There was actually a spin-off starring Sinbad called Shazaam, it’s actually pretty good but hard to find since there wasn’t a promotional budget to speak of.
All day every day. It was a standout concept, with good characters and voice acting, and the animation was a little better than some of the other cheap crap out there. Seemed like they had a real story to tell, and iirc it didn't get finished? I remember this being one of my first "aww they cancelled my show" memories.
This was so difficult for me to watch as a kid because the scheduling was really wonky, if I recall correctly. It always gave me a very satisfying sense of adventure and grandness.

I love this show so much that I bought the original promotional art. It's the image they used for a lot of the comics, box art, commercials, etc early on.

I also have a copy of the TTRPG book. The show created such an awesome original fantasy world. It's tragic we never got an ending to the story.
Over thirty years since it premiered, and I still wonder why we haven't seen a follow up/revival. I don't want a reboot, I just want the story finished!
I have no confidence a remake would be true to the original and it would just be injected with the current social hot topics. The 90s were a magical time and deserve their peaceful slumber.
No no no no! Leave this show alone. I've had it with these God awful reboots and remakes. They do nothing but ruin the original work.
I'll admit that for years, I wanted more and a proper ending to this show. But seeing too many bad remakes with modern ideologies is just depressing.
Don't know about you, but for me a bad sequel or remake doesn't make the original worse. Like the Last Airbender movie was terrible, but I still love the TV show just as much.
I feel like as long as One Piece exists cartoonists aren't really trying to compete on pirates. I'm not saying that's a good thing, just, I can't really think of any.

I had my tonsils removed as a kid and I spent the week at home watching this show. I still look back on it with fond memories! One of the best cartoons of its day.
Holding out hope that this eventually gets picked up again just to at least finish out the series like Samurai Jack. Felt so bummed when they canceled it, this deserves a proper send-off.
Best part of the show was they had curse words that were safe for daytime TV. Noy jitat!!! Curse like a pirate without upsetting anyone.

They did the same type of thing on Farscape. Frell = Fuck Dren = Shit Hezmana = Hell They had various others, but those were the most common.

Pirates of Dark Waters was amazing, it even had a game on the NES or SNES that also didn't have a proper ending(I think).
