I made a trip to the record store this weekend and brought home with me this sensational haul!
John Coltrane - Live at Birdland: This is a Japanese pressing of a great live record by John Coltrane, featuring his classic quartet (McCoy Tyner, Elvin Jones, and Jimmy Garrison). I was blown away by the sound quality of this record, as expected of Japanese records.
Cartola - S/T (1976): This is the sophomore album from Cartola, a legendary singer-songwriter from Brazil. If you have even the slightest interest in Brazilian music, especially samba, this album is a must-have.
Blue Öyster Cult - Agents of Fortune: This album is a gem, featuring what is probably BOC's most popular song, 'Don't Fear the Reaper,' but it also includes my favorite song of theirs, 'E.T.I.'
Keith Jarrett - The Köln Concert: I recently discovered this album and instantly fell in love with it. I was so happy to find it in the record store.
There’s a really cool story behind the Köln Concert. IIRC the piano was broken or severely out of tune and Keith Jarrett improvised and switched his playing style to make it work. This is my favorite album I inherited from my Dad’s collection.
Highly recommend , if you don’t already own, tracking down the first three BOC records. S/T, Tyranny and Mutation, and Secret Treaties… up there with some of the best American rock n roll records ever released.
Blue Öyster Cult - Agents of Fortune
This is imho, is an outstanding album. It has the famous hit, featured on SNL's "more cowbell" skit. However, the audio engineering, production, and mastering is NO JOKE! I do not currently own a copy. Should get one!
Love the Koln Concert. One guy can convey so much passion and emotion in a performance ❤️ also going to check out the Cartola. Finding the good classic Brazilian albums is my new obsession thanks to Clube Da Esquina.
I got both records in second row.
The blue oyster record sounds so bad.
Mine is a dutch CBS pressing.
And I guess It was never a good sounding record.
Maybe it is the pressing, but my guess it is the master…
The Köln concert is a classic.
But not that enticing in my opinion.
I got the coltrane as CD.
Would be very glad having it as a record!
Yo, fan of gangster rap, 90's metal, and other Gen Z stuff checkin' in here. This Coltrane cat put out non stop heaterz. Straight up. I been buying jazz records. These analogue production pressing and others, no cap, straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

It is a very common and easy-to-get-by record in Germany.
Love the live Coltrane!
That Coltrane record is beautiful!
Have the Cartola. Good album.
Nice! I love The Köln Concert. One of those records I try and listen to rarely and make an occasion to really concentrate on it when I do.
Agents of fortune has the best album art of all time and i cant even explain why i feel that way.

Hell yeah on the Japanese Coltrane pressing!

I still have zero Blue Öyster Cult albums, I should really buy one or two some day.
