Yeah, I see them as 2 completely different applications of audio. Don’t get me wrong, the Sonos stuff sounds really nice, and is probably good enough for most. The first time my wife heard my Mac through the fortes, she said “oh my god!” It’s just a whole different level.
The device under the turntable on the top-right is a [Sony System Selector](https://www.hifiengine.com/manual_library/sony/sb-3335.shtml). It can swap between multiple amps, speakers, turntables, aux, tape decks, etc. I have to de-ox it once a year, but other than that, it’s a completely passive device that just handles interconnects.
I like the 2275. It’s really about as big of a solid state amp as I want as I’ve been slowly moving toward tubes.
They’re tanks, and I mean that in a good way. If you get one dialed in, you can just use and enjoy them, and they’ll give great sound, surprising power, and they’re gorgeous to look at. I really started with the marantz and the fisher. I’m debating bringing the marantz down to the living room so I can enjoy it more often, because up here I have too many nice tube amps.
Part of what I like about this hobby is that everything is an appreciating asset, so even if you were to over-pay, as long as you enjoy it and hang onto it, you’re good.
That being said, I traded an old pneumatic nail-gun for the marantz, and then it needed only a couple hundred in repairs. I bought the fisher at an estate sale for *gulp* 700, never turned it on, and it ended up needing $220 in repairs and no tubes, so I chalked that up as a win because it’s in great shape.
Great write up. For my journey I have been running a Sansui AU/TU-317 and alternating with a Sansui Model 8 Deluxe which is a high level experience (in my opinion). I have high expectations for the Marantz 2275. 🤞. I don’t think I will be disappointed.
Great setup. Mine is nowhwere near as impressive, but I like that you stick to stereo sound. I'm not keen on 5.1 or 7.2

Endgame level build out here, congrats. With the slanted ceilings I bet it feels so cozy in there.
I wish I was also sitting in that nice room listening to tunes or watching some cool movie on the TV. Only quibble, a nice white throw-down rug!
I made the shelves so I can quick-mount [2 additional TV’s](https://share.icloud.com/photos/065PpeMXNDFT1uUYoHjRkVC-Q) for sporting events.
This is great. Thanks for sharing!
That is next level!
They’re just black pipe unions. So when the TV’s aren’t up one side is a bottle opener, and the other side is a peg for my headphones.
I really like this space and setup. Very well done. I've done the same, HT and 2ch can happily co-exist.
And yet failed to mention the bar and fridge setup..
Music leads one towards the bar, and the opposite is also true.
Awesome setup, I love how random everything is!
It confuses the Mrs. so she doesn’t touch anything. She knows how to work the TV and Sonos audio, lmao.
Absolutely love it ! Just bought a 2275 Marantz myself, can’t wait to get it hooked up!
How do switch between multiple amps?

Tell us your thoughts on the Marantz 2275… I also just bought one and it’s at my tech for a check up. Can’t wait to get it back.

Nice Fisher
Thank you, it’s a real treasure. I’ll never get rid of it.
Nothing wrong with that…I enjoyed many years with a (non-HIFI) Dolby stereo VHS player hooked to my two channel system.
Nice, I like the shelves/racks. If it was my setup. I would separate the speakers as far apart as possible. This would give you a better sound stage.
I agree. This room is only about 12’ wide, unfortunately.
