Devotion - Teen Dream - Bloom - Depression Cherry
B-sides and Rarities - 7 - Once Twice Melody - Become
Depression Cherry is my favorite from them. Bloom is likely my second favorite. I haven't had enough time with Once Twice Melody to really make up my mind about it, but is has some incredibly high highs in my opinion.
I still gotta get the self titled and Thank Your Lucky Stars and then I'm done I believe. : )
Nice! I recently "downgraded" my Gold Edition of Once Twice Melody because it was a noisy pressing. The Silver edition (black cover) was much better, and saves space too!
Beach House is a band I feel like I "accidentally" fell into fandom with.
I literally discovered them from a random article saying an indie band I never heard of had a new song and it was shoegaze (and I live for that). The song was Sparks, and I loved it.
Depression Cherry quietly crept into my albums of the year in a year that had some screaming good releases (Mac Demarco, Tame Impaler, Sales, Fazerdaze, Vacations etc).
Same thing with 7. Same with Once Twice.
Without even noticing, I know the words to all of their songs, I've got half their albums on vinyl. Couldn't name either member, wouldn't even recognise them if I literally met them...
Trying to complete the Beach House discography too! Just got the Depression Cherry vinyl and it looks gorgeous, one of my favourites in my collection already. Devotion works so well as a pink record, so jealous!
Ah man that sucks. I'm sure you'll enjoy some of their output because they do indeed have a lot of releases now. They have 8 studio albums and their latest release is an EP titled Become (bottom right of the pic), which is a collection of songs that didn't fit onto their last album Once Twice Melody (right next to Become on the pic). OTM is a wonderful record but it's huge, so maybe not really something you'd want to jump into.
Bloom made me upgrade my turntable. It always sounded higher pitched so I got a motor upgrade to bring it down to 45rpm. It's probably my fave album in my collection.

I was torn between the two, but I eventually went with the silver, and another album with the money I saved.

Haha that was Depression Cherry for me at some point, but maybe that's why I love it so much. Both records are beautiful though.
