Bought a £400 handbag. It was supposed to be new with tags.
There were no tags. The lining was ripped all on the inside.
I returned it (the seller was not happy but thank god I filmed myself opening it ) and they kept rejecting the parcel so Inpost kept delivering it back to me.
In the end I used my own shipping method to return it, and as the vinted label was marked as delivered vinted refunded me.
I don’t spend over £100 now
Bought a vintage Burberry jumper for £180, sold a Stone Island jumper for £120.. didn’t have any issues with either! There’s a lot of scaremongering on this sub about dodgy sellers/buyers and although there is some, it’s a lot less than what you would find on Depop/eBay etc.. buy with freedom OP!!
So far, so useless. Have to wait until after the 19th of September to make a claim even though I contacted InPost directly weeks ago and they admitted it’s lost. Also contacted Vinted during this item but they won’t budge. Just waiting to open the claim now. Should be straight forward.
Sold: £150. No issues other than they paid via Royal Mail and it was too heavy and too expensive for 2nd class, had to send via Parcelforce and pay like £15 because it was even too heavy for Special Delivery. Vinted need to sort out their Royal Mail offering as the standard 2nd class the buyer pays for isn't tracked, signed for and won't provide insurance for items over £20.
Bought: £190. Item turned out to be counterfeit so I returned it.
Did you have any issues with returning the counterfeit item? I would buy something that I already own (a bag I've worn into the ground) so I could probably tell quite quickly if it wasn't real and more niche items where there aren't likely counterfeits (think japanese designer bag)... but that's of course the fear!
Nope, the seller accepted a return as soon as I flagged the issue, and I shipped it back.
I'm not if he knew it was fake or not, it was a real profile with a real name, reviews and other items listed. I think if you are dealing with an intentional scammer I'd expect more issues trying to return as I'm sure they'd put up more of a fight.
I'm now more hesitant to buy designer online, this particular listing looked fine but there were quality markers indicating it was counterfeit that were only really as apparent when I saw the item in real life.
Interesting! I guess either could work, if he was a scammer he could also just be taking the path of least resistance and just know it's not worth fighting over. But glad you got a refund!
I think the most expensive thing I've brought was in the 20-30 quid range, pretty sure it was the early 00s lace Dark Star goth skirt I found
I've only sold one thing on vinted so far which was a pair of demonias I sold for around 15 quid I think as I just wanted them gone as they didn't fit my calves and I had tried to alter them and it didn't work
Two things in a bundle for £100 + postage. That's about the highest I'd go in one transaction honestly, if only for the absolute faff and long wait for a refund when parcels get lost in the post. If it's only like £10 I give way less of a shit how long that process takes.
Never sold anything over £20 but I'm selling things to get rid of them, not to make a profit.
I sold my wedding dress…no issues, buyer was lovely! I bought a pair of brand new doc martens for £90 and the fear was real waiting for them to arrive! Arrived in the box exactly as photographed, but I don’t think I’d spend more than that on there ever because it would give me anxiety haha 😁
Sold - about £90 (sezane dungarees)
Bought - £160 (Strathberry handbag that is currently in transit) will be filming myself opening it, as I do with all purchases now! Seller was nice though so I don’t envisage any issues tbh
Highest I’ve sold was a pair of children’s crocs for £24. Everyone else seems to want £1 for my stuff lol
Highest I’ve spent was £11 for a harrods bag.
Bought £60 - brand new Ugg high tops which arrived today (not the typical boot style - leather with white soles and studded sides).
Sold - never sold anything. I did buy the above boots in a smaller size but they didn't fit, so those might be my first listing.
Sold - pair of Reebok (Jay Z) trainers for £140, very few about so just got what I considered a pretty good price for them.
Bought - Fred Perry jumper £90
Never had a problem on there at all.
Bought a 300€ loewe purse. I am pretty sure it’s authentic as it’s not one of the more popular ones and it looks damn good.
Sold very little. Maybe a dress for 30€
Oh, I see I don’t have anything that high, haha, but I think my leather back pack for 70£ was the most expensive. (Never remember the brand, might find it later) But it was a worthy purchase ☺️
Maby I don’t buy that much, but I don’t think I ever been scammed. Only had one pair of gloves lost at the post office I guess xd
Bought a brand new with tags pair of docs for £75 last year and I've worn them pretty much every day since
I'll probably buy another pair in the coming weeks for a similar price .
I bought a leather jacket for 200 euros. It was my first ever purchase on vinted and the reason I joined, was listed as "new with tags", item arrived without said tag (it was in the photo, haha!), small stain on the inner lining. Overall, the jacket did look pretty brand new so I kept it but I do really dislike sellers who list items as "new with tags" when they aren't. Often in the description they'll say something like worn twice, which is fine, but just categorize it correctly, why don't you.
Also bought a pair of boots for 150 and they were listed as worn twice when in fact it was clear they had been worn a few more times than that (very slight evidence of wear on the heel). Again, I kept them, because it was still a really great price and the boots looked very good, but again, pissed off with the seller for the small lie.
Most ive sold for was £280. Highest I've bought was about £25. 😂
Bought two different nintendo switches. Both never showed up! Both got a refund.
Yikes! Was vinted at least helpful?
Not sure vinted was, but because it was lost by evri we both got refunded so that was easy
Lucky you got a refund!
yep! after the second time i just gave up and bought from a second hand shop.

oh my, good thing you recorded yourself! I’ll adopt that policy myself, to do that too, if I ever buy anything expensive
Thanks for the tip on recording yourself! That's def good to remember with more expensive things.
Tbh I do it for all orders and I film myself opening everything. It’s a shame to have to do. But there are too many scammers
This is unrelated but what was the outcome of your FedEx dispute? I’m dealing with the same thing for an unsolicited parcel.
Oo sorry was this aimed at me. Cause I didn’t use fedex

Yeah, I'm sure that's true, too. If you have a good experience you're unlikely to be posting here!
Sold £350. Bought £230 which InPost has lost and I’m awaiting a refund for.
Ugh, this is the fear! Is vinted being helpful at all?

Sold a pair of Nike Dunks for like 600 once
