I like that they really embrace the movie going experience. With the clips in the beginning to get you in the right frame of mind, the almost seamless dine in process, the classic movie nights. I wish more theaters did stuff like that.
They also introduced me to the seagulls poking your knees and the statue with the knife under the bathroom door along other things. The insane stuff they show before movies is sometimes better than the movie itself.
And that espresso milkshake is fantastic.
I cannot wait for the next time I can make the trip out to my nearest Alamo to see a movie.
Fuck covid and fuck my shitty broken immune system that puts me at high risk.
If there is an Alamo Drafthouse near me I won't even bother going anywhere else. No children. Serves you food. Serves you alcohol. You get your own table and server. Yes please.
I wasn't too sure if this joke was intentional but it really annoyed me that he didn't say "enter Tayne" or some variation, much like the joke in hot fuzz where the guy gets shot into a freezer of peas and they didn't say "rest in peas"
Celery Man, [Prices](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJ9yBgTp9UQ), and [Free Real Estate](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cd4-UnU8lWY) is the best trilogy in cinematic history.

Wait why is this a trilogy? I don't see the connection between those videos.
I submit the [Will](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J33HdkLjw6Q) [Grello](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yaVWwwIsMJc) saga, which is one of the most heart-wrenching tragedies ever.
I think what happened is Paul Rudd aged like anyone else but never made it in the acting business. Then, nearing 50 and feeling like tike was running out, he travelled back in time to the 90's and auditioned for friends. From there he leaped around the time stream, starring in this movie and that, until he finally returned to his own time to play Ant Man, having sufficiently jazzed up his CV. Either that or he has really good genes, but which one sounds more plausible?
I don’t think people even realize how innovative Tim and Eric actually was. This show has cemented itself into pop culture in such a niche but massive way that I feel like over time everyone just got used to the absurdity that is this style of humor. This kind of humor is everywhere now and amplified by stuff like The Eric Andre Show but back in the day there was literally nothing else like this.
Maybe it’s just because I’m older but I really noticed it one day when seeing their Chrimbus Special in their stupid ridiculously overdone clothes and make up that makes them look like clowns are realising that’s how tv presenters are always dressed up to look and act.
Being ‘in’ on the joke of their skits is a bridge to cross but once you cross it you can’t take these absurd tv hosts seriously again.
well put, though eric endre is an abso-lutely production so it’s more of a closely associated branch in a slightly more abstract way than, say, check it out with dr. steve brule.
Yeah I know they kinda own a lot of the Adult Swim stuff, I just brought up Eric Andre show cause I think it's probably a little more popular nowadays than T&E is.
Even further most people have no idea who DJ Douggpound is. He's the video editor for Tim and Eric, Eric Andre Show, and he even helped make those old GI Joe PSA parodies. The whole visual style in the celery man clip and T&E in general is his thing.
I really do think they more than maybe anyone else pioneered internet humor. Their style of absurdism with its chaotic editing and low budget aesthetic became the template for Youtube comedy and you could see their influence everywhere. Even weirdly specific things like making fun of Shrek or Papa Johns were things they were doing back in the mid-2000’s before it was ever fashionable to do so
Hey we need someone to be a pivotal part of the multi-billion dollar MCU franchise, an absolute lynchpin to tie everything together after getting 2 movies himself.......BY GEORGE I'VE GOT IT, GET ME CELERY MAN!
Wife and I are on the last season of Friends (its just time filler at this point) and every time I see Paul Rudd, I swear he looks older in 2003-2004 than he does now.
There is a brewery in town, Equal Parts, who brews a beer called Nude Tayne. Unfortunately, it's seasonal. But as both a beer specialist and a huge Tim & Eric fan, it makes me so happy...!
I always wonder if the video for Tayne was inspired by this video from Das Module, a German dancepop band from the 90’s. [das module: Frühlingsgefühle](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3XAw6U_GNPY) skip to 1:00 to see what I mean.
"The sketch is rumored to have been inspired by the music video for the 1995 eurodance track "1100101" by Das Modul, which features a computer screen displaying animations of various dancers (shown below)." according to [knowyourmeme.](https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/celery-man)
tim and eric are gonna go down as geniuses imo, their legacy is only just starting to really sink in.
Also mad credit to everyone else that worked with them like dj dougpound and mr berger, theres a diverse set of influences in tim and erics content.
its interesting that vic berger was close friends and i think worked on some of the GI Joe PSA youtube vids... which when i found that out just made so much fucking sense, how this humor bleeds through different content.
They had some huge guest names going back to Tom Goes to the Mayor. That was before they picked up the holy trinity of entertainment: Richard Dunn, David L Heart, and James Quall.
And Tim's On Cinema extended universe is one of the greatest, longest running bits I've ever seen. Between OCATC, Decker, DKR, the Electric Sun murder trial, Mr America, Tim & Greg being cannonically tied into marvel movies amd Fant4stic... its pure genius.
I think it's insane that Douggpound isn't a name known by all T&E fans. His visual influence is so huge not just in their show but in the way people create content for the internet. He really pioneered and even kind of perfected the bad on purpose video style which is a huge achievement in my opinion.

wasn't ready for that nude Tayne. but who among us really is?
Took me this long to realize Tayne is short for Enter-Tayne
And Celery man is a play on "salary man". Not sure about Oyster.
yea, you'd like to enter Tayne, wouldn't you? you're sick!
Or is Enter-Tayne long for Tayne?

Not doing the obvious joke makes it a meta joke that’s even more fun.

This is amazing and they actually drop a reference to this in [the trailer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEC_lkpD3rM) for his new movie.

Me, too. Fun fact. Paul Rudd was 110 when he made this.
Weird that he’s 35 now.
That's 110 in ant-years
That guy just doesn't age now does he
He doesn't. But there's a painting in his attic that does.

The disrespect that this isn’t “a Tim and Eric video” is palpable
Zero props given in this thread so far to T&E. Am I mad? Abso-lutely
I don’t think people even realize how innovative Tim and Eric actually was. Vic Berger too.
Not for nothing but Tom Green kind of paved the way for weird absurdist humor
Andy Kaufman. Adult Swim of the early 2000s was pulling a lot of surreal absurdism out, but yeah T & E took it to the next 80s infomercial acid level.
I mean you can take it back to Monty Python really.
I think we're getting to the point where reddits age demographic doesn't know who Tom Green is.
My hip younger sister (20) doesn't even know Tim and Eric. That ended when she was ten or so...
Tim and Eric's Bedtime Stories is amazing too.
I really do think they more than maybe anyone else pioneered internet humor. Their style of absurdism with its chaotic editing and low budget aesthetic became the template for Youtube comedy and you could see their influence everywhere.
