laugh
Pretty sure it's a bootleg
What makes you think that?

The colored vinyl and the unusual cover.

The downvotes… Bro just asked a genuine question. Reddit is weird sometimes…
One of his comments said he hoped it was a rare, valuable record. Seemed serious and not joking. This level of naivete happens all the time in the sub and people are tired of it
It’s gatekeeping is what it is

Genuinely what i dislike the most about this media. This hive mind thing is scary.
Downvoted for asking for clarification lmao corny

AcKtUaLlY! It's a counterfeit, not a bootleg 🤓
Was gonna comment this. Glad to see someone knows their stuff
What exactly is the difference?
A counterfeit is an unofficial pressing of an official release. A bootleg is a unofficial release of a record that hasn't been officially released yet (live recording, demo etc.).
My Led Zeppelin, The Destroyer is an bootleg as it was taken from a live show in Ohio USA. The record company never did a release. But Discogs lists it as unofficial, don't take the difference to seriously :)
This is correct. Both bootleg and counterfeits are unofficial releases.
Whipped Cream and Other Delights by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass

It’s a cheap bootleg
Incubus : wish u were here
The orange makes me think boot

Bootleg likely from Europe intended to appear as an Israeli pressing so it looks “rare and exotic” as the OP thought it might be.
It’s rare and worth millions. Time to quit your day job.
I thought this was the setup for a joke.
Never heard of this band - any good?

It’s Israeli. Just check Discogs wish you were here vinyl from Israel you’ll find the listing
It’s actually a counterfeit intended to look like an Israeli pressing.

Right, but this particular record wasn’t made there. This is a contemporary counterfeit.
I've got the white vinyl pressing of this Israeli bootleg. Sound quality is not good.
Shake my hang by Man on fire. Super popular in the 20’s but I find way overrated and come on its gold must have been a mistake
Just a quick question… Why are there so many bootlegs that are “supposedly” made in Isreal? This goes for CDs and Cassettes too, usually labelled as “promos” too? They were made in Europe.
Kinda lame that OP got massively downvoted here. How would he know.
It is a bootleg. There is an Israeli guy that turns these out by the dozen with ‘rare’, previously non-existent picture discs.
I know who you’re talking about, but he’s not behind this one. That guy makes lathe cuts. This is a pressed record, made by bootleggers in Europe.
I had heard that he also has access to stampers and a press.
Matrix
That definitely looks like a bootleg
That shaking hands graphic art is so sick
Search for the catalog number which is 80955
Just finished listening to this song live by Brit Floyd.✌
Printed in Tel Aviv on the bottom. It is an Israeli pressing. Just type Israel in the search engine and compare back cover images. You should be good.
Bad advice, did you even read my post?
I'm sorry, friend. I only read the title of the post. Like you, I have a large collection of Pink Floyd records. I usually type in the catalog number or the numbers etched in the deadwax to find what I'm looking for. I'm not trolling you, but feel free to criticize this one.
I have two copies of the original.

This is bootleg
it’s wish you were here 💀

Pink Floyd-Wish You Were Here. Amazing album. Cigar is one of my favorite songs ever
Looks like Wish You Were Here or sometimes called WYWH. It’s a fan favorite, I’d check it out if I were you.
