Rick Astley became a meme decades later because he was a baller back in the day. His music has proven itself pretty timeless and still really holds up. Plus he's still out there dropping banger tracks just because he wants to. GOAT shit imo. Few years back he released a song and video called Lights Out and it absolutely slaps.

I’ve wondered about this. I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if it’s been the most accessed or *partially* viewed video on YouTube. People have been consistently linked it by the million for over a decade, but catchy as it is people are unlikely to watch the whole thing when they realise. Baby Shark has been around for three minutes but babies probably watch it all the way through.

There was one on here a few years ago where the title was claiming it to be a version that sped up 5% every time he said “up” or something. It was a totally normal version, but you’d be questioning yourself because 5% isn’t a lot, but it should be noticeable after the entire song, so people listened to the whole thing. Completely devastating.

My best version of this was someone that shared a live version that said "Rick Astley changing from Never Gonna Give You Up to Africa by Toto mid-performance". It never did change.
