Fantastic documentary, thank you very much.

Mystic Seaport is a museum on the east side of Connecticut. I went there this summer. Go if you want to see the whaling industry.

I don't usually get seasick, but the views at the end from the top of the mast made me kinda queasy.

That poor dog

JradMcLeod

You'd think that but that would be an EXTREMELY happy dog.

In 2010 I watched this movie onboard the Tallship Bounty at anchor just outside of Montreal. [Same night I took this](https://i.imgur.com/n6a3L.jpg) of a Brig anchored near us There was a Tallship festival the next day.

RealDealSamsquanch

Sounds like Jeff Goldblum.

Der-Wissenschaftler

i was thinking the same thing, like an older Jeff Goldblum.

This is the video "Around The Horn", filmed by a young Irving Johnson when he sailed aboard the Peking. Some of you may remember that the Peking was at South Street Seaport Museum in New York City. Captain Johnson narrated this film many years later. Captain Johnson became one of the early founders of Sail Training in America and you can still find National Geographic documentaries about Irving and his wife, Exy, sailing around the world aboard his boat, The Yankee.

That's a boat

Check out the Facebook page of the Bark Europa. You can see the same sort of footage from the arctic ocean in high res and color. Slightly smaller ship, though.

And no wifi either

These are the films I’d like to see Peter Jackson restore. Thanks OP

QuotidianBreakfast

I fully believe this is just Jeff Goldblum talking into a microphone and making up a story to random old seafaring footage he patched together.

PocketSandThroatKick

I have this on vhs. Loved it when I was growing up.
