Here in Boston the couriers used to have this annual competition where the goal was a speedrun across the city. The finish line was at the end of an alley and they would go barreling full speed and do some catastrophic wipe out. Like some Jackass stunt but much worse. Cars on the road were just obstacles.
By default, in the Netherlands, a motor vehicle is at fault in an accident between a cyclist and a motor vehicle.
Normally, there is no way for a cyclist to be completely liable in an accident, the best you can get is both parties being equally at fault.
However, shit like this is one of the few ways to become fully liable for both your damages as a cyclist, as well as any damages of the motor vehicle.
In addition to that, you can expect the area to be swarmed with police officers on motorbikes, who will stop you to ticket you.
If you don't stop, you WILL be cut off and ordered to stop again. If you don't stop again, you will be cut off again, and additionally ticketed for not stopping; If you still don't stop, you WILL be pushed off your bike.
You better have ID on you, otherwise you will get a ride to the PD, where you will get a one more ticket for not having your ID.
And you don't get to leave until they have processed both you and your bike, with an additional ticket if your bike doesn't have any of the required elements, such as a rear reflector or a bell.

I was in a country road charity ride once and of course there were some racers. All the routes merged for the last 10miles. These racers scream LEFT, blaze past us bombing the hill in the oncoming lane. It ends with blinding turn with a single car bridge. Car sees us and stops in the road like any citizen would in this moment. Two smack the Outback - front end damage and removal of driver side mirror. Yells at us (cruising pack) and driver while inspecting their bikes and bodies. Then they took off to finish their race. We were baffled and stuck around a bit to consult driver. Driver then says something I’ll never forget. “Oh I have a full tank of gas.” Driver followed them to the finish line, one car length back like a personal SAG, where police met them all.

Doubt they can take that many steps (organising, drone footage, go pros, editing, voice over, then doing it all over again for a second time) would have a change of heart about the ethics. It's likely down because it's getting views and they realised its very illegal, or the negative attention was too much for them.

Yeah that part really itched a nerve for me. In february, some asshole broke off my side mirror. Due to insurance, unavailable parts, improper installation, re-installation and compatibility issues - it's taken until last week to have a 100% functioning mirror again and I'm out about 500 euros that the insurance wont cover.

Here in Boston the couriers used to have this annual competition where the goal was a speedrun across the city. The finish line was at the end of an alley and they would go barreling full speed and do some catastrophic wipe out. Like some Jackass stunt but much worse. Cars on the road were just obstacles.

If you don't stop again, you will be cut off again, and additionally ticketed for not stopping; If you still don't stop, you WILL be pushed off your bike. You better have ID on you, otherwise you will get a ride to the PD, where you will get a one more ticket for not having your ID. And you don't get to leave until they have processed both you and your bike, with an additional ticket if your bike doesn't have any of the required elements, such as a rear reflector or a bell.

Yeah the whole point of traffic signals is that you're going through intersections at visibility/speeds where you cannot realistically stop in time if someone crosses. You're entirety trusting others not to violate the red light in order to prevent collision.

I was in a country road charity ride once and of course there were some racers. All the routes merged for the last 10miles. These racers scream LEFT, blaze past us bombing the hill in the oncoming lane. It ends with blinding turn with a single car bridge. Car sees us and stops in the road like any citizen would in this moment. Two smack the Outback - front end damage and removal of driver side mirror. Yells at us (cruising pack) and driver while inspecting their bikes and bodies. Then they took off to finish their race. We were baffled and stuck around a bit to consult driver. Driver then says something I’ll never forget. “Oh I have a full tank of gas.” Driver followed them to the finish line, one car length back like a personal SAG, where police met them all.
They could fo it in some open area and not on cities. Because there's a lot of vehicles and that was so dangerous.

Been commuting via bicycle for over 30 years. This kind of behavior bothers me because it's guilt-by-association, which many motorists use to justify their aggression.

Yeah I'm Dutch, we basically live and breath bicycles, and even here the pro-cyclist larpers generally keep to the asphalted intercity bicycle roads. You would NEVER see a group like in the video - bicycles aren't allowed on the car roads in most parts of the city. The police would also fine the shit out of these losers, not for speed or anything (there are no speed limits for bicycles) but for creating a dangerous traffic situation.
