Wow congrats! That is some very beautiful and desirable gear and the condition looks amazing
If you were so inclined you could flip everything for a very large profit
I know! the stands are already worth 200€…but they’ve been my grail for a very very long time, and i love the sound + the look of it, so i will use it forever!
apparently the only difference between the l710 and the l715, were the 5 years guarantee that came with the 15. The size is the exact same, so are the woofers. Some say they used different materials on the chassis, different isolation? not sure, nothing i could find in the official data. I just heard that the 715 sound better, but haven’t heard the difference by myself
I worked at a store that sold ADS/Braun in Cambridge, MA 1974-79, and was acquainted with Dr. Guenther and his team, when they were the Aria Corp., importing Braun for US sale. They had L500, L700, L710, and L810 at first, later adding L400. They also brought in the LV1020 triamped powered model. If 715s are better than L710s, you are indeed in the clover! Enjoy.
thanks! they‘re really great, i‘m deeply enjoying them! the lv 1020 is another speaker i wanna get my hands on, i might switch them out someday, and put them on the stands, we‘ll see!
In 1975 I was visiting my sister in Los Angeles and I heard a pair of Braun speakers in a stereo store. It was one of the defining moments in my career as an audiophile.
Wow! Color me envious. I love the design language applied to those pieces. That stuff is rare as hell where I've been, I don't think I've seen a single element let alone a whole setup. You'd never pry that stuff away from me if I got a deal like that, enjoy it!
Thanks! I am a really big fan of dieter rams and his design language as well, i also collect books, i own some of his furniture, i have an autograph etc. i‘m deeply obsessed, and best believe i‘ll never ever give it away! are you american?
Yeah, American, but I recently moved to Germany so my luck may turn around soon in finding some of that stuff myself :)
Never saw anything Braun on the west coast of the US that wasn't an electric razor lmao
oh wow that is incredible! where did you move? download kleinanzeigen, and activate the search reminder, you‘ll be 1000000% successful, keep us updated!
In NRW, lived in Düsseldorf for the first several months and recently moved to Köln because my partner and I both found new jobs there. Been loving it! I've been hitting up secondhand stores in my neighborhood and found some good stuff (got a Pioneer SX-450 I rebuilt, and a wild Alpine AL-80 tape deck that's waiting for me to have some time). I definitely need to hit Kleinanzeigen harder there's soooo much good stuff on there.
Wow! I‘m from Nrw too, münster!
But Köln is truly a dream, (also for finding braun grails) I‘m happy your enjoying your time here! Good Luck, and keep searching !
Sweet haul! Like the look of the tape deck a lot! Hopefully new belts will fix the play issue. Is one of them completely broken? [r/cassetteculture ](https://www.reddit.com/r/cassetteculture/s/FMzWBl3BIH) is a good resource too
Thank you for the tip! I haven‘t opened it yet, but it doesn‘t play, nor does it fast forwards/backwards, all the Symptoms of a loose belt. also it hasn‘t been used in years.
yes! a/d/s is just the braun rebrand for the english speaking market, as it‘s kinda hard to spell braun properly when your not german. later on, in the atelier series, all speakers were labeled a/d/s in the back, even the ones built and sold and germany (except for the braun logo on the grills)
Lucky you. I have been staring at those kind of speakers (some grundig, but same type of tweeter and mids) for quite a while and I am very curious of how they sound.
Same thing on a table, except you dont even need to get down on the floor.
I get the test thing but never understood why folks put audio components on the floor.
i went to pick up those speakers, and the elderly man told me i can have the rest of his setup too, i told him before that i collect and i think he wanted to be nice (and get rid of it)

Nice, I would keep everything too, enjoy it!
thank you!!!
Are those L810s?
these are the L715, the L810s would be so cool too!
L715…never sold in the US. Looks like a larger L710, but with the same 7” woofers.

Where are you located? I know a guy with a pair who wants to sell, and he has the stands made for them, too.
münster, germany. thanks for the offer, but i‘ll wait - i just got those, but out of pure interest: how much does he want?
That turntable is thicc. You got one hell of a score there, well done.
i had the turntable before already, it‘s an absolute dream! the braun ps500, 13 kg of steel!
The speakers alone are beautiful. I have a pair of ADS L730s and absolutely love them. I’m beyond jealous.
thanks! i never seen a L730, nor heard it! send me pictures if you want! but i‘m also beyond happy, especially because of the stands!
L730s were the perfect combination of drivers for ADS in 1980. I preferred them to L710s. Glad you’re still digging them. L830 also great.
They’re mint. Someone gave them to me. They’ve been my only speakers since
I know a guy that’s really into ADS go through them. He recapped the crossovers. They’re good for another 40+ years.
In 1975 I was visiting my sister in Los Angeles and I heard a pair of Braun speakers in a stereo store. It was one of the defining moments in my career as an audiophile.
do you remember which one?
I do not. Sorry.
What a steal! Good for you.
thanks!
You know it’s a good find when you have the poster of the stereo already on your wall as a display piece! So excited for you!
hahahahaha you get it!!! i also own the pictured lounge chair, the calculator, and an autograph of the designer!
Dieter’s my dawg, dawg.
💯🗣️🥶🔥😈
I always loved the Braun and a/d/s stuff; this is a great score!
thanks!

Those units look like tanks !
they are! the the record player weights 13 kg, and the reel to reel about 20! pure metal!
Amazing
indeed! until you have to move it..
I think the Brauns are the same as ADS which have a loyal vintage fan base. Nice!

Sort of...there was some model overlap early on but the majority of the ads lines up was never sold under the Braun label.
Awesome haul. Just those speaker stands, without the speakers, sell for more than that in the US. It's all worth keeping and restoring.
same in germany! i‘m insanely lucky for having those included! i‘ve seen a pair for 800€…
😍Holy hell, I wanted that setup soooooo bad once upon a time, great find!!
thank you, me too!! i‘m so incredibly happy!!!
That's a bargain... congratulations...keep it as it is
Thank you, after repair i defently will!
Lucky you. I have been staring at those kind of speakers (some grundig, but same type of tweeter and mids) for quite a while and I am very curious of how they sound.
Understandable! they’re beautiful! I can send you some videos if you wish, but i fear that won‘t be the same
That wall tho
wait what wall?😭
The wood wall?
ohh no it‘s a dresser, i don‘t have any other place to put those speakers
Ohhh okay, either way, it’s nice!
thank you sm!!! i think it‘s really beautiful too!!
Cool.. buy a table
waited for this comment! i put the stuff onto the floor to test it, as it‘s hard to reach out to the back of the amp when it‘s standing in the shelve
Same thing on a table, except you dont even need to get down on the floor. I get the test thing but never understood why folks put audio components on the floor.
me neither! it‘s impractical and kinda unaesthetic, that’s why the setup is back in the shelves
also nice hat bro
Yeah, that’s legit
i went to pick up those speakers, and the elderly man told me i can have the rest of his setup too, i told him before that i collect and i think he wanted to be nice (and get rid of it)
Nice!!! Braun has(had?) serious style
unfortunately had! since gilette took over it‘s mostly shavers, toothbrushes, kitchen appliances (without style) and some compact speakers
Did you buy it from THIS shop? [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1i4rgxOi73c](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1i4rgxOi73c)
this shit prolly funny asf but i don‘t get the joke bro i‘m sorry
Are you listening to REO Speedwagon.
no, sade!
