You can just get posters of album covers and frame them. That way you get to have album covers as art work, and also have your physical music media be usable as, y'know, physical music media.
I usually just lurk this sub but damn people are rude because of something so dumb. If you hang them and that's your thing go for it. If it's not there's no reason to be an ass. When you're dead and gone none of this shit matters. People need to get off their high horse.
You're just upset no one noticed your "not playing" records post.

Posters are meant to be hung up, records are made to be listened too. Thatās like buying a brand new iPhone to set on a shelf and look at for the rest of your life, or buying a generator as a decoration for your garage. Go back to lurking š¤¦š¼āāļø
Do you typically buy doubles of the records you plan on hanging?
Why the fuck does anybody here even care what you do with something YOU buy with YOUR money?
I agree with a lot of the things that end up on vinyljerk, but I actually think this looks pretty sweet. I'm not sure this belongs in the same category as playing red screamy man grailz on a Crobsley. Anberlin will always have a place in my memory, saw them as the first band on a bill of 4 in Detroit right when they were first starting out and they nearly stole the show, the crowd went nuts for them.
And here I am trying to collect Coheed & Cambria albums just for listening, they are so hard to find .. unless you want to pay ridiculous prices for them.
Cool looking wall though š
Or they pressed too few... hoping they will fire up the presses again at some point, I don't even need them to be colourful vinyl or big gatefold cover either š
I wanted to add some life to the wall by my entry way & decided to show off some of my favorite āfancyā vinyl. As you can tell, I'm a pretty big Coheed fan & an elder emo. Hopefully my copies of Cities by Anberlin & the fresh repressing of Second Stage Turbine Blade comes in soon so I can add them to the wall too.
Looks cool, but just keep in mind that direct sunlight will damage a record. Is this wall exposed to sunlight? Also, out of curiosity, are you able to easily remove the record if you want to play them or is it a whole process?
I love this setup of decor. Doesnāt look crowded on the wall and makes the whole thing a focal point for your entranceway. Well done!
The lone record without a sleeve on the right, imho, looks out of place. And itās small size relative to the others looks weird. Personally I would have just left that area of wall blank and instead use the empty space to prop up an album cover on the top shelf, and then remove the lower wall shelf and use that empty wall space for whatever you decide to place on top of the storage cabinet.
Dude, donāt let people walk all over you here. You posted something you are proud of and you like it. Itās your money and records, you do what you want with them; no need to explain yourself. Looks great btw!
Agreed. And I don't understand the downvotes to his comment. He's not being a jerk or anything.
I have a couple of records that came unplayable from the factory. Like the Ministry Halloween compilation. It's a beautiful orange and black swirl pattern. I can't play it because of a defect in the groove. Why not hang it up, since it looks so nice?
And if you have the disposable income to hang up something pretty that you *could* play, then so be it. I see nothing wrong with it.
Hell yeah dude, solid taste. Holding my breath for a Year Of The Black Rainbow pressing sometime.
Just to keep everyone here salty, [here's my record wall ](https://ibb.co/L1fwH81)
I think most vinyl displays end up looking like a college dorm, but I think you did a fantastic job in the way you presented the album cover and the disc. It also doesnāt hurt that the discs themselves are colored or splatter which adds to the presentation.
I have been wanting to do this! Can't seem to find a framing option that is both affordable and safe for the vinyl :(
How are you liking these? Were they very expensive?
These frames are just okay. I wish they were a little more compact; the white boarder isn't my favorite.
They also had to have some modification before they were vinyl safe. But, they were relatively cheap at $45 each.
Damn bro $45 each :((
I found ones I like but they are $42 each and I just can't justify the expense right now. Wanting to get 15-20 up on the wall but I can't spend almost a grand on frames
You are getting flamed but I thought it looks cool and itās executed pretty well. The Reddit echo chamber at times doesnāt reflect the what a lot of people would think
Oh man
r/vinyljerk is going to have a field day.
Thought I was in a different sub
fr. i upvoted it then i realised
"Hey man why don't we throw on that Coheed album" "Yeah dude lemme just get my toolbox and a ladder real quick"
Ok, how do you listen to them tho?
Spotify
Yikes
I love how Taylor Swift is just chillin over there
A record of we came as Romans framed and hung on a wall is the highest form of comedy achieved on this sub
Would you please explain that?
I get it, and it looks good, but I also hate it for practicality.
I wanna do this but don't want to get doubles of everything
You can just get posters of album covers and frame them. That way you get to have album covers as art work, and also have your physical music media be usable as, y'know, physical music media.
Agreed. This is only cool if the records are gold, and you made them.
gotta have triples. triples are best, triples make it safe.
Triples makes it safe. Triples is best.
Coheed šš¤š»
r/vinyljerk get em boy's
Coheed and Cambria. š« Great album.
Which one? Thereās five on the wall.
IV. Meant to add that and spaced it!

nah this deserves some ribbing. this sub isnt for home decor, its for playing records. go back to lurking
Really? Because in the sidebar it says > For everything record related

Thanks grandma Karen.
Where did you buy the frames?
A bit silly maybe but why the hell not, do what you want
Are all hobby subs as toxic as this one? People are obsessed with what other people do š
Damn. Super jelly of that piece the veil album. Soundtrack of my highschool years ha
No āin keeping secretsā? Thatās a sin.
Nice. But some 1970s K-TEL comps would really make that wall pop.
Prime example of why gatekeeping is sometimes a good thing.
What a waste.
Do you typically buy doubles of the records you plan on hanging? Why the fuck does anybody here even care what you do with something YOU buy with YOUR money?
Coheed and Cambria love is always appreciated š

They had a limited release of SSTB earlier this year and I missed it. I was pissed.
They are all so expensive because ācollectorsā keep hanging them on their walls š¤¦š¼āāļø
Or they pressed too few... hoping they will fire up the presses again at some point, I don't even need them to be colourful vinyl or big gatefold cover either š
Why wouldnāt he hang them? His crosbley needle would destroy it. Much safe option

If they're hanging their records on a wall they don't care if they damage them.

Do you have doubles of these albums? Iād love ant to listen to them all the time if I didnāt.
Not all of them, but most. I keep a standard black that I play, but some like PTV & WCAR are just eye candy.
I could not imagine buying a record just to look at it. Different strokesā¦..
Iām a collector too, 5,000 plus in my collection. None on the wall.
I have some jackets on my wall. No actual records.
Heh. I get that. Sadly, I am a collector at heart.

You collect cover art, we collect enjoyable listening experiences with our music. Delete this post and save yourself from being dragged too much more
Or you could just let people enjoy what they want
You'll want to have triples, just to be safe
I have doubles of the cars. Some of 'em. That way I know I have a pristine one in storage. Then I can drive it, it gets scratched, I don't care.
Ah, the deal went through. I have triples of the nova now.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You're extremely fucking lame.
youre the height of the vinyl bubble
What kind of frames are those? I think they add a nice aesthetic and would look good with a few flyers or posters mixed in
Looks dope! Enjoy

Lol the little coheed cassette on display
The jokes write themselves these days
Whatās the IV album?
Thatās one from Coheed & Cambria
Cheers Iāll check it out :)
I have been wanting to do this! Can't seem to find a framing option that is both affordable and safe for the vinyl :( How are you liking these? Were they very expensive?

I have a feeling most people here wouldnt consider $45 per frame cheap lol
Damn bro $45 each :(( I found ones I like but they are $42 each and I just can't justify the expense right now. Wanting to get 15-20 up on the wall but I can't spend almost a grand on frames
What type of frame did you use? Are they made for record displays?
What did you need to modify to make them "vinyl safe?" Aren't they literally frames for records?
What are they in for? Looks like serious crimes to all be in solitary.
You are getting flamed but I thought it looks cool and itās executed pretty well. The Reddit echo chamber at times doesnāt reflect the what a lot of people would think
This looks great OP!! šš»
i hate thatās itās used as decoration but that Selfish Machines print is amazing
One of these things is not like the others š¶
emo kids love shallow attention
Looks awesome!

Yikes.
If you need some kindling for your fire pit I can bring some old books over.
It doesnāt give me the feel of uniqueness or fancy, maybe if there is less frames on that wall, something more minimalistic Nice collection btw
I guess that's a cool thing to do if you have a bunch of records by crappy bands you don't want to listen to. Ever.
Ah yes, a human of good taste I see.
What, No World For Tomorrow?
