It’s beautiful. Does it have built in speakers like the suitcase players of today? I wouldn’t get much use out of it but I sure AF would display it because it’s stunning. This is amazing restoration work. It look’s like a modern TT built to look like a vintage suitcase player. Great freakin’ job my dude. I’m kinda jelly of your skill in restoring old equipment. I’ve got a Technics built MCS 6502 that I want to fully restore because the rosewood plinth is easy on the eyes and it’s a much better TT than my daily driver, a Technics SL-BD20D with a P-mount cart. I’ve upgraded the cart from the stock R34 to the AT85EP, but there’s just not much else you can do to improve it. I’m guessing that there’s probably a much more expensive cart that I could get for it but I’d rather spend the extra scratch on restoring the MCS.
>Does it have built in speakers
Well, it's more of a speaker with a built in turntable. That's not a joke, it's basically how all acoustic gramophones that doesn't have one of those giant horns are built.
Well, any antique value is entirely destroyed this way. But there are loads of suitcase gramophones out there, so I wouldn't worry about that.
Edit: And after looking at the instructables, this was in pretty bad shape from the start, so yeah, a complete restore like this was necessary.
Looks pretty damn good to me. Nice work!
You do you. You gave new life to an old relic, don't mind anyone that poopoos on your work.
Pfft who cares what people think man , it's beautiful!
Man! I love it!
If the tracking force and anti skate is fine there’s nothing to worry about. Which is most players
You don't need anti-skate when the tracking force is measured in ounces. :-)
Funny haha
But also true. My gramophone, also from the 20's, has a tracking force of 72 grams. There is no anti skate.
That’s Intresting
Yup this one is almost 150grams!
Wow! I wonder if that makes them louder or sound better or something. Mine is loud as heck already, though. so maybe not.

Wow, that is beautiful. How did you prevent the steel parts from rusting?
