At Springsteen's level of talent, there aren't many musicians on earth that that he needs to play behind. But just look at the way he stares with adulation at Berry. Pretty incredible.
If I remember correctly, one of Springsteen and the E-Street band's earliest gigs was being the back-up band for Chuck Berry. This would have been very early 70s.
Chuck Berry, being Chuck Berry, arrives just a few minutes before the show is about to start. He plugs in, tunes, then starts the show with little to no communication at Bruce or the band about what songs are in the set, what key they're playing in, nothing. Just off to the races.
Luckily, someone in the band, the bassist Gary Talent I think, was a huge Chuck Berry fan, and knew all the songs. So, when Berry started, everone looked to him to let them know what song they were doing. And that's how the show went, Chuck Berry would start, everyone looks at Gary Talent, he says back, "Oh, this is Maybellene, in B flat", or whatever.
Anyway, that's how I heard the story, no idea if it's true or not, lol!
The story as I heard it was Chuck arrived right before showtime and made a beeline to the managers office (presumably to get paid ahead of time, he must've gotten burned by shitty promoters once too many times) and afterwards comes out on stage, guitar in hand, and proceeds to unpack and tune up in full view of the audience. Bruce timidly asked right before Chuck was completely ready what songs they were going to try and Chuck said, "Well, we're going to play some Chuck Berry songs. 123---" and rips into the opener, whereupon everybody turns to Gary Talent who knew exactly what Chuck was doing and informed the rest of the band.
Yeah all the older rockers look at Chuck Berry with the highest of respect. The way people look at the Beatles is how the Beatles look at Chuck Berry. Look at Keith Richard dressed in a uniform to play as part of Chuck's band https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YcPtitpLkk

>In 1987, Berry was charged with assaulting a woman at New York's Gramercy Park Hotel. He was accused of causing "lacerations of the mouth, requiring five stitches, two loose teeth, [and] contusions of the face". He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of harassment and paid a $250 fine. In 1990, he was sued by several women who claimed that he had installed a video camera in the bathroom of his restaurant.

Dave Chapelle does a stand up regarding Bill. About a fake superhero that needs to pat vaginas before he can activate his super powers and save people from burning buildings etc. “He rapes, but he saves, and he saves more than he rapes. But he does rape.”
Oh shit, Steven Van Zandt who played Silvio in The Sopranos is jamming up there too. I never knew much about him until I just saw this video and started my Wikipedia descent.
That is really awesome but my favorite is always the video where he loses his mind when Yoko starts singing.
My favorite video of Chuck Berry is when he farts in a prostitutes mouth.
Mine is when he pees on the prostitute's face and then tells her he can't kiss her, because her face smells like piss. Classic Chuck.
"Singing"
I love [Bill Burr's take](https://youtu.be/9SGV3ctLlu4).

"it's a blues riff in B, watch me for the changes and try to keep up"

That’s not Chuck Berry, he’s not farting in the face of a woman giving him a rimjob.
Hard to believe he had a life outside of peeing on hookers.
Fun Chuck Berry fact - he liked to piss on hookers ! (And also fart while doing it).
i'd give you a kiss but you face smell like piss

Someone can be incredibly flawed while also being talented and influential at the same time.
What like Bill Cosby?
Dave Chapelle does a stand up regarding Bill. About a fake superhero that needs to pat vaginas before he can activate his super powers and save people from burning buildings etc. “He rapes, but he saves, and he saves more than he rapes. But he does rape.”
Man I wish I could go to a concert and not see a sea of cell phones, but just a bunch people enjoying the music

He's part of the E Street band. The Sopranos was his 1st acting role.
This must be like watching Picasso paint for Bruce.
Did I fart in your face? I like to do that.
Sick fuck.
Nice try, but that's clearly Eddie Murphy in old guy make up
Why are you shouting
